MD is Murder Drones, another show produced by Glitch created by the showrunner Liam Vickers. Glitch is creating both Amazing Digital Circus and Murder Drones.

I'd actually say it avoids the pitfalls of that by not trying to oversell it as super scary. It knows it's goofy and doesn't pretend otherwise. It's never full-on horror.

Kinger apparently knows more than the others about virtual worlds and he's the oldest, and Caine is probably the C in C&A.

His enthusiasm is because he doesn't know anything else, and the "exit" he created was actually his birthplace. It's unfinished and inescapable because he genuinely has no clue what lies outside of it.

Both are lanky, have an oval head, and are purple rabbits. They are similar in looks but not in personality, she'd probably find Jax to be annoying and punch him.

I think that applies to a lot of the shit in the pilot, (abstraction, void, the outside world, Pomni’s mindbreak, etc), they showed their hand too early.

Using shading for the interior-facing sides of ribbons adds depth and volume to the figure while allowing for more ribbons to be added without overcrowding or causing them to blur together.
Gangle's limbs aren't connected to the rest of her and shouldn't be curled, so her "hips" should be drawn as an extension of the torso ribbon.
Varying the diameters of loops looks sufficient for making her shapely, but someone ought to investigate increasing the number of bands in the chest area as well.

I don't know about "trying too hard". The comedy fits more in ADC's case, the serious drama and cosmic horror fits more in Murder Drones' case. What's overly or excessively edgy about MD? It's somewhat dark, sure - but what else would you expect from a lovecraftian story about an evil biomechanical / digital eldritch entity trying to destroy the universe while the hopeless characters try to stop it?
I like both honestly, for vastly different reasons. They both scratch different itches for me. Murder Drones is eldritch horror kino, with cute loveable characters. Amazing Digital Circus is fun, wacky, existential dread kino - with cute loveable characters. I find both really easy to enjoy. I don't get how anons can have sticks so firmly shoved up their asses to try and pit them up against eachother, or making preferring one over the other some sort of competition where they have to call the other show SHIT GAY SLOP THAT SUCKS. Both are great.
Also FRICK I can't get the Murder Drones or Amazing Digital Circus themes out of my head. They're both stuck in there like a parasite burrowing into my brain.

All these characters are just humans put in the situation, Gangle only having her sadness mask shouldn't relegate her to being solely depressed, everyone else acts like humans with a wide range of emotions

As far as "I Have No Mouth"-type settings go the Digital Circus seems alright. I could see myself spending a number of decades there before going insane. The adventures look like fun and there's a theme park and a swimming pool.

The biggest thing holding it back are the characters, they don't feel like characters who have been trapped in a digital hellscape for possibly years. They feel like different flavors of wacky roomates.
The rabbit is probably the worst one. I don't know if a writer is trying to make a nihilistic jokester or a sassy self-insert, but there is no way anyone would put up with his shit for more than a week without greeting him with a brick in the mouth every morning.
In contrast Raggedy Anne was too comforting and motherly compared to everyone else.
Then the rest of the cast can be summed up with "is that all you do?"

They are slave labour robots expected to do dangerous work while being easily disposable and replacable. They die so frequently they just generally have a more muted reaction to other drones dying around them, why would humans want their drones to frequently freak out whenever they constantly see other drones dying? Don't try to compare them to how a human would act, because they're not human. They only tend to really care about death when its a drone they actually know or are close to, which seems pretty unique to those specific drones on the planet in the show considering they are free to create their own society after the humans died out. Plus, you're not supposed to care for random side character deaths. Why the frick are you bothered or not when they are played for laughs? The entire point is that deaths for these drones is common, but there are higher stakes in the show than just simply dying.

I know someone in a previous thread pointed out Gangle was in Judas' place for the last supper reference, but it could be Kinger. Albeit he has to have a moment of lucidity longer than ten seconds to really think that far ahead at this point.
It's not Pomni's last supper though, it's Gangle's, meaning Kinger is in the position of Judas.

Using shading for the interior-facing sides of ribbons adds depth and volume to the figure while allowing for more ribbons to be added without overcrowding or causing them to blur together.
Gangle's limbs aren't connected to the rest of her and shouldn't be curled, so her "hips" should be drawn as an extension of the torso ribbon.
Varying the diameters of loops looks sufficient for making her shapely, but someone ought to investigate increasing the number of bands in the chest area as well.

I like both honestly, for vastly different reasons. They both scratch different itches for me. Murder Drones is eldritch horror kino, with cute loveable characters. Amazing Digital Circus is fun, wacky, existential dread kino - with cute loveable characters. I find both really easy to enjoy. I don't get how anons can have sticks so firmly shoved up their asses to try and pit them up against eachother, or making preferring one over the other some sort of competition where they have to call the other show SHIT GAY SLOP THAT SUCKS. Both are great.
Also FRICK I can't get the Murder Drones or Amazing Digital Circus themes out of my head. They're both stuck in there like a parasite burrowing into my brain.

It is interesting that Gangle's personality seems influenced by the mask she has.
All these characters are just humans put in the situation, Gangle only having her sadness mask shouldn't relegate her to being solely depressed, everyone else acts like humans with a wide range of emotions

As far as "I Have No Mouth"-type settings go the Digital Circus seems alright. I could see myself spending a number of decades there before going insane. The adventures look like fun and there's a theme park and a swimming pool.

The biggest thing holding it back are the characters, they don't feel like characters who have been trapped in a digital hellscape for possibly years. They feel like different flavors of wacky roomates.
The rabbit is probably the worst one. I don't know if a writer is trying to make a nihilistic jokester or a sassy self-insert, but there is no way anyone would put up with his shit for more than a week without greeting him with a brick in the mouth every morning.
In contrast Raggedy Anne was too comforting and motherly compared to everyone else.
Then the rest of the cast can be summed up with "is that all you do?"

They are slave labour robots expected to do dangerous work while being easily disposable and replacable. They die so frequently they just generally have a more muted reaction to other drones dying around them, why would humans want their drones to frequently freak out whenever they constantly see other drones dying? Don't try to compare them to how a human would act, because they're not human. They only tend to really care about death when its a drone they actually know or are close to, which seems pretty unique to those specific drones on the planet in the show considering they are free to create their own society after the humans died out. Plus, you're not supposed to care for random side character deaths. Why the frick are you bothered or not when they are played for laughs? The entire point is that deaths for these drones is common, but there are higher stakes in the show than just simply dying.

I went with the penguin salt shaker idea. He's a ceramic salt shaker, barley able to move around, having to waddle around. He can't move his arms either as they're apart of his body.
His head is removable where you can pour the salt, but sometimes when you remove it, the salt forms a tangible spirit of who he once was.
