pugachev's cobra. yes i looked it up because of the movie
>not knowing from playing ace combat
Based. Re-download Ace Combat 7 after seeing Maverick
video games are for children and I am not a child
>video games are for children and I am not a child
Movies are for female children and you are one.
KEK YOU'RE POSTING IN A TOP GUN THREAD
unfathomably based
draken did it two decades earlier
yes i also looked this up, as of yesterday theres nothing i dont know about pugachev's cobra
syrians did it first
It's also just a neat trick and useless in any real combat scenario. Even if you manage to get your opponent to blow by you, you've just lost all your energy and are at a massive disadvantage. All he has to do is circle around and pick you off as you struggle to regain airspeed.
And this makes you a depressed frog?!
The Manlet Scientologist Getting Nicole Kidman Due To His Status Alone maneuver?
yes, like other anon said, pugachevs cobra, the rotating movement the su57 does is a little bit dramatized i think, but it should be possible for an incredibly advanced pilot in a plane like the su57 which is incredibly agile and has 3D thrust vectoring, and 10:1 thrust to weight ratio,
everything was filmed and its all real.
None of the SU-57, F-14, or any shot that includes both pilot and co-pilot on the two seat F/A-17s are real.
F/A-18s*
oh cool so like 3 shots in the whole film
this shit is kino bros
Nah it was real. Cruise even flew the planes himself
There is some stuff that was not all real. Any shot of the F-14 moving or Su-57s was just an F-18 or probably a stunt plane that they then CGI'd over. Also shots where you can see both pilots in the front and back seat (not that many, can only think of one or two where this happens) was not real since the front pilot always had to be a real navy guy.
is he in an f-14?
Yeah, stole it off third world base.
This shit is easy, I can do it in a cessna
it's completely possible, it's just an airshow trick
this.
it has a very niche role for nose pointing authority, but you're sacrificing all of your energy, so if you don't get that kill with that snapshot you just had, you're doomed
>he doesn't know
frickin cirque du soleil in the sky
<<We don't want to mess with this guy!>>
dump incoming
And an Su-57, about 0:30 in it does some stuff.
Look at it move its anus. It's turning me on.
so badass, its a real tragedy that all those fancy maneuvers, and speed, are basically made null by avionics
nah, just by simple physics. if you dump all your energy doing some fancy stall maneuver the other guy can just come around with his speed & energy intact and kill you at his leisure
Not at all. The real maneuver doesn't drop air speed to zero but certainly brakes hard putting you on their tail instead and perfect for a missile up the ass. But the primary reason it'd be rarely used is BVR missile fights becoming the norm.
>perfect for a missile up the ass.
How much energy do you think your R-73 is gonna have when it comes off a plane going <200km/h and the plane you're trying to hit is zooming away at 900km/h?
>Simple physics
Put it in writing it'll be easier for me to understand
in air combat
fast = alive
slow = dead
Even worse, these maneuvers are totally useless in modern jet combat. You could never dodge a missile with them, it will just proximity detonate as you try and dodge
Drinking game every time someone says 5th geneeration fighter you must take a shot
It is possible, but it would be the easiest kill a guided rocket ever had.
I’m pretty sure Tom was the first person to actually do it years ago. This was just the first time it was done with a camera in the wienerpit
And then there's this
Su-35 at MAKS 2017.
sorry
Who has a better entrance song at the bar
Rooster:
Hangman:
Neither, Peggy's entrance song wins
>have to merge with a sukhoi
>have to fight
ruh roh What do you do champ?
>Tom Cruise has to do a trench run through enemy territory
>Culminating in bombing a thermal exhaust port 3 meters wide
>Turns off his targeting computers, sinks the shot
>wienery teammate comes in at the last second to save him
Christ, even J.J. wasn't THAT blatant about it
You forgot the ghost of Goose appearing to him to give encouragement to just let go of his doubts and use instinct to make the shot. That was a bit egregious
Is based, no?
Star Gun Maverick is newest big kino, yes!
Stop spoiling moron many people haven't seen it yet
The manlet in a jet fighter? No
Entirely possible and supermaneuverability is old technology. The US Airforce came to the conclusion that it is kind of useless because you kill all your energy which makes you easy prey for your opponent. The Russians have continued to focus on it but I don't know of a single instance where it has actually been useful.
cope
>people with no experience flying regurgitating Wikipedia facts
Lol
>t. Ex-Naval aviator and current commercial pilot
Post pictures of you performing the cobra in your airliner?
Not so pilot now is it? Pilot man
I think every plane scene apart from mach 10 jet was physically possible and they actually got pilots to perform this. If not, then special effects were so good I can't tell the difference.
