>Tarsem Singh reached out to Criterion to publish The Fall, they say no.
>"We had that connection through our attorney and we opened dialogue with Criterion. They ultimately said it's not for them, it's not the kind of film they release, which sucks because a lot of people love that movie, man."
You people shitting me? The Fall is one of the greatest movies ever made. Justify yourselves /film/

Baffling
It's really hard to find this movie.
How is The Cell?
I recently thought about this movie. It was that the director is a total hack and its a complete waste of film.
>Lets make a terrible fricking movie
>But lets make it look gorgeous! That will save it!
No. You mad something that looks pretty with absolutely no substances behind it in order to scam people into thinking its art.
Imagine asking criterion to put out your movie, that's probably an automatic no from them. They put out some absolute crap, but seriously
Agreed. They shouldn't make it but they're hypocrites for saying no cus there's some bad movies in their collection.
Its called chutzpah, if you don't have it, you don't get anywhere in life. You have to be totally shameless in your endeavors, and promotion.
Feel like Arrow would put this out without a second thought, he's just barking up the wrong tree
I laughed when it shows all the different ways that guy lost his arm real fast.
doesn't Criterion put out tons of slop movies now?
I guarantee they'll do Barbie or some shit
They probably will, Greta Gerwig is part of Criterion circle after all.
His movies look good but aren't good
Criterion doesn't have any Kitano film in their catalogue why would they want this pajeet?
You know Criterion isn't appointed by the government to get to just release whatever they want, right? The people who actually made the movie have to say okay. Kitano probably has no idea who Criterion are and wouldn't be interested if he did.
The revival is fricking kino.
I'm sure he know since criterion release other famous jap films. Arrow did put out a bunch of kitano films past few years
They don't even release Criterion titles in Japan, frick, the UK didn't even start getting them until 2016
Why would they. Criterion put shit out for burgers who want to watch foreign shit
I legit have been checking Amazon off and on for years to see if a new print has ever been released. One of Lee Pace's best films easily.
Dude looks exactly like Casey Frey
Looked him up and no. That guy wishes he was as handsome as Lee, mayn.
I work at Criterion. Things are super fricked.
The Criterion Channel/streaming shit beggered us and when we got bullied to put out more darkie shit (SJW fricks got pissy that we didn't have enough black centric shit even though we have a healthy and diverse collection of films for sale, especially Asian ones) which cost more money and sold like shit, losing us money.
We are currently barely staying afloat due to licensing films to air on TCM and pushing a good chunk of our budget to putting out blu-rays and blu-rays only of new releases, most of which are big named movies since blu-ray stuff sells better than regular DVD stuff.
We turned down "The Fall" because it's not darkie material and quite frankly, we don't have the money to go hog wild as we have to put out a bunch of darkie shit to silence the SJW types and then spend money on big name movies just to keep our lights on.
>We have diversity and by diversity I mean we’re weebs
Even if you're roleplaying I believe it wholesale.
That makes sense. Criterion has been making one bizarre choice after another as of late.
Why do you keep fricking up color correction and ruining movies?
Lmao yeah, I remember Criterion's edition of Memories of Murder to be especially atrocious.
> We turned down "The Fall" because it's not darkie material
Can’t you guys just spin the narrative like how Tarsem is the first Sikh director or some shit like that and publish it
It’s a great movie tbh
IIRC Warner Brothers owns Barbie in so far as Robbie/Gerwig sold all distribution rights to Warner Brothers indefinitely.
So that means that any and all DVD and blu-ray releases of Barbie will be through Warner Brothers. who will most definitely keep the title's home video release in house so they get all of the DVD/BR sales money.
Warner is already DESPERATELY needing money and won't license the movie out to Criterion because they need the cash. Adding to this, Mattel won't fricking let Criterion get the film licensed to them, because Criterion films aren't sold in big box stores like Wal Mart and like Warner, will want the DVD sold in as many stores as they can get it into.
Criterion put out fricking Jennifer's Body in their collection.
O rly?
>blu-ray stuff sells better than regular DVD stuff.
u don't say
>They ultimately said it's not for them
they probably wanted to add blue filter all over the movie and the director refused
good for him.
