Tom by far. His performances in Interview with the vampire and eyes wide shut are better than anything Brad has ever done. Not saying brad is a bad actor but tom is better.
>better filmography
I would probably put them about equal. Tom starred in kubrick kino but brad seems to have more 'good' films under his belt that arent just action schlock. Cruise is a better actor but decided he has to be an action star while pitt has got himself varied roles from big name directors who make good films instead. Which imo has worked better for his longevity.

Pitt is the better actor, he wins by default because by 2008, Cruise stopped trying to act and just plays himself. Literally no better than a Dwayne Johnson. He's just a box office draw for the masses. Pitt has constantly kept honing his craft and has gotten better with age, and has now surpassed Tom in terms of acting talent. Cruise makes the same movie for the last 20 years. Before had, he had better range than Pitt. In his last 10-15 movies however, Pitt mogs him. Its not even a discussion

I think the point we made and the point you made without intending to is that 95% of those good movies Cruise made were 20 years ago. He fell off. Movies he's made since were not bad, but simply not on Brad's level. You cant compare 10 mission impossibles to Pitts filmography in the same timeframe. Indeed but I still think Woo and Cruise delivered, on an action standpoint, a fricking masterpiece. i don't care about the story or le acting, the action set pieces are absolutely oustanding. Cruise looked the best and tried to make a James Bond movie first and foremost.

all forgettable slop, Edge of Tomorrow is a stone cold future classic.
At least cruise does better spectacle movies, the rock plays the same muscular guy in a jungle in a sweaty grey shirt every time, the last 3 mission impossible movies are far better action movies than anything the rock has ever done
The last 3 same mission impossibles out of 10? Oh sorry, was it 9? Cruise manlets are buck broken. Sorry, you have no comeback that wouldnt make this entire board laugh hysterically at you
Youre seriously putting the rock over tom cruise? lmao I dont need of any frickin morons approval if thats what you or the rest of this board seriously think
Cruise makes the same movie for the last 20 years. Before had, he had better range than Pitt. In his last 10-15 movies however, Pitt mogs him. Its not even a discussion
Cruise has been playing the same character for decades in all the MI shit and action movies I don't remember. Pitt is a character actor woth countless great roles as a lead and supporting actor
i wouldn't consider either of them all time masters but they can affect a certain level of honesty and engagement consistently so there is something to be said for that. I wouldn't really put one over the other for any particular reason.
Eastwoods just from a different generation, its not fair to compare him, but he's still a talented actor, he was just held back by his time. Grand Torino was the most entertaining and well written drama outside of war films i ever watched.
Pitt has better range, far superior in subtle emoting, but Cruise has a god-tier back catalogue and is only in a small handful of bad films, he's appeared in many of the best films of all time.
Edge of Tomorrow is my number 1 sci-fi film ever now that Star Wars got israeliteed.
Cruise is a larger-than-life presence, he's a shounen protagonist kind of person. Always optimistic, cheery, full of love of life and believes in friendship and hard work. His filmography personifies that. Pitt is just a guy that looks cool sometimes. It's not even CLOSE. The cultural moment he created with TP2 is enough to make him an eternal TRUE American icon. SOVL in human form.
Tom wins both. Jerry Maguire and Born On The Fourth Of July and Rain Man and even that scene in MI3 where Phillip Seymour Hoffman is counting down until he shoots his girlfriend shows that Tom has acting chops and his filmography is pure kino since Taps in 1981.
Pitt its the better one, dud was in 12 monkeys, moneyball, seven, the big short, fury, inglorious bastards, once upon a time in hollywood, etc. Tom Cruise as great as he is only does action movies, Pitt is much more versatile
>Born on the Fourth of July
That sole movie is more emotionally powerful, culturally relevant and artistically beautiful than anything in Pitt's filmography. Pure emotion in every frame.

Ouatih last scene is better than cruises entire filmogerphy. That is why Pitt has an oscar and cruise dont. Also because cruise is short and they'd have to find really short presenters like kevin hart and someone else, maybe shorter. It would just look weird on stage

>Cruise's drama work is phenomenal.
