The whole thing just felt like every character being stupid in purpose to breed pointless drama for drama's sake. It had no direction until it suddenly wrapped up in a shitty faux-tournament arc that satisfied nobody and answered none of the mysteries set up, a few fun interactions don't redeem a total disappointment in every other way.
like I said it was doing great up until the gang war. legoshi should have apprehended melon then and there when he turned white. since up to that point most stuff were just character interactions and finding a way to beat melon.
and I'm saying those problems were steadily building since pretty much the moment Melon and Yafya were introduced, the final stretch is just the worst of it.
yahya is fine, angry old gay man seething is hilarious, and he develops as a character who soon to care for legoshi and rebuilds his relationship with gosha

Literally from the chapter Melon was introduced, something felt wrong. I couldn't place my finger on it, but the direction and quality of the story began to take a turn that would eventually become a full-on veer off a cliff. Everything before that chapter was great.
I've never seen a series go so bad and so clearly have no idea what it was doing that it introduced fricking ||Stands|| for a chapter before promptly forgetting about them.
Nah, it's clear that the later part of the arc was dogshit but you're letting it color the rest of the manga. Since after Melon we still got really good chapters.
I think Paru got a bit too hung up on Murder Mystery managing to resolve its big fight at the end with thematic resonance and was trying to figure out how to do the same again, but never figured it out so it just ends because she's tired of keeping it going.
the editor thing is true though, because there are moments where it feels like a perfect way to end but somehow dragged up to the black market tournament
Apparently she always thought 20 was a great number of volumes to end a story on but her editors were forcing her to extend the story because they thought it would negatively impact the anime to end the manga before season 2 even came out.

The recent KFP is a failure. It's not going to have a great box office. Most definitively will be the weakest box office performance among all the theatrical movies. And it's not better than the third movie, the Chameleon is the worst villain of all the movies due to her motivation. The only people who pretend this awful movie is good are shit head furries jerking off to Zhen.
And the thing really hurting KFP is the same thing that's hurting Toy Story. Audiences have gotten older and are mentally checked out they don't care for more sequels.
