So... This episode feels a bit personal. The end at least because... Well my grandma passed away like 2 days ago and will have a funeral on thursday and... I can tell the experience will be rather similar to what the crew felt in this episode. Especially since she had a brain tumor that slowly ate away her mind, in a way kind of like abstraction. It is good to see that Pomni has now faith that she herself may also be mourned if hat ever happens to her as I am also afraid of that after both my grandma and grandpa died after losing big part of their mind. This feeling that you matter to someone and will be important to them even when you can't recognize them and you will not be alone at the end.
But if there is one other thing I got out of this episode besides sadness for Gumny and empathy for Pomni is that Jax will NOT be mourned. He is a terrible, terrible person that I hope gets what he deserves.

Being male or female is not a feeling, it's an experience and how people view you. You're a woman whether you want to be or not. People will always see you as a woman. Has it ever been stated how long Jax has been trapped in the circus? I feel like I would eventually get Flowey syndrome (i.e., spiral into nihilistic insanity after living with zero consequences for years and years) if I was trapped for too long.

Why Gangle as the latest one? I've done evil playthroughs, but releluctantly. Even though, based on the premises I hold, it's simply impossible for an NPC to be sentient, I would feel bad by being mean with it.
There's a massive difference though. For one, when we play games it's by looking at a screen and using a keyboard and selecting a button prompt. For Jax, he is actually right in front of them, like an actual being that he can say anything to and interact with more than we ever could. It becomes psychopathy at that point

He also tends to leave a bunch of primitive garbage (blocks, teapots, etc) everywhere, probably due to his unhinged and likely insane nature. Likely means there's a lot of junk just floating about in the void and outside intended spaces.
Somehow I didn't register that the truck model was there for the same reason that the NPC models were.
I mean logically the truck wouldn't work, the NPCs were lifeless so it follows the truck wouldn't be functional either so it was still a bit of a stretch
Depends on how the game is set up. There are a few that have active npcs that just have a "no state", but if the "no state" is pushed into an active state through some sort of exploit they do become active parts of the game.

An increased tendency to create parasocial relationships has fricked up the way people consume fictional stories. It's not simply investement anymore, but being emotionally harmed by whatever is represented in a fictional medium as if it were real. I mean, being abused by someone like Jax would definitely harm almost anyone, but, now, merely seeing him doimg that stuff in a fictional setting harms the spectators as well (although not on the same level).

The Sun and Moon are part of the Skybox, Bubble spawns and gets popped all the time all around him and the mannequins are super generic, probably on purpose to avoid this situation.

Pomni just needed to see real human emotions instead of numbed masks of positivity or lunacy, she needed hope that these people were real and felt things too. She wonders how they’ve accepted this life of insanity and why they’re encouraging her to as well.
Gummi despite being NPC was the first being to act “real” to her. So the funeral, seeing them feel real emotions appropriate to their situation, is what saved her. No longer seeming like inhuman characters that would easily go on if she was tossed in the abstraction pit, they saved her from falling by showing her they feel real things.

It did what it needed to in terms of giving Pomni a reason to give any kind of a shit about the other characters - and hopefully she'll start trying to be nicer to Ragatha. I honestly wasn't convinced that the awkward glance they shared at the end of episode 1 was about Pomni abandoning Ragatha for the exit. I wasn't sure she could even tell that's what happened.
My prediction is that Pomni's next issue to deal with (aside from trying to make up with the others) is a fear of Caine himself. Like, the end of episode 2 served to make it clear how much power he has over who lives and who dies. He seems to WANT the humans to survive, but he doesn't seem to have the capacity to really, like, care too much about how they actually feel.
After the chat/time with Gummigoo and experiencing the funerals she's definitely not gonna be truly apathetic/suicidal anymore, which is good because it would've been boring watching her just not care about anything forever.

Yeah, just going based on what was shown in the episode, Ragatha should not have known about it since there was never any mention about Pomni going into the exit door instead of looking for Caine, at least not while Ragatha was around. In general, that whole subplot about Pomni betraying her was handled really poorly.

If Pomni and co really are SOMA copies of the real humans who put on the visor, then they "technically" aren't really sentient either. They'd just be AI emulating a human mind (not too farr off from Gummigoo). They already don't need to sleep and eat, and have a reduced sensibility to pain.

There's no reason to assume that AIs can't be genuinely sentient in the TADC universe, even if they can't be in ours (which is itself an unconfirmed assumption)
In that case, Gummigoo really could be just as sentient as Pomni and friends, and Caine essentially murdered him by erasing him. Though by the same logic, Caine could just bring him back whenever he wants because he's a god in the game. Pomni and co seem to be just AI inserted into the game from outside instead of being created by Caine (if this theory is correct)

I rewatched ep 1 and I think I like it more, ep 2 was kind of boring and drawn out at times and the drama didn’t grab me too hard. While I found ep 1 entertaining throughout, with an intriguing atmosphere, more charming character moments and things to look into. Still enjoyed it and I’m officially into this series now that there’s progression
