I liked it as a kid, i liked more than the Animaniacs, but maybe it was becouse i was in a spanish speaking country and many of the jokes were puns that didn't translate well into another language, but Pinky and the Brain was my favorite of the Spielberg cartoons by a long shot
I also didn't catch on the guy that made Jurassic Park made all those cartoons even if they kept saying "Steven Spielberg presents..." every time, i don't know it flew over my head for my entire childhood
>the survining Looney Tunes staff didn't like it
I’ve never seen any proof of that. I can believe it with how crummy the animation could be in the first season.
Not that anon, but he's probably referring to this: >Tom Snyder asked Chuck Jones what he thought of Tiny Toons on his talk show. Chuck thought a second and said something to the effect of, "If you had a moronic step-child in your
family, would you comment on it publicly?" Friz Freleng wasn't as polite...
Original source is gone, but if you google "Chuck Jones Tiny Toons" you can find old discussions about it.
I still like it... some of it. A good chunk of the episodes are hit or miss, and you can tell which ones are the good ones because they're the only ones people talk about, That or they're talking horny. Speaking of which...
My favorite episodes of Tiny Toons were the ones where the writers gaslit children into believing Honey, Bosko, Foxy, Roxy and Goopy Gear were hilarious and cherished cartoon characters.
The only thing that I REALLY like Tiny Toons and Animaniacs for is the fact that they had the balls to show kids extremely old things and unconventional references, which I'm all for. It's pretty obvious that the staff liked Old Hollywood and Golden Age animation (similar to The Simpsons, which is frankly 100x better, but that's besides the point). But as TV shows, Tiny Toons and Animaniacs are kinda whatever as far as entertainment is concerned. Old Looney Tunes is funny because of the premise and execution, Tiny Toons and Animaniacs are "funny" because they talk in funny voices and use sound effects a lot.
I’d say South Park and Family Guy had a worse impact on adult animation, taking what didn’t work about The Simpsons and making them seem like the things that made it successful.
No we fricking haven’t. But that depends on what you mean. If you’re talking about all 750 episodes of The Simpsons, it’s by far a worse show than either TTA or Animaniacs. If like most fans, you’re just thinking of the classic episodes, than it’s way better than those shows. Would you watch Buster’s Directorial Debut or A Streetcar Named Marge if you had 25 minutes of spare time?
Bosko was decently popular. They didn’t have the balls to keep him a monkey.
Unironically Bosko and Honey were actually Blackface at one point and not monkeys. They did both go back and forth a little and try to rebrand them and show them as otherwise but that's why they're not exactly pushing them anymore.
The Bosko shorts were actually pretty popular back when they came out in the early 30s. Especially the later ones which are full of gags and aren't just singing and dancing.
>The Simpsons, a show that literally made Adult animation during prime time a viable thing is worse than Tiny Toon Adventures, an okay at best kid’s cartoon
How much crack do you have to smoke to earnestly believe this?
Tiny Toons/Animaniacs fans are a cult where they believe that their shows represent the highest possible quality, and is a continuation of the olden days. But that's just silly, and everyone knows it's a farce, including people like Chuck Jones. The Simpsons objectively and unambiguously had better animation timing, better drawings, better layouts, and over all just more lasting appeal and quality. This can be succinctly proven by the fact that so many Simpsons scenes are so memorably executed or have become internet screenshots. The Simpsons frankly just had better talent, like Brad Bird, the Disney student who went on to create some of the best animated films. So yeah my basic thesis is that The Simpsons is the real GOAT and Tiny Toons just don't like that.
I don't think Babs was funny. I did think Buster was funny, but I attribute that more to Charlie Adler's natural propensity for comedy than I do the character.
The Plucky road trip segments of the DTV movie are incredibly funny and to this day I still hold my breath when going through a tunnel.
>I... CAN'T... MAKE IT!
The poor bastard.
The Baby Plucky episodes still make me laugh harder than they should, especially the minigolf one.
>water go down the hoooooole
Tiny Toon Adventures is a show abou-
Lost.
>without getting horny
Alright, thread over.
my beloved <3
easy lost furgay
SEXOOOOOOOOO
Tell me why Fifi’s still stuck as a virgin with rage.

I… goddamnit, lost.
Retroactive incest.

Tiny Toons used to be loved, but is now panned because of Twitter.
Even before that, the survining Looney Tunes staff didn't like it.
They are right, it does suck

No they're not, the show is a masterpiece.

holy based
Freleng didn't like it while Jones thought the characters were moronic step children.
They both thought Animaniacs was a massive improvement.

Jerry made a big mistake watching this show to take his mind off sex.
Wow, western fans are responding to tiny toons reruns and they're not happy.
Take me back please.
Debunked
What is?

Tiny Toons and Animaniacs are better then The Simpsons, we been through this before.
Lol in what universe?
The one where Simpsons last had a decent episode 25 years ago, had more bad episodes then good and ruined adult animation
I’d say South Park and Family Guy had a worse impact on adult animation, taking what didn’t work about The Simpsons and making them seem like the things that made it successful.
The Simpsons WAS adult animation. What do you count as the real kickstart to adult animation, Fritz the Cat?

>that episode where Babs shoves her whole foot in Buster’s mouth while doing an Andy Warhol impression
Post it.
not enough slapstick for a show that's supposed to be about future looney tunes
The reboot is even worse about that.
>Talk about this show without getting horny.
Can't dude. Babs Bunny was the first time I ever felt sexual feelings. I was so confused. Then it was Callie Briggs.
Are you Ted Turner?
>Talk about this show without getting horny.
Uhh
ngl i kinda want to see what wouldve happened if those anime studios made legit looney tunes shorts
>The Simpsons, a show that literally made Adult animation during prime time a viable thing is worse than Tiny Toon Adventures, an okay at best kid’s cartoon

Even the world’s biggest Tiny Toons fan will pick apart the animation quality. And they did in the final episode.
Wasnt the final episode the Halloween special from 1995?
?feature=shared
Yeah, the Halloween special that aired in May.
I still absently sing Particle Man at times.
Hot take
I don't think Babs was funny. I did think Buster was funny, but I attribute that more to Charlie Adler's natural propensity for comedy than I do the character.
I liked it a lot as a little little kid but I barely remember it
Just watch the Plucky show for many of the best shorts.
