Fun is the best word for it. It’s a lighthearted and wholesome film that feels like it was made by people who appreciate D&D and aren’t contemptuous of its nerdy fanbase. It’s not high art by any means, but is enjoyable.
This movie feels like the creators actually wanted to make a good movie but also had to follow the esg rules and the psyop where everything must suck so that there can be no escapism from the culture war. The end result is a sort of cautious enjoyment of a decent and fun film. It is entertaining, pretty, kinda funny a few times, kinda has a good message, and does not make me HATE, which is pretty good.
It's bad worldbuilding when you make a tabletop setting. In an ideal world you can't just say "My character is Black!" you'd ask where black people in the world come from and if they exist and would be relevant/able to reach wherever the story is taking place from the society they originate. Reverse is technically true too, but somethings got to be default.

Agree.
Unquestioned ethnic salads are bad settings by default
Yeah it was actually quite decent. No kidding, give it a chance. I chuckled quite a few times, it's inoffensive and fun. put it well.
Don't expect it to be LotR, it's not trying to.
It's what most movies used to be: silly fun and good action. Zoomers won't understand this because they we're born after the 90's, all they see is Black folk and politics everywhere.
Yah, it was. I really enjoyed it. Thought it was gonna suck, it didn’t.
I like that the american actors didn't try to put on an english accent.
Felt like a thrownack to 80s era fantasy films. I liked it quite a bit.
Only if you like shit
>Hairy ugly women in the 80s
>effeminate men in the 80s
>forced diversity in the 80s
nope
ugly women in the 80s
men in the 80s
diversity in the 80s
These all existed back then twat
Sure, we were always at war with eastasia anon
I refuse to believe any of this

It's D&D. You can play any ethnicity you want.

It was kinda refreshing to see a fantasy movie that doesn't try to make diversity its strength or whatever.
Weird that the bard and druid never cast spells though.
it was alright. better than I expected it to be but not good enough that I'd really tell someone they have to go see it.
Too many blacks. Thats a red flag.
the wizard lady has magnificent DSLs
Prove it.
The beginning is so fricking weird. I felt like I was going insane watching it. Can't even tell you what's wrong with it, pacing or something.
Post Doric
Yep
had some pretty good gags in it
I had no expectations but honestly it wasn’t bad. Don’t think I’d go out of my way to watch it again though.
I feel like owlbear's hulksmash moment was just before the hatred of the mcu really ramped up.
>Schizo has not been seen in 12 days
Is it over?
On one hand, it’s kinda sad he’s gone. On the other, everyone knows this is a mix of shilling and attempts to draw him out.
>shilling a year old movie that's no longer in theaters
No, these threads are just to draw him out.
movie would have done much better if it released after Baldur's gate 3
Balding Gay 3 will only be rememebred as gay porn
>Is your friend pretty?
>She's fun
D&D:HaT needed some hot Drow girls.
Or hot elf girls of any description.
fun movie. reminded me of 90s fantasy flicks
Is this woke? Did it bomb? I need an expert to tell me these things.
Yes and yes
WE ARE #1
It was literally Vox Machina for normies.
It has a black dude in it. Not gonna watch.
What's with all the racism on this board?
It's those heckin' redditors coming here posting it.
I see 3 Black folk too many already and I'm afraid there would be even more in the movie
>I see 3 Black folk too many
Are you looking at your family photo? (Dad not included)
>Dad not included
Just like Black folk
there’s like 3 white people in the movie and 2 are villains
They fricked up not timing the release and promos with BG3
Definitely. Especially when it's the same setting.
>Should have been connected to Gay Porn: the game
lol why?
There needs to be more movies where Michelle Rodriguez plays a feminine character, she's actually very pretty in real life.
Paladin acts like an actual paladin and is one of my favorite characters in the movie.
Based D&D enjoyers itt
What happened to that anon who always shitposts in the D&D threads?
holy shit he actually died
God willing. His autism rage ran rampant for far too long. He wasn't even funny to poke fun at. He was just fricking sad and pathetic.
>half-Black person says "I'm only half-human"
i am a simple man. i see fat dragon, i laugh and buy fat dragon merch
