It really does. Tired of these homosexuals complaining. Stanley Kubrick had no idea what he was doing with his movies. I think these no-name editors deserve more praise for fixing what Kubrick clearly couldn't.
>wanting a better home theater experience by trying the latest in TV technology makes you a brown third worlder
What? How do you figure that? Kek it's almost all whites with too much disposable income
>washed out whites >obvious film grain >no depth of field >no color correction to unify the shot with the right mise en scene
Of course Cinemaphile plebs don't appreciate modern post processing.
Someone posted this in another thread a while back and I asked if it was real. Never got an answer though. I assume the examples in this thread are just shitposts unless someone can come up with some links
The screen is supposed to have 1 primary focus point that the viewer is aware of and one maybe two secondary focus points for your subconscious to latch onto. Having the full scene full of visual noise none of which particularly grabs your attention is just bad directing. It's fine to make the scene hella busy if the point is to deliberately confuse the audience for a future payoff, but we all know that's not what's going on in most of the cases ITT
you make a good point actually, I took all the tech aspects for granted. What surprised me more is the visuals and audio, amazing stuff. However the script itself is disappointing, the boring scenes like the monkeys are way too stretched out, I feel like the movie would be better if it was 1 hour long

You guys are so filtered, please grow up, watch more cinema. You'll eventually get it. I mean this as an encouragement.
Not really when the entire problem is the modern attention span. I saw 2001 in a theater in the late '90s or early '00s and no one thought it was boring. I bet you think Scarface or The Godfather Part 2 are boring too.
2001 is really interesting to me as how it really revolutionized sci-fi movies. Same for The Exorcist. Can anyone name other films that revolutionized their respective genres?
Pop cultural references don't represent a revolution in filmmaking. The realistic gunfire from heat is a direct influence for the gunfights seen in the matrix.
The director of Silent Running, Douglas Trumbull, was the special effects supervisor for 2001. Working on it launched his Hollywood career, so 2001 is definitely responsible for Silent Running
Based. I still remember how much of an impact the weightless scene had when I first saw it. Great movie, great score too. I dated a zoomer girl who also found this movie boring despite having somewhat good taste otherwise, I maintain that modern attention spans are the problem.
The only timed I've bought the an upscaled from SD blurays was for SG-1. mostly because the DVDs weren't great transfers and the episodes on streaming sites, the last time I checked (a few years ago) where fricking interlaced TV rips that are worse than VHS. Top screenshot was from either netfix or hulu can't remember which as that show has bounced around more platforms than i can count

Only third worlders care about 4gay, if you care about pixels or editing in a 60 year old movie then you’re either a redditor or brown
>70mm film has pixels
>screens don’t have pixels
homie we aren’t in a kinoplex
>wanting a better home theater experience by trying the latest in TV technology makes you a brown third worlder
What? How do you figure that? Kek it's almost all whites with too much disposable income
It's horrid
4k is the upper one right?

I can't wait until the give these shots a once over with AI, imagine all the new details they bring to life, in 8K.
I LOVE CRITERION
This can't be real.

It's not
did they get zack snyder to remaster it?
I can't believe it looks like this
Are you actually moronic
SIRS
Why shitpost when there are so many real examples?
... Now post the 4K. You won't
Never bought it. They fricked up the transfer so many times, why get burned again.
Cause you're a fricking moron
Predator's 4k is great.
poor third worlders want to justify holdingg onto their YIFY rips
Pajeets actually don't torrent, they look on youtube for their mirrored 360p movies before they get deleted

Who cares. Someone tell Kuby that you can't play blue Danube 20 times and expect me to like your movie.
boring movie
I can appreciate it more knowing when they created it. They had realistic depictions of future tech like AI chess and robots.

Nta but watching more movies would make it more boring, not less.

alright what do I watch?
Start with the classics. Kurosawa, 7 Samurai.
why is it so red though? they pushed the reds up in the midtones for the entire film and it makes skin tones look weird.
the black rectangles are monoliths
That's no way to talk about your parents
ahh, much better
Bottom literally looks like someone took a pic of 2001 playing on their laptop.
why do they hate the bright colors?
People associate bright colors with childhood and generally good times. So ~~*they*~~ try to demoralize us by removing colors from everywhere.
>movie is on BluRay
>make everything blue
Bravo
zoomer here
if I am to watch your boring boomer movies they better have state of the arm updated effects
>state of the arm
Don't watch them, you don't deserve to.

The Godfather and crime films.
The Matrix and action films.
>the matrix
You mean Heat (1995).
I don't. The Matrix had a far larger impact across Hollywood and worldwide.
Pop cultural references don't represent a revolution in filmmaking. The realistic gunfire from heat is a direct influence for the gunfights seen in the matrix.
>Pop cultural references don't represent a revolution in filmmaking.
Not what I'm talking about. Unironically watch more movies.
I wonder if Silent Running would exist without 2001
Based sci-fi kino. A bit on the hippie side but I really like it.
The director of Silent Running, Douglas Trumbull, was the special effects supervisor for 2001. Working on it launched his Hollywood career, so 2001 is definitely responsible for Silent Running
Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks anon
Jaws revolutionized animal attack films.
doesn't make the movie any better. it's still the most boring and pretentious piece of shit ever put on film.
Daily reminder that:
Solaris > 2001
solaris is much more human than 2001
