Superman legacy is going to flop so hard
it's not going to get made. Aquaman will flop even harder than the Flash and no DC stuff will get made for years except maybe The Batman 2.

I liked suicide squad 2, it was ultra pozzed but self aware it didn't want to deify any character which is what happens with today's movies, they deify characters and transform them into Mary sues and Gary stus

I'm curious whether audiences may actually like optimism and wholesomeness again after a couple of decades of cynicism, snark and Marvel quipping.
Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar 2 did brilliantly and they both felt pretty straightforwardly optimistic and wholesome.

They need to give it a rest. Their waters are too muddy with Reeves Batman, Gunn, Snyder, CW, and probably other shit all going on at the same time. Give it 5 years and just start fresh.

I know this board doesn't like to have logical discussions about how the business actually works, but the reality here is that the DC brand has been completely trashed by the Snyder era and the post Snyder era with all these Walter Hamata approved DC movies. Gunn and Zazloff have to rebuild and regain audience trust, and the only way to do that is by consistently making good movies. Superman Legacy could be the greatest capeshit ever made and it still would be highly unlikely to make North of a billion. That's because audiences have been conditioned by Snyder and Walter Hamata to hate DC movies and associate them with awful films. This new DCU will need several movies in a row that are consistently excellent in order to gain trust with the audience. And contrary to what Gunn and Zazloff are saying, this new era of Warner Bros and DC starts with Superman legacy, NOT with Blue Beetle. Blue Beetle was approved by Hamata and it will flop. It's unlikely the first new DCU movies will be massive hits, but if they're excellent, then word of mouth will spread and people will begin talking about the next upcoming DC film, thats how they need to build momentum. Theres little room for error with DC anymore, if they stumble out of the gate itll be hard to recover. But Gunn has never made a bad movie and I'm not saying that as an ass kisser, dude is a legitimately talented filmmaker. I think its safe to say he's going to make the best Superman movie since the Reeves era.
