>Superman has been active for a couple of years and struggling to reconcile his human upbringing with his Kryptonian heritage. As Clark Kent, he works in the Daily Planet with Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White.
>Most superheroes like Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, Guy Gardner and the Engineer are edgy and kill when necessary. Superman is an outcast among them for his optimism and no-kill rule, and ultimately inspires them to change their ways.
>Lex Luthor is running for President, with Ms. Teschmacher as his assistant and Otis as his enforcer. He creates a murderous clone of Superman dubbed “Ultraman” to turn public opinion against Superman.
>The heroes go after Superman, but realize Luthor has manipulated them and join forces with Superman to fight Ultraman after he goes rogue and threatens to destroy the world. Ultraman slowly deteriorates into Bizarro. Meanwhile, Lois and Jimmy work to expose Luthor.
>The movie reportedly ends with Superman revealing his secret identity to Lois, Luthor avoiding repercussions and advancing in the presidential race, the U.S. government recruiting the Engineer for the Authority and Supergirl arriving on Earth.

Seems like way too much crap stuffed into a single movie.
The duality of man
Gunn literally criticized Snyder for this. And then he goes on to do the same. No direction at all...
pretty simple. can work
I believe everyone but Mister Terrific. His WHOLE THING is Fair Play.
>president lex storyline movie 1
>actor playing him isn't even old enough to run himself
this shit sounds moronic enough to be DC alright
Can you really not run for president until you're 70?
He'll be old enough by the time the movie comes out, unfortunately he's British
Good thing the character he's playing will be American and over 35 though
>the U.S. government recruiting the Engineer for the Authority
??? The Authority isn't aligned or controlled by the government, or at least it shouldn't be. Their name is The Authority for Christ's sake. And I HOPE this isn't more stupid bullshit where it's another wing of Task Force X like the JSA and Creature Commandos.
>Ultraman
Debunked
No it wasn't
It was you moronic Black
No, Gunn only said that Luthor was the main villain rather than Ultraman. He never denied Ultraman/Bizarro was in the movie.
Don't care, won't watch.
>Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, Guy Gardner and the Engineer
What a fricking moronic ensemble of characters. I do like most of them but all of them together just seems so random.
I bet they won't even resemble their comic book counterparts too, Gunn just thought their names sounded cool and will vomit his revisionism over them like he did in Guardians and SS
>Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, Guy Gardner and the Engineer
>What a fricking moronic ensemble of characters.
>believe everyone but
>doubtful.
This part of this 'insider' scoop, if true, and simply the fact that Gunn is including this collection of largely B, C and D list types largely so he can cast out of shape and aging actor friends of his without really giving any though of how this world-builds a DCU.
I wouldn't make Hal the first lantern but it definitely should be Guy and not Guy as a Killer on Earth because why would the alien overlord smurfettes let him get away with it. The Engineer is pointless as a solo hero or anti-hero.
Hawkgirl is difficult to explain and when you could have brought in say Livewire or Banshee and turned them into possible good guys - without even 10% of the hassle of Hawkgirl.
Metamorpho makes a better tragic figure or comic relief than a possible villain. He can be a good team hero member if WB wanted to adapt the Terrifics into a TV series.
This is why Superman is my least favorite superhero. He suffers no long term consequences for being essentially a celebrity demi God and exposed to the world as such. With Batman. Every Adventure ends up with a bittersweet ending and Bruce returning to the mission where he has no hope of true mental recovery, same with Spidey but he might as recover as long as Mary Jane and Aunt May are still alive.
>He suffers no long term consequences for being essentially a celebrity demi God and exposed to the world as such.
Who's going up to bat to fight the Demigod?
>where he has no hope of true mental recovery
This is the worst part of Batman. Bruce should be a changed man who has gotten over his trauma through his experience with the Justice League and by the time he starts "Batman Inc". Finding a reliable community in the Justice League should lead to the path of true healing and he should be the man finally ready to pass that along that learned experience to his own created community in Inc. Oh well, you can't truly have pottery and kino in an ongoing eternal capeshit series.
People never get over their trauma. At best they can suppress it.
Naw
Yea. You either suppress it or you have a nice day. Ask any veteran about their experiences.
Veterans of WW2 fared far better than Nam because they had a long period together aka a community to work through their issues and contextualize their experiences post-war.
>clark being conflicted about his kryptonian side
>mister terrific is manchester black
>ultraman is bizarro
literally movies for people who hate comic books
The actor looks lile frankenstein what happened
Roids
>no-kill rule
i'm tired boss
Ok so let's say this movie does end up being objectively good. It will still flop because the vast majority of people are still salty about no Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder.
I think it'll less that and more "people don't like Superman anymore"
>I think it'll less that and more "people don't like Superman anymore"
People do get burnt out on a capeshit
That too. DC picked the wrong time to try to restart their universe
Snyder's dark take on DC would have stood a chance with everyone burnt out on the Marvel formula.
But not really
>Snyder's dark take on Star Wars would have stood a chance with everyone burnt out on the Disney formula.
Lol.
Shit is still shit, the timing doesn't matter.
His DC universe of lame, weak villains, moronic plots, mangled characterizations and heavy-handed symbolism was never going to be popular. The only DCEU films that ever gained tractions aped the MCU down to a t.
Enjoy your Gunnverse flop you quip-loving mongrel
>Insinuating I think Gunn can save the doomed ship of DC
He's an awful choice to make Superfriends movies, his films are full of jerks, dimwits and losers. That's his winning formula.
He should be under a Feige making Justice League International movies, not running the project.
But it literally doesn't matter, by the end of the year WBD will be a 5 dollar stock (it's down again today).
It wasn't a dark take, it was a moronic knucklehead take.
Maybe on planet moron
Snyder's Superman is the only version of the character worth a damn
Why are there half a dozen other superheroes in a Superman movie? I know the answer. Since people think the "goofy" stuff in the Superman mythos won't play these days Superman is just a strong guy who flies which is boring. Superman should have an arctic base with an alien zoo and dangerous artifacts, he should have robot duplicates to protect his secret identity, he should be able to use his powers in ridiculous ways that you wouldn't expect, no one should realize that he's Clark Kent even though he doesn't wear a mask etc...
how much skin will moner's costume show? that's all i care about
her eyes just SCREAM "take me"
I bet she's an absolute freak under the sheets
>>Most superheroes like Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, Guy Gardner and the Engineer are edgy and kill when necessary. Superman is an outcast among them for his optimism and no-kill rule, and ultimately inspires them to change their ways.
doubtful.
Michael "Fair Play" Holt is not edgy.
>Superman has been active for a couple of years and struggling to reconcile his human upbringing with his Kryptonian heritage.
He's not culturally Kryptonian at all. This would be like your parents coming up to you tomorrow and telling you you're from Planet Fattard, and that's the reason you have super-flatulence.
You wouldn't have to reconcile your "two cultures" because you've never been exposed to one of them. Even African Americans have more basis for their faux "Africa Culture" because they can, you know, visit Africa land of their ancestors, and study it.
Pretty tired of this plot line.
This is literally Superman 3. Also Superman 4.
A third film of Luthor making a Monster Superman, what a brave and refreshing take for Warner Brothers.
When this movie flops, you midwits will finally see that Snyderchads were right all along. But we won't be there to save you.
>another evil Superman clone movie
Stop fricking stop.
