Nick is hilarious regardless of the stav laughtrack. His stand up isn't great but there are very few who are. Stewart Lee norm, and Rodney are the only ones I can tolerate personally

NY scene is a mess and stagnant because anyone worth a frick is always going to move. SNL is only changing staffs now after like 8 years with the same unfunny people. And they haven't made a star in almost two decades. Davidson is known more for his exploits than anything he's actually done.
Nick isn't really that great at stand-up either, but he'd be fine on a writing team. He definitely needs a filter. Most of his stuff actually bombs and his impressions barely sound like the person he is attempting to riff. Unfortunately, writing gigs are pretty much determined by how unfunny you are and quota's so he's kind of fricked.
