I prefer Murder Drones to Amazing Digital Circus because I like the visuals, style and story in MD better (it's just a preliminary judgement, ADC is still only a pilot afterall). I can still appreciate that ADC has very good animation, music, and I like quite a few of the characters. It's not my personal taste but I'll still check it out and watch just to see what it's like - even if I find the extremely bright no-shadows 90s endutainment game look to be a bit of an eyesore and annoying to look at (despite it being intentional).

People said the dialogue of murder drones pilot was a bit bad, while the rest are better, did liam write the rest or did he have help? Get that helper if so.
Liam writes the whole thing, he just switched focus to the story and eldritch horror mystery / elements by episode 2 instead of continuing to try with the somewhat cringey meta-humor and dialogue of the pilot. People massively blow out of proportion how bad the pilot is though, it's still pretty good in all other aspects - though not nearly as good as the rest of the episodes after. Cinemaphile just likes to massively overexaggerate because they let themselves get easily annoyed by things like that and don't give the whole show a fair shake. A lot of the complaining about MD is usually just about the pilot.

Not really, I just wanted Jax to really come across as a mean butthole and not shy away from the more cruel aspects of the concept. Being utterly unable to communicate even through writing or body language is a real hell on top of the eternity of the circus, and I'm just sort of playing with the character at this point. I didn't intend for her to be this tragic (I just made her a pencil because I'm an artist and she's low key a self insert).

The fact she doesn’t have a mouth and has to communicate through such an arduous and difficult way, despite Zooble and Kinger also not having mouths and being able to talk just fine, adds a unique edge to this character I really like. She’s gonna have such a rough time at the circus, hopefully she doesn’t abstract too quickly. Im sure Caine is having a lot of fun making up new activities to keep her involved though 🙂

Once the initial shock is over. Well some part of me will always try to find a way out either because I never give up hope or more likely out of sheer spite. Now not going insanity will be the hard part so a routine and talk/interacting with other will be vital. I need to keep myself self busy, go out of my way to meeting/interact with the other, making some improvement no matter how small, and never give up no matter how bad it seem.
Despite the fact I know deep down it only going to get worse and there is no escape.
Honestly, I'd probably fall very, very hard into understanding the world as much as I could and then once I realize that there's no underlying logic, go insane. Even if it doesn't help me escape, I'd still be launching rockets into the void to see what happens. Do they still suffer from wind resistance? Is gravity still a thing or does everything just fall 'down?' Can Kaine do anything or can I trick him into fricking off for a day? The sun and moon are alive right, do they remember the previous inhabitants?
I feel like I'd strip that world down to its 1's and 0's. At the very least, I'd keep a diary to catalogue my descent. The final log can just be 'frick it all, let's see how much awareness I still have as an abstraction.'
My life is already a rather monotonous treadmill, I honestly think the Circus would be a breathe of fresh air and a way to get me out of my comfort zone for a while. I'd probably ramp up the avid daydreaming if things get boring.

I'm not too familiar with how 3D animation rendering works. How exactly does the stuff on the left eventually become the stuff on the right?
Basically you assign everything a material, glass/metal/plastic/etc. and place lights around the scene. The computer is able to calculate how light interacts with all these materials and can give you a visual simulation of what that looks like. Depending on how powerful the computer is and how much light/material you're telling it to simulate per frame rendering the full scene can take upwards of days.
Light sources, reflections, and shading can be pretty computationally intensive. They're interactions that affect all objects in a scene, so you try to keep them as simple as possible when you're just testing movement to save time.

All I knew of it was that it was a new long length 3DCG cartoon created by Gooseworx which got me very excited. On watching it, I was very happy with it. For me, premises like this walk a fine line where they can either get too edgy and gratuitous, or veer the other way and get so flippant that no character element is ever taken seriously, But I feel like the pilot does a good job balancing the quirky dark humor alongside the genuine existential dread. So it allows some decent laughs but still lets me feel genuinely sorry for the more charming characters.
Though as much as I enjoyed it and the resulting hype surrounding it, it is good ground expectations for stories this early in development. I think it'd be hard for anyone to predict just where things will actually go from here, and I'm going to try to enjoy the ride without overthinking what it could be too early on.
I agree, something like this could easily turn to shit. But I think that one person being in control of everything and solely responsible for writing and designs and directing is a good safeguard though. There's a strong vision that won't be easily fricked with by someone who doesn't get it.

I've said from the start that the series will end with the Circus becoming more hospitable (and some resolution to the Abstraction issue, perhaps that's where Pomni=Jesus comes in) but with the characters still trapped forever, and probably even more aware of how much escape is impossible

Could use some rework. My main critique is what an animator could do to make this fun? It’s just a spring and a head. It bounces and the head wobbles. I feel like Kinger is the Zoidberg of the group. Generally well meaning but so weird/unstable that no one trusts him with anything.
Ragatha tries to be everyone's friend, and isn't hated by anyone, but most will seem burnt out on her positive outlook on everything. I imagine her as Pomni's main support once they get over their awkward introductions. If Ragatha can help Pomni see things aren't as purely horrible as she first thinks, maybe Pomni will help her see that it's okay to not bottle up every negative emotion until you burst.
I could kind of see Zooble hanging out with Gangle? Zooble seems completely done with everything, but Gangle is the only one who gives two shits when they're first taken by gloinks. And I could see them just wanting to get away from the noise of Caine's adventures.
No one really likes Jax, and Jax doesn't like anyone.
Can't tell if Gangle and Pomni would commiserate over shared anxieties or if they'd just bum each other out more.

That it has just over half the all time views the MD pilot has in less then a week is crazy to me.
Bare in mind most MD viewers also probably watched the ADC pilot. It's been getting teased for like 8 months now, why are you surprised? The MD Pilot came out back when Glitch was relatively small, it's been 2 years since then.
Good on them though, having two shows like this and only continuing to grow without halting any momentum is a good sign. I'm excited for the next two MD episodes, then they can start working on releasing episodes of ADC.
