shows awesome. when i was a kid i always used to write short stories about some operator who comes home and his family is killed as part of some vast conspiracy. i was reading and playing a lot of tom clancy books and games. this series scratches all of those itches. its more than just operator kino though, its a great political thriller. virtually no woke or pozzed concepts at all.

      >virtually no woke or pozzed concepts at all

      Except when:

      (1) Reese escapes by landslide. And then helps the asphyxiated FBI c**t

      (2) Ben taking a cut of the action, then letting Reese executing him without a fight

      (3) the last pair of Talos PMCs killed instead of simultaneously rushing Reese, and killing him

      (4) Ching Chong Buranek surprising the hitman with one shot in the Transbay Terminal stairs despite having no firearms training

      (5) FBI loser-cuck not shooting Reese in the back on the beach

      Yeah. "Not pozzed". LOL

So glad I didn't pay for it.

Even Generation Kill had more operator action than this shit.

Every episode has an action scene, usually a gun fight. One of the episodes is an hour long chase sequence, for fricks sake.
How much more action do you need? Should it have forgone plot entirely and just been a lot of shooting on the screen?

        Anonymous

I wanted proper gritty special forces operator action, not ultra polished clean 24 gun fights.

He gutted a man in Mexico and blew a guy's brains out all over the sidewalk in downtown SF. I didn't think anything about it was polished beyond him having plot armor, but if the show was gonna make it to the end he at least had to live until the end. What exactly did you want? Because I often feel like I have unrealistic expectations for action in films and I was content with this. I'm a little surprised this wasn't enough for some.

After Mexico is when I found that it jumped and became another show like 24, very unrealistic compared to the first episode. The Rambo lite episode was also not good.
It needed a more dark and realistic approach to the gun fights, that would have elevated to great, it's was an enjoyable show to binge but that's about it for me.

My favorite of all of them was honestly 5 and 6. I liked him setting off the bomb despite the journo being in his way I honestly didn't think he'd do it or she'd move or some shit. And I liked the clever ways he used to evade the manhunt and how he stunted on the glowie boys and stole their shit. But I guess I can understand wanting it to be a bit more grounded.

He tells her to her face that if she inserts herself into this conflict again the consequences are on her. He still hesitates.

That is all true. I still, on top of that, did not think he would do it. I was not sure it was that kind of show until that moment, which is why I liked it. Even the guy getting straight gutted was justifiable but he really just violated his promise not to harm civvies and let rip with a focused blast pointed at a fricking crowd lmao

nta but the only thing I was really disappointed in was how they cut the escape from fbi short
they should've at least shown him escaping in the river and some of the followup
it just cuts like it didn't even happen

Generation Kill is literally them in the middle of an active war.

The flashbacks were overused in my opinion. Tbh I can't blame them. There wasn't really much content there. In my opinion they should have
    >had more initial content of the unit
Not action stuff. Just guys being bros and humanise them so that we as the audience care. I don't care when I see his friends die or the flashbacks because I don't know them. 30 seconds of screen time prepping a mission isn't enough. Do more of what the intro to lone survivor did.
    >more time with the main character before the mission
I want to see the man he is before his brain gets fried.
    >more clues to the tumor beforehand
Very subtle impossible to pick up details you won't realise until you think about it later on. That 10 second, "ooo are you alright bro" moment was irrelevant.
    >literally anything that shows his brother was feeling guilty
That reveal was so bad because it was a random subversion. "ooo look his brother who helped him the whole time with no sign of anything off until the last 10 minutes was actually feeling guilty all along, couldn't you tell bro".

I liked the idea, I liked the action, I liked the plot. Decent show but it could have been so much better

      > Do more of what the intro to lone survivor did.
Complete waste of time for 10 morons killt by an rpg immediately. Did nothing but highlight American military incompetence in the war

I'm just saying from a story telling perspective you can't just show meaningless deaths. Means literally nothing to the audience when you say an entire unit die. Why tf would they care about people they can't even name if they tried. Like that commie frick Stalin once said "One death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic" so showing me multiple seals die doesn't exactly make me tear up. Even when his friend whoever the frick died, we didn't care. The intro to Lone Survivor was good because it showed the human side of the guys we are supposed to care about and fear for when they're in danger later on and cry about when they die. Even if its a quick death from a RPG by Achmed the inbred goat fricker. One thing they should have done was show someone like Alexander Ludwig tearing up just before he crashed. Pull some more heartstrings in their death scene.

Here's the 10 minute intro. Way better than what they did with the terminal list. In my opinion the first episode should have ended with the failed mission. 30-40 minutes of content with the team would have meant a lot more to the story than 1hr of flashbacks to that dumb bird hitting the window.

I enjoyed it, but many aspects of the plot are moronic
    >Anti-PTSD drug working in animals, immediately jump to dosing SEALs
Starting with the most high value individual soldiers? Not doing an initial human run in mercenaries, foreign soldiers, or US grunts?

    >kill his wife and daughter because???
At first I thought he was going to get framed for their murder and have to clear his name, but that never happened. In hindsight, the family killing makes no fricking sense outside of trying to force character motivation

That said overall it was a fun series

A real veteran is your 300lb lab partner who smells like a dispensary all the time claiming weed is a good antipsychotic and mentions how his artillery position at the Battle of Fallujah was overrun by insurgents and how in the confusion he killed Iraqi children in close-quarters hand to hand combat. He looks nothing like Chris Pratt either.
