Magic in comic book universes is infamously inconsistent and whenever Superman encounters a villain with magical powers, the bad guy gets a case of the stupids that keeps him from using his powers to their full extent. A bad guy could turn Superman into a chicken. Kill him and cook his corpse. But instead they always fall back to the default magical energy blast that just knocks him over.
If magic enhances lanterns so much, why do none of the other corps use it? I get why the Greens wouldn’t, the whole Starheart thing, but Sinestro didn’t think it would give him an edge?

Supermans weaknesses are. Kryptonite. Red Sun Radiation Heat Lamps. Too much normal sun radiation which gives him Super-cancer. Other Kryptonians which are the only ones who can physically hurt him. And of course Magic.
Martian Manhunters biggest weakness. Fire. Is a lot more common than kryptonite. In a no-holds bars fight between Superman and J'onn. Superman would evaporate him with heat vision.
they've on and off retconned that to be anywhere from an actual physiological weakness to a psychosomatic one to not even bothering him anymore. even when it is a weakness he's usually capable of overcoming it for the sake of plot (like Superman)
Heat vison is not fire. Fire is the result of a rapid oxidation reaction, while heat vision is a type of laser, hence why Jon can use heat vison without ill effect.
I think this is like, they've been cursed to be weaker or something, so magic fire on its own won't weaken Superman but it will hurt him, while a spell specifically made to weaken him will of course weaken him.
