Terrible casting, how the frick can an actor of his magnitude fail at something as simple as holding his accent? it feels like a parody everytime he speaks

It really doesn't matter.
He's like 95 years old give him a break
Lisan al Gaib
I liked him, "you'd be a formidable empress" felt both funny yet sincere.
he's always been an awkward weirdo. The only movie he was perfectly cast in was the dead zone, which unfortunately became the only sort of character he can play.
he's pretty good in Nick of Time
thought he did well. in this version he feels like a helpless puppet and he gave me that impression
Rodney Dangerfield was the ideal casting for Emperor of Known Space
Why doesn't he use spice to not look like shit
he prefers clean living. straight edge emperor
Can the Emperor of the Known Universe be "punk"?
White people don’t know how to use spice.
His brother died of spice addiction. That’s why he only drinks Diet Spice.
he's honestly a shit actor, he has no range and frankly i'm so sick of people pretending half the A-listers alive today can act at all
the majority of them nowadays play themselves and don't even try, and then people have the audacity to shit on someone like Nic Cage when he actually goes and fully commits to every role he's in no matter what it is
literally random nobodies routinely give way better performances than A-listers and nobody shits on them nearly enough for it, take all their awards back
Having acting range is a meme.
so is his so-called talent
hi nick
It's because nobodies displaying captivating performances get pushed hard by directors. They also have a chip on their shoulder, with something to prove - it's a willingness to do better
It's a lot harder to be a c**t to an A lister, so you can't squeeze the performance you might need from them.
A good director can make a brilliant actor from anyone.
>The way your dad looked at it, this Ducal signet Ring was your birthright. He'd be damned if any Harkonnen was gonna put their pasty white hands on his boy's birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass.
I really liked his portrayal of an out of touch emperor. I wished they utilized him 'more, MORE!'
Didn’t he kill his wife?
Edward James Olmos, James Callis, Tony Curran... any one of them would have been much better and unexpected like Walken.
Villenew didn't tell him they were rolling so he was in rehearsal mode during the whole movie. He was set up to fail.
walk without rhythm
>The Emperor stood poised, waiting — a slim, elegant figure in a gray Sardaukar uniform with silver and gold trim. His thin face and cold eyes reminded the Baron of the Duke Leto long dead. There was that same look of the predatory bird. But the Emperor’s hair was red, not black, and most of that hair was concealed by a Burseg’s ebon helmet with the Imperial crest in gold upon its crown.
>yeah let's cast a senile old fart with no stage presence
Why does Hollywood hate red hair so much?
it was ok
This. I like Christopher Walken but his heart wasnt there. They should have go with Charles Dance or Anthony Hopkins
i think hopkins would have been great. And if he died before filming any others, denis could have just followed the book
The casting for this series was mostly terrible. Agreed on Walken. Chalamet was a good surprise, looks the part but I didn't think he could pull it off, but mostly did. Isaac as Leto was weird. Ferguson as Jessica was great. I would have cast Anya as Irulan though, Pugh was bad and is ALWAYS bad imo. Bardem as Stilgar good, Zendaya as Chani obviously terrible. Don't worry about Alia, it should have been a trilogy based on the first book, but oh well.
imagine this silver fox, waltzing into his throne room, barking orders at you, knowing shit you dont know and asking you questions to get you to expose yourself
K I N O
He should play LETO II
I dont think he's fast enough
Villanueve strictly wanted meme actors and actresses
>your father was a weak man, and I loved him like a son, that's why I had to help betray and murder him since he was getting too powerful
nothing about this character's motivations make any sense
>your father was a weak man
He was growing too powerful, not weak at all.
it's literally a line he says in the movie
Here’s your emperor bro
>just shows up and reads lines
>get paid millions for sub tier acting
Naw, it was just poor directing nobody could have done shit with what Walken was given. The sperg out the emperor does at the end of the book would have been great if Walken had walkened in it.
This fricking guy took me out of the movie. Why the frick does he talk like that. The few movies i have seen, he always talks like he's totally wasted. What's wrong with him.
