Because they didn't know what things people liked about it, only that they did like it. They also knew that enough of us are rubes that they'd make their money regardless
>based off game where the entire selling point is it using traditional golden-age-style cel animation for assets >make an adaptation of it where it's done in flash shit with a Netflix microbudget
what was even the point of this
While a cel animated tv series would have been cool, it wasn't feasible. The last cartoon to use cel animation was Whatever Happened to Robot Jones in 2002 if I remember correctly. >what was even the point of this
What else but money?
The animation wasn't the problem as much as the writing. It felt like a modern cartoon like Steven Universe wearing the skin of an older classic.
The old style of animation should have been supported of older styles of writing, crude humor, tom&jerry violence, you know, things people like about older cartoons that they are too afraid to recreate because of autistic blue haired people have much more power than they deserve.
>It felt like a modern cartoon like Steven Universe wearing the skin of an older classic.
I agree that the writing doesn’t work with the shows style but I wouldn’t say it’s SU like
It was pretty lame, anyway
it's a promise?
You all didn't make enough Mugman porn so you'll never get more Cuphead
I have no idea why they adapted cuphead but without the things people like about it.

cupcest
cupcest is best
What's next, a Pizza Tower show?
>get a Pizza Tower show
>it's Flash animated
flash is dead
Is it toon boom now?
yes
>get a Pizza Tower show
>it's Toon Boom animated
I'd prefer if it was flash.
The show was so shallow I never bothered finishing it.
It fell off after a while, but the animation quality was really good.
It was a fake classic style. Do the real thing or don't even bother
Only for the Gravity Falls decade

cel animation wasn't necessary for this, people just wanted the same fleischer style animation from the game but ended with a spongebob ripoff

I thought the rubber hose style was the selling point
Because it was shit, only beloved by cartoon autists and some manchildren
that could be anyone in this board!
Not me
I know it's you motherfricker, don't lie to me.
It wasn't even good as the game so nobody cared that it ended.
I can't believe this cartoon wasn't a series of challenging boss fights, what a rip off.
Totally get the complaints about it not being traditionally animated, but otherwise it was fine. Just autists complaining about adaptations.
I preferred picrel as far as vidya adaptations go. At least it had something of a conclusion.
Should have just been shorts like the mickey mouse series, but less of them and over a longer time so they looked amazing.
I wonder if that’s why this show isn’t liked here, since the Mickey Mouse shorts are mostly loved on Cinemaphile yet have a similar type of humor
read the comic instead
Good.
Why didnt it stick to the casino story of the games tho?
it's all one big prequel
The final episode of season 3 had a casino in the last minute
Mugman carries the entire show
It was just boring man. It wasn't really funny, nor was it surreal enough. It felt like a standard cartoon with Cuphead slapped on it.
>make game with classic cels and proper rubberhose animation
>make cartoon with anything but that
