I've been watching Smallville and it's funny how they have Aaron Ashmore playing Jimmy Olsen for 3 season then they kill him off only to reveal that he has a heretofore unmentioned little brother who also goes by Jimmy and they give him his camera. So lame, I'm enjoying the show apart from that.
Blame Mack; the show needed to fire someone because of the limited budget and they decided to kill off Jimmy freaking Olsen instead of OC Chloe. A decision that aged terribly.
It's interesting to watch episode 8x13 "Power" which Allison Mack directed in light of what happened to her later. The episode focuses on women getting stronger through enduring pain and even seems to explicitly reference the french horror film "Martyrs".
Really? I just assumed that was because they needed something for their characters to do once Chloe wasn't working at the Planet and Lana left Lex. They did the same thing with Lex where they have him make a clone of his dead infant brother to be his buddy for seemingly no reason.
If Gunn pulls off 5/10 accurate Superman, I will kneel.

Although a raceswap nowadays will provoke grumbling because of how racially charged every fricking thing is and we've had diversity and nog worship shoved down our throats, in simpler times a raceswap would work when they cast a great performer, like Clarke as Kingpin or Fishburne as Perry. Black Lex WILL raise eyebrows in a way it wouldn't in 2010 (and justifiably so given the shitty climate we've been living in for the past half decade), but getting a guy like Denzel could work. Doubt he'd go for capeshit, but he'd do a good job.

Do the writers always fail to settle on an answer? I'm most familiar with the DCAU version that was 100% an AI, and I liked that version of Brainiac the most by far.
