Jar Jar Binks is gay and stupid.
He’s comic relief for kids.
That didn't refute his point.
meant for
are you drunk or something?
he came up with midichlorians because he needed an excuse for why everyone doesn’t use the force
How hard would it have been just to say “not everyone is very spiritually in tune, or willing to dedicate the time to become so”?
Because that's not how the force works, unironically. If anyone can just dedicate time to it then why wouldn't everyone do it?
For the same reason not everyone becomes a high-level boxer?
But anyone can exercise and a lot of people do. Not everyone becomes mayweather but many people do some level of physical training. Really dumb analogy from you bud.
>Really dumb analogy from you bud.
no, actually, his analogy was fine, you're just moronic.
>high level boxer
>Mayweather
>Tyson
I meant literally just becoming a decent boxer, not a fricking heavyweight world champion. Ok let’s make it more clear and say become a black belt in BJJ. Most people could achieve that but they don’t because they’re busy with life or they lack interest or discipline. Same reason they should have said not everyone becomes a jedi.
BTW this was George Lucas’s original concept when he was making the OT.

moron
meant for
?
Them lacking interest and discipline is exactly why most can’t achieve it. They’re just different people.
So genetics?
Yes anon, genetics are the reason you’re a fat dope with no accomplishments to his name. It has nothing to do with self-discipline.
Nice projection.
The well-studied comeback of the terminally online
There's no need to be upset.
Personality traits are genetic. If you’re genetically predisposed to become a fat frick loser then that’s how you’re gonna be.
Most people can’t be Mike Tyson.
I legitimately can't tell if you can't tell you are agreeing with me and just don't realize it or you are just agreeing with me.
>If I just insist he's agreeing with me then I win
In the OT, it’s because it’s not literal do-anything magic.
I think midiclorians were invented as a way to quantify the Force. Anakin having the highest recorded midiclorian count is an easy way to show he is strong with the Force.
The cutting between the lightsaber duel, the naboo space battle, and the gungan land battle is awkwardly paced.
watch the RLM reviews
OP doesn't even need to refute these because they refute themselves
Just watch the Plinkett review.
I have none because I've never seen any Gay Wars movie.
Grow up and quit watching childish banalities.
Why are you on Cinemaphile if you think this way? I'm being serious.
What the frick does that even mean?
Cinemaphile is not *just* capeshit and cringe wars.
Just get off Cinemaphile you weirdo phoneposter. You should really stop focusing on childish banalities.
Being on Cinemaphile is just about as childish as watching Star Wars.
It was too short
I feel like Mr Plinkett already said all there is to say about this starslop.
It isn’t good
As a child I loved Jar Jar and was disappointed his role got reduced in the sequels.
Do you still live with your parents or are you functional enough to live without assistance?
Honestly as a kid I was pretty impartial to Jar Jar. I didn't find Binks funny, but also didn't hate him.
Same here. He was like C3P0 to me, kind of annoying but really not a big factor in my like/dislike of the series. However he has become hilarious to me with time as I've come to realize some people find him genuinely enraging.
The stakes are vague and nebulous. If the heroes lose, what happens? Trade federation turns Naboo into a ancap hell? Do they just loot everything and then leave?
They were putting the civilians into camps and we're going to genocide the gungans. Pay attention next time moron.
>genocide the gungans
WTF I love the Trade Federation now
Where was that in the movie?
It's only mentioned through dialogue, not physically shown but they reference the Trade Federation sending people to "camps"many times over.
I can't even remember that and I've seen the movie a dozen times.
Gooberfish
Jar jar scenes
Anakin is a child slave in death races
Plot makes very little sense even for star wars
So they uhh race a child slave to get parts for their spaceship
Even though child slavery is really illegal
And they are Jedi
Rather than just take it
Because taking it is illegal
So better do slave child death race
Oh better leave his slave mom
We didn't buy her and that's illegal
But slavery is illegal
But jedi...
Slavery was legal on that planet. Anakin loved to race Quigon could sense he had meticlorians. Also none of the racers die.
As an intergalactic peace keeping force, they had to adhere to the laws and customs of Tatooine. What's really strange is how Padme couldn't buy the ship parts and Anakin's mom with the Naboo royalty credit card?
It shouldnt exist. The prequel film trilogy should have started with Padawan Anakin in the midst of the Clone Wars and then gone from there. Give us two movies with him as a grizzled war hero instead of
>baby anakin
>mopey teen anakin
>dumbass young adult anakin
B1s were cool though
Why did the two jedi in the beginning use a special force speed ability but it was never used again?
Still waiting for you refutations, OP.
There's no protagonist
it has its moments
It's unnecessary.
Do you think I want to see Julius Caesar going through puberty and learning to talk to girls? No, I want to see him genocide Gauls and crossing the Rubicon with an epic soundtrack and massively expensive shot with thousands of extras.
Literally, you can skip this movie and NOTHING about the next two films change at all nor is any motivation of any character diminished. You could stretch out the Clone Wars to cover two films and have Revenge of the Sith as is and it would work much better.
