In shows with mystery, it's not enough to say that there's a mystery; the mystery should be developed, and the plot should "thicken".
As an example, a friend recommended Severance to me. I had nothing to do that day, so I binged it.
I was absolutely uninterested in the mystery for something like 7 episodes straight, and only kept watching because my friend kept insisting.
The whole mystery was "this company is shady", and that's it. It was only later when the plot thickened that it had something enticing.
With the Digital Circus, it's just "you're stuck here and you don't know why". Nothing elaborated beyond that.

You should be demanding quality 3D and proper use, not that everything be 2D - even though I, again, also love 2D far more. It's just not everyone's style or best method for animation.
