>The CW is nearing renewal decisions on the three remaining scripted series in limbo, Superman & Lois, All American: Homecoming and Gotham Knights, sources tell Deadline. Because of the shows’ high price point compared to the lower license fees model the network is shifting to in pursuit of profitability, I hear two of the three series — Superman & Lois and All American: Homecoming — would return
>To make it happen, I hear producing studio Warner Bros. Television made a proposal about a reduced license fee it could make the shows for. While not close to the $1 million an episode the new CW regime had been targeting, I hear it was a significant reduction that could make the series feasible for the network while still making financial sense for the studio.
>if, as expected, the CW proceeds with renewing Superman & Lois and All American: Homecoming, that would come with major budget cuts that would include reducing the number of series regular cast members. Superman & Lois, now in its third season, has 12 series regulars; I hear the leads are not expected to be affected but supporting cast members will likely be.
>in the event of a renewal, the CW would likely share some library streaming rights to Superman & Lois, which is now available on Max.
>Performance-wise, Superman & Lois has been on par with All American and Walker. But, with its superhero nature, it also is more expensive due to extensive special effects. In addition to trimming the cast, the series likely would lean more heavily into its core premise as a family drama going forward while still honoring its superhero roots.

tl;dr gotham knights is kill, s&l coming back with a smaller budget and cast. who's getting cut? hopefully the cushings and irons family.
CW is dead, even after the buyout, the next season will probably be a send off to cancellation. Kinda a shame since it had a lot of great moments.
I heard their new show about Jesus was actually pretty good
Well shit they just pulled the trigger

Dog bless.
>‘Gotham Knights’ Canceled By CW After One Season
I am not even surprised it was cancelled.
I'd be shocked if it was renewed.
I'm a little surprised. The show was apparently incredibly cheap to make and it had some Batman franchise recognition. I guess that's why they're doing some budgeting with the more expensive show.
>It had some Batman franchise recognition
It was mostly OCs and some random batfamily members.
Only one's an OC, but my point is that Batman shit generally tends to get some privilege other anything else at DC. I'm glad this wasn't the case, though.
>Batman shit generally tends to get some privilege other anything else at DC
When they have Batman or a well known character like Harley Quinn. This had Steph and the blue haired dyke that nobody likes.
And yet ironically these series can't use Batman himself outside of a few seconds.
None of the live-action shows can because WB is pedantic about live action appearances. At least animation has grown past the embargo era.
They canned an entire finished Batgirl movie, so Batman probably doesn't have the star power you think it does.
CWDC is done. They're giving S and L a somewhat honorable send off with a final season is all. They probably figured there was no point in renewing Gotham because it wasn't going to last much longer anyway.
I was there from the beginning with WB and UPN were created. And then when they merged into CW.
It really pulls at my heartstrings to witness the end of an era.
I'm glad. I can't wait to piss on their graves. It spares me the trouble of going to their studios and murdering everyone there. If CW won't give me what I want to see then I will see it destroyed.
You hear me Gugiefrick! You should have given us a fricking proper Black Canary! But they didn't want you for their DC movie stuff did they? You just wasted years of your life. Who's fricking laughing now you dumb frick!
It's sad how badly they dropped the ball.
Early seasons Sara was their best attempt ironically enough and she wasn't even supposed to be the real Black Canary. Laurel was "eh", the cop I barely remember doing anything but jobbing to mooks
>CWDC is done
Good.
I'm surprised because they let Batwoman to run for three seasons.
GK had ratings even lower than Batwoman.
I'm still surprised it even made it past a pilot.
If you need to know how bad Gotham Knights is... even the ragewatch grifters didn't put out weekly reviews. The same people who made bank rage watching Velma realized NO ONE gave a frick about Gotham Knights and promptly dropped for the Rangs of Powah
Honestly is anyone surprised? That was a show for nobody. The reason Gotham was successful is because despite not having a Batsuit it still has villains and worked as a cop procedural with villains. And by the later seasons they earned the right to have crazier Batman-esque stories.
This is a show for no one that has one or two good actors. Even Two-Face couldn't save it. Your lead characters have dyed hair. That's gonna shut a good percentage out who actually read the comics. And you keep the name of a fail Video game. The only thing they had going for them is TwoFace but they fricked him up too.
Cut out Lana's family. No one gives a shit.
Cut Sarah that cheating b***h. Like father, like daughter.
that entire family has dragged the show down
John Henry has grown on me but Natasha can get cut.
Lana's family can get the boot too except maybe Lana herself. Beppo can also go
>Beppo
The monkey is in the series?
The frick is Gotham Knights?
Archie but in Gotham
OC Knights
You're better off not knowing.
Season 1 of S&L was good, but it went downhill at rapid speed.
Season 2 was a downgrade, but it never got as bad as the other CW shows. Season 3 has been a lot better.
>12 series regulars
What the frick
How di Batwoman lasted so long? Seires was ass and it had to replace the main character like three times.
Happy Superman Day
What's more likely to happen in S4— Jon getting powers or becoming gay?
>You need budget to show a character doing incredible things
>You don't need budget to reveal a character is gay
Hard to say anon
Sorry can't cast another regular character.
Jon will discover he has a crush on Kyle right before he leaves town to chase a job offer. Sounds like the stupid BS they'd do.
Clip the brown reporter chick. Clip the girlfriend and her entire family even if Sloan is a smoke show. Clip papa Lane.
Kill Jordan keep Jonathan but have Jordan’s actor play Jonathan because he looks like Jon.
Give Superman trunks.
>Gotham Knights is canceled
I'm still convinced it was money laundering.
At least we got Atom Man.
In name and helmet only. Still not as good as the actual radio story.
Actually if they really wanted a season long villain, Der Teufel and Atom Man would be perfect. Scarlet Widow too.
>budget cuts
I guess no more fights
That looks really good, but man I wish they had just done the Kryptonite blood/plasma glove stuff with Atom Man instead. Shit was so good in the radio serial.
Unironically looks better than the CGI from the Flash movie.
Isn’t Walker still on the Network?
I would have thought they would keep those 3 shows plus Walker, so at least two nights had streaming programming.
To this day I don't know what CW stands for
(C)BS (W)arner Bros.
CBS + Warner Bros = the CW
Remove the gay shit and put less time on the crosseyed frog creature that they call Lois. First season was amazing. Couldn't stand second season and pretty much dropped it when I heard Jon Kent's actor quit. Give you one guess why.
Why did he quit?
According to rumors, the showrunners wanted Jon to come out as gay, to which the actor said ''no way gays'' and quit.
Good for him.
The official excuse was "mental health" reasons. That's just insult to injury. Don't want to kiss another guy? You must be insane.
Does anyone even care about Court of Owls? They're the world's most generic evil rich guy conspiracy. I have never seen anything that made them seem cool or interesting, including their original Nu52 arc which was highly shilled by various comic book sites.
Doomed from the start when they changed it from a Dickbats villain to Bruce's villain.
They're more astroturfed than Miles Morales. It's especially dumb because we already had League of Shadows as the underground criminal group. If you want a good version of Court of Owls read Wayne of Gotham. Same concept with Gothams old families but it's wrapped in one story.
Given WB, Gotham Knights gets renewed and this doesn't
Read the thread. The reverse happened.
Little late to the party. S and L got a renewal (but a small one so that's probably it) Knights got the boot.
I've got a dead name for you: Gotham Knights.
