Superman has killed but the MOS is still shit.
I didn't hate MOS, it just wasn't that interesting. Sort of straightforward and unoriginal.
I did watch it on a plane, so some would argue I've never really seen it.
>>Gets a pass
No, the people who got mad at Man of Steel also hated Byrne's take, too.
Waid being the most obvious example
Wasn't it retconned into a dream that made Supe really set his mind to never kill?
No
>post Crisis
>Superman
>thousands die during his fight with Zodd
>no big deal
>has to kill that genocidal maniac to finally stop him
>NOOOOOOO, WHY DID YOU MAKE ME DO THIS
This is my beef with that scene. It makes Superman look more self righteous than actually caring for the life on this planet.
I know this was not Snyders intention, but I do not expect him to know how actual people feel and act.
How do YOU know Superman killed anyone during said fight?
>sarcasm.
hurr durr, I fricking wonder why he had a different reaction to being unable to save people while actively getting his ass beat than when he was actually forced to kill someone himself, makes no sense hurr durr
frick John Byrne
The reason the scene exists at all was because Byrne was being a salty little b***h. It's supremely out of character, out of tone with the setting and genre and frankly, fricking tacky. You might as well use War Games or fricking Identity Crisis as an example.
It was a good end to a good run.
Stay mad.
Superman did right the thing think about what culd happened had he not done the deed anons.
I have zero problem with Superman killing. My problem is he didn't do it sooner. Most of Metropolis got terraformed or whatever while Superman dicked around. Also spent a lot of time punching things through buildings.
guys, I found this ONE (1) incident in which superman killed someone, therefore he's a killing machine.
for each panel you have of superman killing, I'll reply with 10 of him not killing
He killed Arvuskin, Brainiac 13, Darkseid, and Doomsday too.
For one this moment was hugely controversial in the comics. For two it directly led to him having a no kill rule, which nyder didn't do. For three it gave clark a crisis of coinciense rather than just deciding to work for the daily planet right after. And fourth outside of that he was still already traditional superman (arguably that might make it worse depending on who you ask)
>we need an issue to explain why Superman doesn't kill
>it can't just be "well he doesn't want to"
10/10 writing by Byrne
