>T-800 is frightening and scarier than T-1000 >Terminator wears sunglasses to cover his cybernetic eye than to look cool like in T2 >Kyle Reese is more likeable protagonist because he uses his wits and tactics to fight against T-800 >Prime Sarah Connor >Sex scene
Based.
T1 is my favourite because of the soundtrack, the atmosphere, the fear that you're never safe, the relationship between Kyle and Sarah, the relentlessness of the Terminator.
Pretty much. People need to understand that T2, as good and beloved as it is, makes no sense and it was just the product of Arnold wanting to play the hero and being the good guy in the movie. He convinced the studio to make it and Jim Cameron to return even though he did not planned for a sequel and thought of The Terminator was a completed story (which it was). Biehn's Kyle Reese is one of the greatest protagonists of all time and Arnold's resentment for not having played the hero is the only reason T2 exist so it doesn't even have much effort put into plot stuff. The Terminator is utterly superior.
There is nothing in T1 that even begins to compare to the visceral horror of watching a city being swept away by a nuke and the ashes of a woman and her infant being blown away like so much dust. There is nothing in T1 that even begins to compare to the payoff of watching Sarah, who has been utterly terrified of these machines since the beginning of T1 finally shaking hands with a machine that has learned the value of humans in spite of its nature.
You can prattle on about actors and behind the scenes stuff all you want, but none of that has anything to do with the quality of the final product, which is superb.
>inally shaking hands with a machine that has learned the value of humans in spite of its nature.
completely undermining the threat of the machines. >they can't be bargained with
...but they can be programmed to your liking, eh? so why even want to bargain? t2 is absolute gutter-tier trash
>not an argument.
Were you under the impression that we were having some sort of debate? I suppose that's my fault for misleading you. I would never legitimize your moronic meanderings in such a way.
The premise of a normal guy fighting an invincible killing machine is much more interesting than slow robot fight fast robot. >humanity is le bad, war is inevitable, I am very deep
vs >it can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pain, pity, remorse or fear and it absolutely won't stop until you're dead >perturbator starts blasting
spoken like a schizo who doesn't understand stories are built upon their premises. T2 has nuclear war as a backdrop, not a theme, it doesn't have anything interesting to say about it. At least T1 doesn't pretend to be more than sci fi thriller. >wowzers dude he hid the shotgun in the roses!!! get it? shot GUN, roses. Gun, Roses. And then they played hecking Guns AND Roses broo!!
so it's the same concept, but with ebin robots? What's the point then? I know, Arnold wanted to be the hero.
judgement day is the background theme of both stories you fricking moron
t1 geeks really are a special type of le heckin 80s nostalgia morons despite not even growing up in the 80s
and you're a 90's nostalgia moron. I grew up in the 2000s with T3 and the rest of the garbage, so I have no claim to T1 and T2 and think T1 is better. If I say Rocky 1 is better than every other one are you going to say I have 70s nostalgia too?
do you not understand t2 is just a big budget remake of t1? its doing the same shit with a much larger budget. t2 is the movie cameron actually wanted t1 to be, a huge action blockbuster. it kind of fails at that so people trick themselves into thinking its better because of "horror" elements despite t2 having just as many horror scenes that simply look better with better props.
people who like t1 are just geeks who like bad actions scenes, bad 80s music, and terrible props. they like to call this stuff "movie magic" to give it a pass
so what if it's what cameron intended? his toned down vision was better. This is a recurring trend with directors, there's many examples of them making great movies with restrictions and when they get carte blanche and can "realize their vision" shitting out a giant log. Look at star wars.
T2. The effects hold up a lot better and the terror of the T800 in the first is minimized with the aged greenscreen and stop motion.
Plus I'm a sucker for bad ass good guy Arnold. Sue me.
I admit T1 is probably the better movie, solely by virtue of the absence of whiny thirteen year old John.
I like T1 more because it's more of a thriller. It's darker and more atmospheric.
T2 is a great action film, with better effects and is all round more polished but I dislike how it's more of a block buster action movie - with comedy forced in for some reason
t1 has a better story but t2 is a better movie. t2 is the movie cameron actually wanted to make but everything had to be downscaled in t1 because he didnt have the budget for the big action scenes he wanted to do. so basically when people say they like the rugged low quality action scenes and effects in t1 youre basically saying youre a moron who likes cheap crap
It's neo-hipster drivel. T2 is more popular, so they go the other way. Being a former hipster myself, I understand the behavior, and even fall back into it sometimes. But I'm not like these homosexuals. I was a proto-hipster, back in the 90s. I was wearing jeans so tight it took me 10-15 minutes just to get them off. The pockets were just there for decoration. And this was before jeans were all stretchy and accommodating and shit.
I was a hipster before it was cool.
i think people say t1 has a "horror" vibes because of the terrible low fi shitty music in it that is associated with bad 80s horror movies. thats about it, because t1 and t2 both have the same amount of "horror" moments in it. t2 just has bigger better action sequences

