Since when does Heavy Flo, a Savage Dragon character created several years ago, have ANYTHING to do with "the absolute state of Superhero comics?" If anything, her power's quite based and unconventional. Hell, Heavy Flo could probably fit in with series like Invincible or One Punch Man.

I remember the Savage Dragon cartoon being pretty good back in the day. Like a cop drama mixed with a X-men parody type mutants that didn't take itself too serious. The comics look a lot ranchy-er than the cartoon from what little I've seen. Sadly this is a bait thread and will never have a proper Savage Dragon discussion.

I'm rereading the comic series and its pretty good mindless schlock. You just have to stop around the tome he quits the police and Larsen runs out of ideas what to do with him.

No they aren't. Frieren becomes trash after 3 episodes, even catching up to the manga it's still dogshit. Jujutsu Kaisen has sakuga animation but the writing is garbage and there's no overarching story to be compelled to, it's just fighting nonstop for the sake of it. And the powers are just less interesting versions of other powers from various shonen jump series with the exception of Gojo's infinity abilities. Also characters are never fully fleshed out to have any impact when they die, I guess the only exception would be Gojo if he's permanently gone. Spy x Family has weak bantz and the "spy" parts of the story are nyquil, so fricking bland. It's low tier even by other SoL/romcom standards.

I'm sorry to tell you that you have shit taste, probably from reading a lot of comic superheroes.
The actual problem with superhero comics IMO is the lack of consistent continuity and identity. One Piece has gone on for god knows how long but it's still the same storyline by the same author. You don't get that in superhero comics, heroes get passed around like cheap prostitutes, authors only have a very limited time to leave their mark, and continuity is basically a joke. Why would any newcomers want to dive into such a clusterfrick, when they can pick up a manga that is a single series with a beginning middle and end? And yeah there are some comics that are like that but they are flooded out by all the superheroes.