The way he can br typecasted into a run of the mill action flick, yet also has range when necessary, is what makes him come out on top
I think both are good. I know good and bad roles they have had. I don't like Mapother cause of scientology, that shit is so fricking moronic it will make you lose IQ. See John Travolta and Battlefield Earth as a good example of that. If I had to pick I'd pit Pitt but only because he isn't a scientologist. Otherwise I just try to judge them by their performances and both have put a lot of good shit out there.
that is not worse. that is being moronic but at least you are not actively bankrolling a cult that is all about making money. you do realise that in order to advance to a higher level (higher operating thetan) you have to pay thousands of dollars? if you "fail" the test, you can pay and retake it. the guy operating the e-meter basically pulls the results out of his ass. the machine has sensitivity knobs so whatever result they want to have they just rotate the knobs to get it. it has no scientific proof, all the results you get with these machines is 100% subjective. and despite its simplicity and huge margin, they STILL decided to move production to china, cause you know every single $ matters
if Pitt wants to be """spiritual""" he can feel free to. at least adopting a Black person or whatever does less harm than scamming people into a cult
>Who's the better actor?
slightly I prefer cruise but Pitt is at the same level >Who has the better filmography?
This is a joke question right? It's Cruise and there's no comparison
>Who's the better actor?
Pitt, but only barely >Who has the better filmography?
Pitt and it's not even debatable.
Cruise wasted his career doing action/spy slop, especially in the last 25 years.
Cruise (and Ving)looked "too old for this shit" in the latest MI and Cruise's bald spot was blatant and off putting if the few scenes they couldn't cgi remove it. ew
Pitt is more versatile. I haven't seen Cruz in anything but action slop for th last 20 years.
Pitt is always staring in terrible shit though, with the exception of Fight Club.
Cruz makes pure kino.
>Didn't watch Tropic Thunder
Tom is top kino in it. Apparently came up with the character himself aswell.
Pitt can't really act. He's a dependable, pleasant on screen presence like Clooney.
Watch Magnolia.
He plays himself in Magnolia, it was his mad scientologist phase
Still carries the movie
That would be Julianne Moore
Cruise acts laps around Pitt in Interview with the vampire, and it's not his usual action role either.

Scientology is redpilled and based. I will not elaborate on this.
It absolutely is. They basically take a page straight from the israeli clan book, the "religion" part is just a cover for what is a really a supremacist clan. And it's no wonder that israelites push so hard back against them.
Cruise hasn't done anything interesting in decades.
hahaha coping loser
>Cruise is a filmmaker, producer, creator
Ahahaha.
The thread was about better actor with better filmography. Pitt has all that. Cruise excels at just playing same exact thing every single time. Just as another anon said, he's the Rock tier actor.
Kys for comparing the Rock to Tom fricking Cruise.
lmao not even close
>Eyes Wide Shut
>The Last Samurai
>Rain Man
>Valkyrie
>Top Gun
>Born on the Fourth of July
>The Color of Money
>A Few Good Men
>Jerry Maguire
>Magnolia
>Minority Report
>Collateral
>pic related
Hell even Tom's Mission Impossible filmography is better than the entire Pit filmography.
So Yeah, I'm thinking Cruise>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pit
>Vanilla Sky
It's a masterpiece yeah
I think the point we made and the point you made without intending to is that 95% of those good movies Cruise made were 20 years ago. He fell off. Movies he's made since were not bad, but simply not on Brad's level. You cant compare 10 mission impossibles to Pitts filmography in the same timeframe. You'd have to be delusional or just pathologically willing to fight to the end just to prove your likeness for Cruise in spite of clear facts
The latest Mission Impossible is the best one, the series got better with time
Indeed but I still think Woo and Cruise delivered, on an action standpoint, a fricking masterpiece. i don't care about the story or le acting, the action set pieces are absolutely oustanding. Cruise looked the best and tried to make a James Bond movie first and foremost.
MI isn't even comparable to Bond now, Bond hasn't been good since CR. Cruise is trying to out stunt Buster Keaton at this point
True, Bond was ruined when they got rid of Brosnan but still. I think MI has BTFO'd it so hard I wouldn't be surprised if the next Bond is just Ethan hunt but British.
the MI movies are very intelligent.
I won't bicker anymore but I'll rather watch a truly enjoyable and positive and clean movie like Rogue Nation than whatever the frick Pitt has made. watching Cruise be himself is fricking pleasing to the eye, that's god-level charisma. Pitt doesn't have that same status.
brad pitt's last decade of films is garbage
>we
you have to go back
>those good movies Cruise made were 20 years ago
>oblivion
>edge of tomorrow
>jack Reacher
off the top of my head from the 10s
>I must not include the whole filmography to compare two actors because, aahm... because you just don't ok
lel
Oblivion, Edge of Tomorrow and Jack Reacher are fricking terrible
Jack Reacher is not good, but still more entertaining most of Pitt's recent work minus the Tarantino film
worst opinion of the week has dropped
Damn, that was a great movie. The runtime absolutely flew by in the theater. I swear, it felt like 20 minutes at best. Same thing with Edge of Tomorrow. Absolute kino that soothe the soul.
