This show was so fricking good I was floored. I was fully expecting to hate it when I first started watching because I assumed it would come across like a live action Airbender where it felt like a cheap imitation but surprisingly very well written and acted with just enough humor to balance everything out without cheapening the drama. If season 2 is even half as good, I'll definitely enjoy watching it.

And his characterization, via how inept or not he is at a given moment, seems all over the place. Just not a good character.

From what I can tell, the BoS is useless and rely on a secret ceremony for the black to give him the responsibility of a new rank which puts him on a path to a mission where he has to operate outside the BoS to save the universe with the help of a supportive huwhite roastie.
The BoS isn't useless at all. They show up to Moldavers place and take it over in one attack. Maximus is sent out to be a squire specifically because the troony cut her own foot in half because they didn't want to do it.

At one point he's getting his ass kicked while trying to get into his power armor. He's being held so he can't get in and control it. The power armor, by itself, grabs one of his attackers skull and crushes it. Then go back to just standing there.
He managed to get his arm in the suit, he was manipulating it.

I enjoyed it. Just try watching it and form your own opinion instead of worrying about people who do like it or people who post screenshots crying about it. It takes 30 seconds to download.
It's not perfect, I think it has a few gay lib moments, but not to a degree that made me role my eyes too much. Overall I liked it. Walton Goggins is great in it. The music is top notch. Hell Ella Purnell is good too. The only one that isn't good is the black guy, his character is a bad person but not compelling in anyway. And his characterization, via how inept or not he is at a given moment, seems all over the place. Just not a good character.