EP 1- The Clone Wars
EP 2- The Fall of the Republic
EP 3- Revenge of the Sith
There.
Lucas should have scrapped EP 1, edited it into an hour film about a poor kid from Tatooine who becomes the inspiration for Luke growing up and called it SW Adventures or some shit and kept producing the prequel trilogy.
>"Oh, we're still working on the prequels, we were just making this to test CGI technology. Wires got crossed with the announcements, this is not the final product for EP1. We thought it would be a cute fun short film, which helps me get my mojo going as far as creativity. I toyed with the idea of making the lead Anakin but, it didn't work. Too busy and complicated of a concept, so we went with this for the kids."

>Do you think I want to see Julius Caesar going through puberty and learning to talk to girls
That's basically what S1 of Rome is, (but with Octavian) and the characterization just makes the show stronger later on
>No, I want to see him genocide Gauls and crossing the Rubicon
Stick to John Wick and The Avengers then
Anakin should have been older, having a decoy queen was confusing, having padme being a queen AND a senator was confusing, queen's entourage should have been smaller and less stiff in general. Other than that, great film.
The cg looks like a really impressive PS2 game
Anakin and Padmé didn't have a sex scene.
Wasted.
Qui Gon was made obviously because they didn't expect Liam Neeson to say yes and splitting Obi Wan into essentially two characters did no favors to both actors, with Obi Wan actually getting the least from it. It could've worked if Lucas emphasized Ben's insecurities about taking up Anakin as his student way too early than he should've in the later movies, but Lucas just never did.
anakin building c3po is fricking stupid
why?
It insists upon itself
It was the first movie ever that felt corporate. Too many cooks. Was entertaining but exhausting in the end.
>Too many cooks.
that wasn't the problem. The problem was Lucas was the one in charge of everything.
Not his fault. Lucas asked all of his director friends to direct the movies and they all said no.
Also selling merchandise and collectible pepsi cans before the movie came out.
It's literally the opposite of corporate, it's the singular vision of an artist who had final say on everything. The issue is whether or not that vision was any good.
It was never going to be any good to fans who used Star Wars like their own personal sandbox.
morons forgot this was George's property, not theirs..
The PT were technically indie films since Lucas funded everything. They are very much HIS movies.
Lucas ran his indie studio like a corporate CEO, so there was little difference in the end.
It’s his business, dude. His company, his rules.
The Pod Racing event is like 15% of the films runtime and can be summed up as "Anakin races and wins".
You can say that about any race in fiction.
There's no reason it had to take place on the new Naboo when Alderaan was right there to be expanded on, when the movie was already using Tatooine.
Qui-Gon is cool but the whole movie can be scrapped from existence with zero repercussions to the franchise.
The Prequel trilogy should've started with AOTC.
>The Prequel trilogy should've started with AOTC.
lmao, that's the one that can be scrapped without anyone noticing. Nothing happens except getting clones and that doesn't really need to be shown.
AotC is needed for Anakin and Padme’s romance.
Hard disagree. AOTC sets up the civil war and Palpatine's rise to power. Impossible to yank it all out.
The whole point of it was to show Anakin as this bright eyed kid who wants to do good, so that it hits harder when he becomes Darth Vader. We see him at his most innocent before we see him at his most villainous.
But then in Clones he's already a bad apple.
No, he’s just a teenager who’s frustrated with a lot of the shit in his life.
Anakin was never a bad apple. He was just misused by the Jedi and manipulated by Palpatine, his actions were only ever in the interest of the common good even if they were frequently misguided. That is the entire point of Star Wars lmao.
It's plot revolves using child slavery to free a child slave and abandoning his mother to be a slave by law keepers and slavery is illegal.
Tatooine is in the Outer Rim, which is outside the Republic’s jurisdiction. The Jedi can’t just do whatever they want, and they didn’t feel the need to free Anakin’s mother due to the whole “no attachments” rule.
I really dislike how Anakin was able to take on an army of separatist droids and successfully destroy their command center, as a 9 year old
I'm sure you wouldn't have liked that, Viceroy.
He’s the Chosen One. Literally Force Jesus.
Would've much preferred more Darth Maul and Sideous screen time over that whole segment
sith lord jar jar is abandoned.
Darth Jar Jar was clearly the incoming twist but they backed out instead of making pure KINO. For this I can never forgive TFM.
I watched it as a kid and enjoyed it thoroughly
Why were the Jedi sent as diplomats on behalf of the Republic? They were just space monks, not politicians.
Not trying to make SW deep or anything but historically monsk were often spies and diplomats, what with being educated (which at the time meant higher intelligence) and had a reason to travel around the world without raising too much suspicion.
Jedi are more than just weirdo religious nuts with magic swords. They were basically a galactic police force, and sometimes negotiation is part of policing.
>The Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic.
>We're keepers of the peace, not soldiers.
They’re peacekeepers who work with the Republic.
They weren't just space monks. They were the Republic's Praetorian Guard. Basically their only method of law enforcement. Yes, the republic was a highly decentralized, rotten mess which is why it failed. The Jedi were out of scope.