>Jack Reacher is terrible
Cinemaphile is so fricking dead, it's insane.
>>Jack Reacher is terrible
>Ay yo. The girl wants to have sex with you, but you said no, so now we're gonna beat you up.
>Actually no, its a scam, but the girl wasnt really in on it.
>cops chase car, but then fall back about 1 kilometre back, just far enough to give cruise ample time to find a brick to put on the gas pedal and get a hat from some random pedestrian, but not far enough back to where he could've just kept driving because they clearly lost him
20iq movies you're praising here. Your dad thought it was cool, uh wait you're 50 as well
>World war z is high IQ movie
>>Ay yo. The girl wants to have sex with you, but you said no, so now we're gonna beat you up.
YOU FRICKING moron HAVE YOU EVEN WATCHED THE MOVIE YOU CALL TERRIBLE
How can you honestly not be bored with cruise reshooting the same movie whwre he is basically superhero tier of insane reflex time, speed and strength against everyone then try and fail to shit on Pitt's kino. They dont even come close to comparison
What a close minded, peer pressured person you are. Cruise's action movies aren't just senseless action. They all have a beating heart and a soul. The stories all work perfectly in sync with the stunts without one delegitimizing the other. Holy frick, am I actually talking to Twitter users right now?
Jack reacher is mission impossible
Oblivion is rated like 50%. Its ok.
Edge of tomorrow is pretty good. It doesnt come close to mogging fury, world war z or anything else on the top of the list of Brads filmography for the same period and you know that
>fury
lmao
>world war z
double lmao
pit's filmography is non-existant next to cruise's
all forgettable slop, Edge of Tomorrow is a stone cold future classic.
Sorry, you have no comeback that wouldnt make this entire board laugh hysterically at you
This is a Cruise board, nice try anon.
this. don't know what that nutter is talking about.
Pitt is a character actor woth countless great roles as a lead and supporting actor
pitt is a more interesting actor with a better filmography
Tom is more important to the film industry. If he stopped making films it would cause a local economic depression in LA.
i wouldn't consider either of them all time masters but they can affect a certain level of honesty and engagement consistently so there is something to be said for that. I wouldn't really put one over the other for any particular reason.
Is Eastwood bigger than both of them or is that a boomer-only take?
Sneed
Eastwoods just from a different generation, its not fair to compare him, but he's still a talented actor, he was just held back by his time. Grand Torino was the most entertaining and well written drama outside of war films i ever watched.
I like films Pitt has been in more overall, but I really liked Eyes Wide Shut. I rewatch it every now and then.
cant bruise the cruise
OP is a baiting homosexual. Answer is obvious.
Brad is the better actor
Tom has the better filmography and all around much more impressive career
never seen Cruise pull something on the level of 12 Monkeys, Snatch, or even Burn After Reading
Brad.
Brad.
Pitt is laidback, you can tell. I would rather hang with him. And he's aging a bit more gracefully.
Pitt has a wider variety of roles, but Cruise has the best filmography of any working lead actor
Brad Pitt got beat up by his asian stepson and got cucked by Angelina Jolie
Look at him. Just look at him. What a gay.
The face of fake machismo.
Tom doesn't have to feed a bunch of stolen children and put them in check
He's also has been in constant blockbusters
Pitt always comes off like he's trying too hard, he's not a bad actor but Cruise just has a natural charisma
Is the mormon church or JW or whoever paying you guys to post all these positive comments about cruise, or what?
>Mormon
Cruise is a larger-than-life ideal and person. Pitt can win as many Oscars as possible but he won't have the power that Cruise's name carries.
They're about equal in terms of filmography, but Cruise is the better actor. His performance in Vanilla Sky is in my all-time top 3.
Pitt its the better one, dud was in 12 monkeys, moneyball, seven, the big short, fury, inglorious bastards, once upon a time in hollywood, etc. Tom Cruise as great as he is only does action movies, Pitt is much more versatile
Cruise could never do genius shit like 12 Monkeys or Snatch
or Burn After Reading
>genius shit
>Snatch
go away bonger.
