Anyway the Alexanders became The Luthors, Olssons into Olsens, and two wealthy families helped build what would eventually be Metropolis as their feud continued. Long story short, their kin eventually had a son fall in love with the opposing family's daughter, sired a bastard, and somewhere in the Luthor bloodline is Olsen DNA.
