It was absolutely moronic and dumb. I went and seemed and read most of the storyline involving it and it’s just a confusing mess that never really explains much and just says “yea Supes has energy powers”. It’s a complete waste and I’m warning you ahead.
You wanna read some good 90s Superman read Time and Time Again
If it was a month (or two) long event that had a real ending in mind it would have been fine. Just superman learning to use new powers and some wild adventures he would get into.
the idea that it would be the new status quo was ridiculous
>Late 90s DC was ass
This is the dumb shit people say when they don’t actually read anything other than a few meme comics. 96-2006 was one of the strongest periods in the history of the company
No. There was a good Annual around that time (I still have it), but this period with the Millennium Giants was such a slog. It felt like this is the point where all the energy, pun intended, was sucked out of the Superman comics.
Morrison made it work in JLA, but in the main titles it didn’t work.
The problem with this was the execution.
As with this thought ...: >Morrison made it work in JLA
... someone like Morrison could take a wacky silver age idea and make it work, whether it's for an issue, like with All Star Superman and the use of the tiny Superman Squad to cure some illness, which was essentially not even more than a few panels in one issue, but dragging it out, much less making it the new

>status quo was ridiculous
Exactly. And ...
The electric powers were a cool deviation and a great way to pad out an otherwise dull year for the book. Splitting Clark into two people was stupid.
>Splitting Clark into two people was stupid.
This.
It could have been made to work for more than an issue or a run, under the right hands. It wasn't put in the right hands.
I really liked Blue's powerset when it first showed up
But like said, it would've been cooler on a new character
Since, everyone knew it would never stick on Superman
It's a concept that would be cooler if it was an OC instead of Superman, but also infinitely more forgettable like the fate of most new capes in DC
I don’t think an OC would work because, like you said, it would just make 5em a throw away. It’s better for a redundancy like Kyle Rayner or Wally West. Red and Green Kyle or lightening-split Wally who “strikes the same place twice” or something.

It screamed we're out of ideas on what to do then and it does not. Late 90s DC was ass.
>Late 90s DC was ass.
*amazing
>I grew up with it so it's good
ngmi
No, it's good because it's good. Hope that helps. This was the era of stuff like Morrison's JLA, Waid's Flash run, and weird stuff like Hitman.
all shit
Ah, you're not being serious. Engagement is almost always a mistake on Cinemaphile.

It was better than 'what if superman was evil'
You may have a point here, senpai.
> Late 90s DC was ass.
Objectively false. Mid-late 90s DC was amazing, firing on all cylinders.
Just makes me fricking think of coke and pepsi.
sure!
Superman comics have the worst tropes and gimmiks.
> by the superman writers and artists
holy shit this was dead on arrival if nobody wanted name credits

Have they ever revisit this?
no, only supermiguel in dial h for hero in 2018.
Was this the most redpilled and bluepilled thing in comic history?

How happen if you combine them together, Cinemaphilebros?
