>writers want to make an episode about the characters getting a pet >don’t want to commit to keeping the pet as part of the series >turn it into a very special episode about loss
Now that I think about it, this happens enough that it’s kind of a trope. And it gives the impression that it’s common for a pet to just die tragically after like a day.
Kids have got to appreciate what death means at some point. Even nice-as-pie Sesame Street had a segment on death when Mr. Hooper's actor Will Lee passed away.
uhh won't they kinda learn it naturally? I dunno teaching kids about death seems weird like teaching them how to blink or breathe I feel like they'll figure it out on their own, no?
This ep was made because the Bagdasarians' dog got run over during the production of A Chipmunk Adventure.
Also the ep of Mighty Mouse parodying The Chipmunks had a character based on the dead dog. Apparently the Bagdasrians, whose studio was in the same building, were buttholes and let the dog run/shit everywhere and eventually the dog got run over so they added "Mashy The Pup"
Holy frick
pfffhaha
Could've been worse
>Alvin got a positive pregnancy test
that episode destroyed me emotionally

Now Sesame Street is a pure toddlers' brainwashing show with crap like BLM, LGBT Pride and vaccines propaganda

he's probably sterile from gunt heat, so luckily he doesn't need to worry about that stuff
