That's because it was boring as frick and the usual Bad Batch formula episode.

No. A few good character moments that took like a few minutes total. The rest was just another monster of the week shit with boring and dull action sequences, while the other characters need to download data from the console. The usual fricking trite.

      >You’re angry because she escaped with my help, not yours
      Kino episode

Literally the only good moment across the entire fricking 26 minutes runtime.

My "favorite" part was that the cliffhanger from last week was skipped over (we start on the next day, not immediately where we left off) and that Tech's death was talked over off-screen. Crosshair knew all along, Omega told him sometime in the past off-screen. The only thing we got in regards to Tech was one throw-away line and Crosshair's sad facial expression. That's it.

Tech had a great sacrifice, it would suck balls if they undid that and he was perfectly alive, albeit with a few wounds. Unless they did some sort of Hemlock SW Reanimator™ technology and Dr. Hemlock "brings back" Tech as a stumbling corpse and everyone gets to see that abomination. Where he is plainly dead and the doctor just desecrated a brother for scientific advancement.

This, or all that survived of Tech was his brain while his body was completely gimped to the point he's just a brain in a jar running calculations for Hemlock. I think it would be pretty kino if they rescue Tech and put him in a robot body and instead of him missing his old body he's just goes full "From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me".
Only reason I think they shouldn't do that is because it basically just a repeat of Echo's situation, but crazier.

See, I’m fine with the show slowing down and taking some time to further develop the characters and their feelings. Like, Crosshair is fricking back with the team for example. But they won’t even take much time doing that.

    Episode was okay

a lot was skipped over but there was still some good character moments, episodes story was a bit generic with monster of the week, but it at least tied into the best episode of the show (the outpost)
we should've at least got a scene of Crosshair talking to Hunter immediately after the last episode, and him being told about Tech's death

one thing to note is the lighting, you can see Crosshair at the end in a 50/50 with the light and with the shadow, where he turns towards the light side

6-7/10, 6/10 isnt bad just a bit mediocre

Christ I guess I’ll summarize and hope I’m not just sent to the shadow realm
I really liked Crosshair still being torn up about Mayday and showing respect to him and the other clones by arranging their helmets in a box
Also how Omega was playing a reasonable reconciliator rather than just whining at Hunter and Crosshair to make up
Slush-Hulud wasn’t the most interesting plot point but I enjoyed it well enough. Especially seeing Crosshair and Betcher working in synch so quickly

You know, there is an Aayla Secura acting tsundere about you touching her lekku thread in the catalog. And that got me to rewatch those Aayla episodes from TCW S1, The Jedi Crash and Defenders of Peace. And I was reminded, yet again, of just how much meat was in those episodes thematically, how many great character interactions there were, how good were the overall plot and action sequences. Even if it doesn't look as good, but those episodes were better than most of the fricking bad batch episodes. The overall plotting in TCW was so much better. Every episode or arc had a unique and interesting plot, and each episode had something to say. There was never a "formula". Each arc was something different. How many times have we gotten a fricking monster of the week on The Bad Batch? Too many to count. And that's not even the end of it. There's another episode coming where Wrecker will fight an alligator in the episode with Fennec Shand...

Glad someone said it. Dave is fricking lazy and has been doing this since Rebels. This show has the exact same pattern as Rebels. TCW even had some sort of message in each episode while The Bad Batch it was just Hunter and Omega having the same argument over whether Omega should tag along on missions or not. Ironically, this episode touched on how Crosshair warned Hunter about Omega yet she will get captured again soon or at least because they aren't being careful the Empire will take it out on Pabu's citizens.

This is the last season and there's a bunch of big deal plot shit going on. They don't have time for this pointless filler.

I already knew that they won't wrap everything up since the trailer. They'll leave most of the plot points unfinished and hope to wrap it up in a decade time.

Because TBB is a show about a small team (basically a family), just like Rebels, not an anthology show about the entire Republic like TCW, where you could have 1 episode where Padme and Chuchi do something political on Coruscant, 1 episode where Mace Windu slashes 9000 Separatist droids in half within a minute, 1 episode where Obi-Wan hangs out with Satine while their son is sent somewhere far away, 1 episode where Ahsoka shows off her lack of underwear when 501st fights some bugs on planet Shittonea, etc.

          >Because TBB is a show about a small team (basically a family)
Then focus on just that. TBB is nothing but cameos and references every single week. Rebels was the same when they said that the show would focus on only the group but then they forced TCW into it by the second season.

I don't see the logic. The show being about a family isn't a problem, the problem is boring fricking plots and most of the episodes being about nothing. Stop writing the plots that all involve giant monsters that are immune to blaster fire! The good episodes of the show didn't have those! Like the Ryloth episodes, Coruscant episodes, S2 finale, Crosshair episodes, etc. The writers seem to be fricking aware of it, judging by that line. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad and annoying.

            >the problem is boring fricking plots and most of the episodes being about nothing.
The messed up part is, this is the last season, we don't have time for monster of the week bs, we've got a mad scientist making crazy shit and are using clones as test subjects, we've got Saw and his Partisans starting warfare with the newly born Empire and we've got the makings of a clone rebellion with Rex as the leader. There is so much going on within the time period right now, the show needs to focus on that and, again, this is the final season. Why tf are we doing monster of the week/filler episodes?