>Rain Man
>A Few Good Men
>Born on the Fourth of July
>Born on the Fourth of July
That sole movie is more emotionally powerful, culturally relevant and artistically beautiful than anything in Pitt's filmography. Pure emotion in every frame.
There are like 20 academy nominations in just these three, where is Pitt's response?
>le Oscars
FRICKING PAJEET KYS
>he can't do action
>he can't get critical acclaim
You've got nothing.
Pitt got an actual oscar for acting instead of just a nomination
>Pitt got an actual oscar for acting instead of just a nomination
/thread
pitt has never gotten a lead actor oscar
Pitt has oscar as actor and oscar as producer. Cruise has no oscars.
Pitt got an oscar cause of in tribe preference, Cruise doesn't have that benefit
Meds now
Kek always them and their ~~*psycholgists*~~, I'm not an American I didn't have to worship the tribe
Pitt is a israelite now?
pitt has best supporting for ouatih and producer oscars on 12 years a slave, the departed, and moonlight, are those the films you want to die on a hill for?
Ouatih last scene is better than cruises entire filmogerphy. That is why Pitt has an oscar and cruise dont. Also because cruise is short and they'd have to find really short presenters like kevin hart and someone else, maybe shorter. It would just look weird on stage
Doubly wrong, the best scene in ouatih is qualley in the car and early cruise output has better sequences than the end of ouaith
Well tbh not. The best scene objectively is when he was at movie studio checking on his friend. Tarantino basically edged the viewer for some action and then cucked until the end. It was perfect
Oh, actually no. The best scene was when he beat up bruce lee.
how many acting oscars does cruise have?
Cruise's only real chance was Born on the 4th of July. Best picture that year? Driving Miss Daisy
Me
I can safely say I can't remember a single movie from Brad Pitt the movies and he are so forgettable
fight club?
I remember the movie now that you mention it, but I can't even place Pitt in it. What was his best scene in that movie?
Hes one of the 2 leads man, seems your problem is you have fricking alzheimers
Nah I just for some reason filter him out kek. Maybe because he's a juice
Same person who can differentiate between each installment of MI
Pitt is the best actor
Brad as been in some kinos like fight club and ......uhhh fight club
Tom is the better actor. Pitt probably has the better filmography but Cruise has much higher highs. Cruise's drama work is phenomenal.
>Cruise's drama work is phenomenal.
The way he can br typecasted into a run of the mill action flick, yet also has range when necessary, is what makes him come out on top
what are other actors that are only liked by buttholes
I've never met a Bruce Willis or Samuel Jackson fan that wasn't a complete dickhead
does willis mainly appeal to meatheads
I'm giving a slight towards Cruise, but Assassination of Jesse James is one of my all time favorite movies
Pitt is even worse than that, he's non religious but spiritual. Just pick a fricking side either be an atheist or religious
that is not worse. that is being moronic but at least you are not actively bankrolling a cult that is all about making money. you do realise that in order to advance to a higher level (higher operating thetan) you have to pay thousands of dollars? if you "fail" the test, you can pay and retake it. the guy operating the e-meter basically pulls the results out of his ass. the machine has sensitivity knobs so whatever result they want to have they just rotate the knobs to get it. it has no scientific proof, all the results you get with these machines is 100% subjective. and despite its simplicity and huge margin, they STILL decided to move production to china, cause you know every single $ matters
if Pitt wants to be """spiritual""" he can feel free to. at least adopting a Black person or whatever does less harm than scamming people into a cult
by entertainment value it's cruise, by a long shot
pitt has a lot more stinkers and slop
>Who's the better actor?
slightly I prefer cruise but Pitt is at the same level
>Who has the better filmography?
This is a joke question right? It's Cruise and there's no comparison
I like Pitt but I'd go with Cruise. Pitt was great in Snatch
Cruise's biological daughter is hotter than Brad's so he wins.
>Who's the better actor?
Pitt, but only barely
>Who has the better filmography?
Pitt and it's not even debatable.
Cruise wasted his career doing action/spy slop, especially in the last 25 years.
Cruise (and Ving)looked "too old for this shit" in the latest MI and Cruise's bald spot was blatant and off putting if the few scenes they couldn't cgi remove it. ew
Cruise/Cruise but I like Pitt a lot too
Tom is much better, he doesn't even use a stunt double
you have to be absolutely moronic to believe this meme
it was the script. gay moralgay vampire is not a fun role to play.
Could've just been the script but Cruise ran circles around Pitt in Interview.
For me it's Leo
Cruise's body of work when taken as a whole is far more impressive than Pitt's.