Go to bed, Michael

zoomera dont like t2 because john reminds them of themselves, a product of a single mother looking for a father figure
>inally shaking hands with a machine that has learned the value of humans in spite of its nature.
completely undermining the threat of the machines.

Your irrational vitriol for things that are popular has clearly impaired your ability to think. Hipsterism is indeed a vicious disease.
literally not an argument
>not an argument.
Were you under the impression that we were having some sort of debate? I suppose that's my fault for misleading you. I would never legitimize your moronic meanderings in such a way.
i accept your concession.
The premise of a normal guy fighting an invincible killing machine is much more interesting than slow robot fight fast robot.

Spoken like a man who decided the movie was inferior before he even watched it. Or you just didn't pay attention. Or both.
spoken like a schizo who doesn't understand stories are built upon their premises. T2 has nuclear war as a backdrop, not a theme, it doesn't have anything interesting to say about it. At least T1 doesn't pretend to be more than sci fi thriller.

I would wager he's probably really big into The Smiths, too.
the t800 runs away from the t1000 every time because he knows he cant beat it in a 1v1 fight... its basically the same thing with reese vs the t800
so it's the same concept, but with ebin robots? What's the point then? I know, Arnold wanted to be the hero.

Very very good sir !
The Terminator>T2
Alien>Aliens
>Alien>Aliens
aliens has something alien doesnt have: heart
Agree but Alien is in another league
Terminator >>>> T2
Alien 3 assembly cut = Alien >>>>>>> Aliens
>Alien 3 assembly cut = Alien >>>>>>> Aliens
more like aliens >> alien >>>>>>>>>>>>> alien 3 in any version
T2. The effects hold up a lot better and the terror of the T800 in the first is minimized with the aged greenscreen and stop motion.

Nothing in T1 can compare to the moment when Sarah shakes hands with the T-800. That scene was such an enormous payoff.
Terminator 1
T1 mogs. T2 has the annoying kid and its too pg
T2 is feminist so T1
I like T1 more because it's more of a thriller. It's darker and more atmospheric.
T2 is a great action film, with better effects and is all round more polished but I dislike how it's more of a block buster action movie - with comedy forced in for some reason
>cpunk thriller kino versus generic action flick
tough choice
Childhood is preferring T2
Adulthood is knowing T1 is the best
I pick T2. Badass mommy Sarah O'connor
i heard cameron originally wanted biehn for the 1000
The atmosphere and soundtrack of T1 are some of the most kino things ever put on film. T1 mogs
t1 has a better story but t2 is a better movie. t2 is the movie cameron actually wanted to make but everything had to be downscaled in t1 because he didnt have the budget for the big action scenes he wanted to do. so basically when people say they like the rugged low quality action scenes and effects in t1 youre basically saying youre a moron who likes cheap crap
T2 is better, people pick T1 just because T2 is insanely popular and considered the best action movie ever.
T1 has more of a horror vibe.
T2 is basically capeshit.
t1 does not have more of a horror vibe lol. idk where people come up with this shit. the nuke dream sequence is scarier than anything in t1 anyway
The pockets were just there for decoration. t1, because the blu-ray doesnt look like shit
>t1 is better bro
?feature=shared
listen to that stupid fricking music lmao
T1 soundtrack absolutely mogs T2. I can understand people preferring T2 over T1 as a movie but soundtrack wise it's not even close. You are autistic
>lived long enough for people to finally rank The Terminator superior to Terminator 2
I am so proud of you guys
T3 mogs both
I choose the first 4 Terminator movies then Sarah Connor Chronicles then Genisys/Dark Fate last.
