Post your ideas for the next incarnation after Seth Rogen’s Mutant Mayhem cartoon inevitably fails.
I say no more first season setup when we all know the origins and main cast at this point, go straight ahead to a Shonen style tournament with a focus on action and martial arts choreography. You can keep the monster of the week stuff with an overarching goal unlike Rise and not have the Turtles start off with zero experience for like the fifth time already
I'd just like to see something that actually spends some fricking time with the basic premise for a bit. Just some street level ninja shit. Let the characters breath before bringing in the aliens and the interdimensional shit.
2003
the quality of 2012 nosedives the moment enemy mutants get introduced. It's a shame.
I always thought it was fricked up just how many of the mutants in 2012 were caused more or less by the turtles.
These designs is like a modernized version of the 2003 turtles, nice.
I like how they have a little bit of everything but streamlined to make sense. The colors are slightly different like in 2012, white eyes and general physiques like in 2003, 1987 belt buckles, Rise like design deviations but lessened to a not as comical degree
It's really not that hard to get their designs right. 40 years of TMNT media and we've pretty much got it down to a science and it's nothing but hubris for an artist to think they can drastically alter that formula and still expect it to work.
Jesus those are some good quints
>It's centred around News Reporter April
>The Turtles look like they did in the original comics
>They all talk like 90s surfers (they learnt about this culture through VHS tapes of obnoxious 90s shows)
>Each one has only one trait that separates them from the others (Leader, Smart, Violent and Comedic)
>Splinter used to be a human scientist working for the Krang corporation
>He was turned into a Rat by his fellow employer Baxter Stockwell
>Stockwell uses the mutagen to transform people (usually criminals) to do his bidding
>In the end Stockwell creates Stag Beetle inspired body armour becoming this universe's Shredder
What does April have to do with it if she's the POV character?
She’s investigating the Krang corporation and that leads to her meeting the Turtles.
Stylized anthology mini series that is about different people recounting their experiences with the tmnt. Since they live in the shadows you get to play around with what they look and feel like for each short. One has a guy recount them being goofy juvenile teenagers and has an art style to match that vibe. One is told from the pov of a crook who thinks of them as horrifying boogeymen like figures etc. This won't have the longevity for a full series but I think it be an interesting little one off thing.
Anthologies like that are always the best excuse to use wildly different art styles and storytelling.
If I had my druthers and could do a TMNT movie/TV show/whatever...
Focus more on the ninja stuff and then eventually work up to the really outlandish sci-fi stuff.
The main story would follow an underground fighting tournament held by the Foot Clan, which is not only a ninja clan but an actual criminal organization that through ties to a still-legit Baxter Stockman is trying to corner the illegal weapons market on alien tech/super tech/mutagen.
At this point in the story Splinter has raised the Turtles for the goal of revenge by killing the Shredder. The Turtles will save people from muggers before disappearing into the night, but out of their own free will not through Splinter's orders.
The Turtles enroll in the underground fighting tournament with the express purpose of killing Shredder. Along the way they meet Casey Jones as another fighter, April O'Neil as an undercover reporter, and then the big reveal is the tournament showcases mutant mercs working for the Foot that are being kept secret by them. This would include Leatherhead and Kitsune from the Archie comics, as well as non-mutants like a Triceraton soldier.
This is how I'd want the TMNT to look
Interesting plot, but that art style would be unwatchable.
>I LOVE BEIN' A
>I LOVE BEIN' A
>I LOVE BEIN' A TURTLE!
>TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!
>TURTLES COUNT IT OFF!
Mogs every anime opening
2012 theme is better
I want a cartoon with super low-budget animation. And I want the Turtles to be kids. Like, really young kids. Also I want their supporting cast and villains to be kids, too. Oh, and I want them to go to school. And I want it to be super humorous with cringey meme humor and lots of modern references like TIk Tok and stuff.
>the bundle is nearly 30 dollars for all 4 turtles
>No bundles to split the Turtles cheaper
>Not even a pizza glider to go with them or any cowabunga sprays or emotes
>None of their themes for a Jam Session or the Festival
Why did Epic do them so dirty, Cinemaphile?
They have four TMNT themed instruments for Festival, but the shop keeps glitching and most people can't see them. Also the instruments are like $15 dollars. Each.
Dumb
Also, there is a bundle for the Turtles. But again, glitched shop.
anyways

This is going to end with Armaggon eating the plot into a full reset/retcon, isn't it?
Anyone else feel like they could hear the Back to the Future theme in the last few pages?
-As said before, have them already have met April and Casey to save time.
-The Foot clan are a mysterious illuminati-esque association with various connections throughout the world with Shredder being viewed as some sort of dreaded boogeyman.
-Krang is eventually revealed the Ultrom that actually created the original mutagen.