What happened to TBB threads? During S1 there were several threads about it at once, there were a lot of memes and OC in them, during S2 there was at least 1 thread on this board, and now it's like no one cares, I hardly could find this one in a catalog, what happened? This season is good so far, maybe only the 2nd episode (with Hunter and Wrecker with those teen clones) felt kinda filler-esque, why did you Cinemaphilemrades stop caring about this show?

Because it became boring really fast and wasn't what was advertised. People thought it was gonna be some kino commando show in the Imperial era as advertised originally:

Notice something about this trailer? No fricking kid.
Then people actually watched it. And it was the usual babysitting daycare Disney stuff. Many were thrown off by the fricking kid. Then Cid came along and the episodes became really boring and formulaic for the most part, and most people just fell off.

Season 2 was much worse in that regard, with a few standout Crosshair episodes, Coruscant episodes and the finale, and the rest being the usual boring stuff.

By Season 3 I guess there's not enough people left to care.

I really feel like this episode is emblematic of all the problems with the series. It has so many good character moments for Crosshair and Hunter but they are so afraid of being "boring" that they have to invent some bad side mission and throw a big monster in the middle of it in order to have that conversation. Not to mention that they drag Wrecker and Echo into it despite not having anything going on for three seasons.

This should have been Crosshair, Hunter and Omega just talking on the island while the B plot is some Tantiss drama or whatever except another brainless monster.

Reatrds, after Order 66 Palpatine wanted to turn the Jedi Temple into a new Sith Temple (which would be similar to the old one buried under the Jedi Temple), but never got around to it because Project Necromancer was much more important to him.

Palpatine didn't need to build a Sith temple because there was literally already one left untouched in the depths of Coruscant though he did convert the Jedi Temple into the Imperial Palace.

The filler bullshit when the interesting parts are only touched upon and then momentum is lost. That and the show is trying to make " Somehow, Palpatine returned." make sense and while I like Hemlock and his mad scientist ways, he's rarely shown and I quite frankly don't care about the Sequel Trilogy and SW writers trying of fix the mess that is the ST. Valiant effort, but still, I care not for the fricked up future that the ST brings to the table. Hemlock should just be making imperial abominations and experiment on the clones due to them being Empire property and nobody missing them, and the fallout amongst the bad batch and other clones in seeing their brothers be hurt like that.

      Anonymous

Pretty much. Hunter is a reluctant dad, whose entire character is "MUH OMEGA".
Wrecker is a big dumb guy with the heart of gold. He never really evolved beyond his initial archetype.
Echo is just there. The writers did absolutely fricking nothing with him. So they wrote him out of the show in the middle of S2, and now he pops up every now and then as a guest character.
Crosshair is the only one with an arc, depth and dimensions. Tech was somewhat developed, but not as much. I'd say he was just a bit more fleshed out beyond his basic "autistic nerd" archetype, which helped making his death feel impactful.
The most baffling thing is that Crosshair had only TWO episodes in S2. Two out of sixteen. Fricking insane. And he underwent such a development, compared to the rest of the characters. I wish we'd seen more of Imperial Crosshair, instead of fricking Wanda Sykes and other crap for Cid.

What if Crosshair is the only survivor and raises Omega in honor of his lost brothers.

Nothing connected to Disney is capable of creating such kino.

It was a good breather episode. The breath before the plunge, as well as getting some character bonding out of the way and setting up the storming of Tantiss.

.....crosshair had tech's voice in the episode just after hunter fell down the hole.
    that was weird.

I think it's because they have the same voice actor!

possible, i guess he forgot to switch the type of voice he was doing.

Or because Crosshair doesn't usually shout, so when he does it sounds closer to Tech, whose voice is higher pitched by default.

One weird thing about the credits:
Why are there so many executive producers for the Bad Batch? It takes quite a while for it to reach the director and writer. (Filoni isn't among the latter, by the way.)

And Kathleen Kennedy isn't among the former. Which is why animated Star Wars remains agenda-free.

I don't know about that, Wanda Sykes annoys the frick out of me whenever she appears.

Phee is just regular annoying side character material
She doesn’t force the show to revolve around her and is subject to lame morals as everyone else in the episode she features most prominently

I did have the thought that this show is like if you had a DnD party where everyone dumped their points into a single stat
      STR - Wrecker
      DEX - Crosshair
      CON - Echo
      INT - Tech
      WiS - Hunter
      CHA - Omega

Shouldn't Echo and Hunter switch? Hunter seems more like a CON kind of guy imho

Perception is tied to Wisdom in DnD and Hunter's main thing is being able to find stuff good.

Also Echo survived torture and mutilation, suggesting HP

If Phee gets to call Tech "Brown Eyes" shouldn't Tech be allowed to call her "Brown Skin"?

      >Hey, you can't go around saying stuff like that Tech!
      >I don't understand. I made the assumption that you referred to me as "Brown Eyes" because you have a fondness for the hue of my eyes so I thought it appropriate to provide you with an similar epithet that alluded to my fondness for the over-abundance of melanin in your skin pigmentation
Then Phee's panties get absolutely soaked from Tech's autism rizz.
