For a genre that completely took over the medium in one of the major industries, there aren't that many worthwhile reads. It's been 85 years since the arrival of Superman, and there are probably no more than 100 at least decent cape comics, even after stretching the definition of "superhero" to its very limit.
Anyone want to challenge this notion?

If we agree you're right will you frick off forever?
No.
Ok poser
Ok
incredible bait
there's plenty of fun runs
It's not bait, it's an honest assessment.
I like superhero comics too. That's why I bother with them in the first place.
The fact that you said "hobby" instead of "genre" says a lot about you.
I like superhero comics so I think there's thousands of good comic that I haven'teven read yet. Maybe this hobby isn't for you.
No
No what?
People overthink superheroes, the appeal is it's simple, yeah not amazing usually but that's not the point.
That hasn't been the case for a very long time.
There's no excuse for it not to be amazing in some manner.
>no more than 100 at least decent cape comics
OP, there are 200 "at least decent" issues JUST in the X-Men franchise. I'm fairly certain you've never set foot in a comic shop.
I'm counting by runs and limited series, not individual issues.
>I'm fairly certain you've never set foot in a comic shop.
I have, but what would this matter?
There are no good X-Men comics.
I'll post all the ones I've liked. See if I can surpass 100.
Shit. It's not easy.
You just have bad taste. There are tons of good superhero comics. You probably think that artsy-fartsy British stuff is "good".
>artsy-fartsy British stuff
What do you mean, like Peter Milligan?
It's interesting, at worst. Most superhero comics aren't even that.
Nonsense. That shit flat out sucks. The traditional superhero comics are much higher quality.
Yeah, that's bullshit.
The Brits are amateurish. Traditional American superhero comics were much more professionally made.
Weird hill to die on.
wow what an interesting thread you have created
you triumphantly shouted from the mountain tops that everything sucks and challenged the world to disagree
what a creative and interesting person you are
i bet you're the most fun at parties
That applies to your own post as well, homosexual.
>wow what an interesting thread you have created
Thank you.
>you triumphantly shouted from the mountain tops that everything sucks and challenged the world to disagree
I'm actually in the basement (the polar opposite of a mountain top lol), and I wrote that most of it sucks, not everything.
>what a creative and interesting person you are
Again, thank you.
>i bet you're the most fun at parties
I don't go to parties, so I wouldn't know.
Why are you still a boring one-note gimmick poster after all these decades
I accept your concession.
No I agree, I think it would be better if the genre wasn't dominated by two companies that both refuse to allow any change within the genre.
The time they cut a little loose (80s) was the time the best work they've ever had was produced.
Do I have to post a screenshot from twatter to get a thread going?