-The Mutanimals are a vigilante group of mutants the turtles met throughout the show lead by Leatherhead
People are always pinning and focusing on the whole Teenagers part of the title, but also conveniently forget that they're also ninjas too
Make each turtle the leader on their own area of expertise and make it so each had their own time to shine
>Leonardo
All around leader but he excels in actual ninjutsu, infiltration and espionage
>Raphael
Battle expert and frontlines leader he knows how to play each of his brothers strengths in an offensive approach
>Donatello
Technology and detective skills where he uses his brain to connect the dots of mysteries and machines
>Michaelangelo
He's the guy that knows how to people, the guy with the charisma checks and connections specially in night NewYork
And if you need April and Casey, she's basically the kunoichi of the group, where she can go to places in daylight, cuz a group of mutated turtles could attract too much attention and she uses her charms to her advantage to get leads and clues to the turtles while Casey is the one who protects her and bails her out if things get ugly
People have been hyperfocusing on the teen thing so much lately and I don't even understand why they think high school drama and dating are somehow an integral part of TMNT that needs to be explored. "Teenage" doesn't mean being an exact mirror of the most stereotypical kind of modern real life kids. It means they're inexperienced, immature, smartasses. That shit works for every other teenage superhero, but for some fricking reason everyone is like
>you know what the TMNT need? More tiktok meme humor. That would make them feel just like real teens. The fact that they weren't making tiktok references and talking about anime before made it really hard to believe these mutant ninja turtles were actually in their teens.
>high school drama and dating are somehow an integral part of TMNT
because this is what keeps people tuning in
It's literally never been a thing that's been a meaningful part of any previous TMNT iteration ever and is likewise not a major aspect of most other teen heroes.
But what people love about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in order are Ninja>Mutant>Turtles>Teenage
That’s why I’d rebrand the whole thing as “NINJA TURTLES” instead.
Eastman wouldn't allow that because the only time Ninja Turtles was used was Next Mutation and he'll throw a fit.
Everyone calls them the Ninja Turtles anyway. Barely anyone says the full thing.
They’ve become more incompetent with each incarnation.
This feels like the same mistake Marvel made with Spider-Man where they over-focused on the teenager part
I just want the 2003 versions to make a return like Maguire
Which is funny because OG Spidey started when he was 17 and in his Senior Year. Spidey was never about youth, but about growing up and learning to be a better person. It’s a coming of age story.
I think because it's a new direction for the franchise. They're most often written like mini adults so really focusing on the teen label is a quick way to freshen things up. I don't mind it in theory but I didn't like the way Mutant Mayham handled it.
Nobody cares about the teen shit though. They care about the mutant ninja aspect.
"New" doesn't mean "good"
Those legs are way too long.
Martial artists are supposed to have long legs.
yeah but turtles arent
>2003 TURTLES IS THE BEST, IT'S SO CLOSE TO THE MIRAGE COMICS
No the frick it's not, holy shit. They didn't even have the balls to kill off Splinter. Only series that did that was 2012.
Season 1 = A plot is focused on street level crime | B plot is focused on stopping oppressed mutants from mutating the city
Season 2 = A plot is focused on organised crime/ninjas connected to the street level crime from season 1 | B plot is focused on stopping the secret government experimentation that is resulting in mutants
Season 3 = The B plot from season 3 results in the turtles being sent into the a messed up cyberpunk future where people are regularly turned into mutants, and trying to find a way home
Season 4 = The turtles return home put stop to the organised crime/government mutant frickery for good
There. We have crime, ninjas, mutants, an excursion season, and no unnecessary seasons.
Actually fricking use the extended cast. Bring in Monty Moose, Sandstorm, Hotspot and Sgt. Bananas. Bring in Archie comic characters. Bring in Fleetway characters. Bring in Mirage, Image, and IDW characters. Bring in the Konami game exclusive characters. Fricking bring in the characters from the Spanish comic where they're called Tortugas.
I'd say do the opposite. IDW shit its pants so many times trying to contrive reasons to bring back old characters who appeared for sometimes less than a few pages just because it was a nostalgia callback. We don't need fricking Mutagen Man and Scumbug and Ray Filet in every TMNT series.
No. More. I need more.
Less is more.
Do any of these series use actual martial art techniques?
Mikey does capoeira sometimes
turtles get ipad
I want a game. Yakuza 0 but it's turtles, basically.
How would that work with the turtles not being able to just walk around in public? Only works if the setting is Mutant Town.
Have them frick around in Japan instead of NYC.
I know she gets flak but Karai could work if she serves as the turtles evil counterpart IE while the turtles had a loving foster father who taught them to do good Karai was raised by an abusive Shredder to carry out his brutality and chaos etc. with him being viewed more as Splinter’s evil counterpart like the first movie. Maybe she even gets mutant powers and creates her own group of Foot-engineered mutants.
Is she still Leo’s girl?
The turtles and April go on a road trip to investigate a conspiracy. In each episodes, they would visit new places and meet new characters, some of whom would be recurring - like a villain following the turtles. Some episodes would be fun stand-alone adventures while others would build up to the overarching plot. Basically the first Ben 10 series.
Do you guys think the Turtles' bandages should be colored as well? Or just stay white?
I don't see any reason to change the color of their wraps. My only autism gripe with them is that some artists tend to be somewhat random with them for no good reason. Like in the Fortnite designs, why are they all wrapped almost to their elbows? Why the random wraps above the knee? Hand and foot wrapping is a common safety practice in competitive sports to reduce injury, but there's a specific way to do it and even then, you usually put protective padding over it.
Just white. They don’t need to look like rainbows
definitely back to the basics, and don't make April a frumpy nerd, can she be hot again you got Irma for that frumpy nerd anyways.
Wouldn't kill the series to introduce a few new characters, either way. Keep April as April. If someone wants a black girl ally to the turtles, just write up a new one. It's not clever or creative or even remotely interesting to make an inferior character with someone else's name.
