I liked Routh. I thought he did an excellent job of capturing the charm that Reeve brought to the role, but I hate the costume.

Either go with muted colors throughout or go bright and primary. The contrast of the bright blue and the dull red makes the reds come off as browns. And the S-Shield is TOO. DAMNED. SMALL.
That said, I thought the movie itself was a decent if bittersweet coda to the Donner films, but didn’t really have anything of its own to say. It felt, in all ways, like a finale. That in of itself isn’t a bad thing, but I couldn’t really imagine this Superman and this Metropolis being a part of a larger comics world.
Because in his world, Superman required that everyone take part in “Superhero Tuesday,” where everyone was required to wear their underwear outside their clothes.
They had to digitally reduce Routh's manhood as it was too distracting. How come we don't hear such thing from Henry Cavill? Is his dick as small as his hands?

I fricking loved that movie. The kid subplot is a bit of a whiff, but I honestly think it's a deep enough movie that most people misunderstood it.
The "why the world doesn't need superman" plotline with Lois is some thoughtful shit - really asking the audience if they still believe in Superman, and if not why not. Really prefigured the 2010s kerfluffle about postmodernity in pop media, and cynicism towards idealistic figured like Supes.
The smallville scenes were wonderful, the krypton stuff was good, and that final chapter where he lifts the kryptonite contient and "dies"... spectacular. Its also a GORGEOUS movie, the design of everything and the colors... the shots of all the people looking up with their umbrellas...
Good stuff coming from a homosexual child molesting piece of shit
It was a beautifully filmed movie with some of the best Superman scenes put on film. But the movie was a mess. Superman abandoning Earth to look for Krypton and not telling anyone. Coming back and being butt hurt that Lois moved on and even stalks her. Lex real estate scheme recycled again. BTW,, who the frick would want to love in giant crystal island? His super son
I had hopes when they showed Lex acquiring all of Krypton’s knowledge that they were taking him somewhere more interesting than the Donner films did, but sadly, no.
I mean, you could make the case that it was making some sort of statement about the difference between knowledge and genius, what with Lex for all his newfound knowledge still having the same unimaginative real estate scheme, but if that was the intention, it was a bit undercooked, not to mention that it still doesn’t do justice to Lex, for all his other faults, being an actual genius, not a self-deluded conman.
Mistake was making it a sequel to the Donner movies. It should’ve been a Post Crisis reboot in same spirit as the Donner ones. Instead we get the soulless MOS
I disagree about MoS being soulless, but I agree about it being a sort of coda to the Donner films. It took me a while to come around to MoS, but once I did, there’s a wealth of things there that I can’t help but love about it.
Two things: compression and speed. His lungs are so tough that he can literally compress air in them, and he’s so strong that he can expel it with hurricane force. As that compressed air expands, it pulls heat to do so.
Garbage movie >Superman II ends with Superman saying "I won't leave again" >in this movie he left right away for like 5 years >he returns a deadbeat dad >he does nothing but catch big things >yet another Lex Luthor land grab plot (only this one doesn't make sense)
Had the classic theme with the intro title fanfare
it was alright
Agreed. Still has the single best superman scene ever put to film
>no action sequences
frick off kevin smith
WROOOOOOOOOONG
This is the only god damn thing I even remember from the movie.
It was in all the trailers iirc
Scene is better than anything in MOS
I mean, that bar is placed on the fricking floor, anon. I really can't understand who was so incredibly moronic as to allow snyder to make a DC film.

Why is he wearing his underwear on the outside.

His suit was modeled after classic circus strong man outfit

Hang in there, bro.
Kys chinkcel
Ok that must be shooped. The one on the left looks ridiculously small.

Erm, stop bullying Henry.

I literally remember nothing about this movie and I know I've seen it.
Erm.
Was it ever explained why Supes has ice breath ? Like, why ice ? None of his powers have an ice theme, this has always felt so random.
magic. I ain't gonna explain shit
He’s always had super breath

FOOTA
I think you mean FUTA.
how fast did he move her?
Beautiful.
>the plane rescue
>guy shooting superman point blank in the eye
>the boat rescue
>the continent lift
This movie has the best Superman scenes.
Routh was a worthy successor to Reeves imo. The actual film was so-so.
IMDB - "It took twelve years and three vastly different directors to finally get the project off the ground."
I wish we had gotten a proper MoS2 instead of DCU bullshit, bros...

They always make the symbol too small and the cape attach too high
