Unironically James is a nice breath of fresh air in a story like this. He could just be the generic "rich guy who looks down at everyone" instead he's actually a pretty decent dude whose interests just don't click with Vicky's.
The best thing James could do now is to take his sisters side when her inevitable relationship with Vicky becomes public, and uses his education to have spotted a loophole to put his dad over the barrel if he tries to kick her out on the streets.
It's so strange, this is trying to frame James as someone who doesn't really care about what Vicki wants, but the same can be said for Meg as well.
Feels like Meg wants to stick it to her family more than anything.
Also it's fun to think about Meg seething in secret at James for dating Vicky even if it's not shown.
Yeah, that's the thing. It feels like Vicki's attraction towards Meg begins and ends at the idea of rebellion, and vice-versa. It's just as shallow as any of her boy crushes.

I just hope the divorce and their time apart doesn’t affect the story if they ever return to finish it, considering a lot of the drama was related to romance and relationships

If you're desperate (like me) you can always look for content outside the books, like interviews and videos and extra art and all that.
BD's always seem to take ages between volumes,
manga is like every week a new chapter, comics come out monthly, but BDs- they seem to come out annually WHEN you're lucky
they're more comparable to literary series
doesn't help that the BDs are often either small teams (I think Bellybuttons has two people working on it) or one-person projects
manga might also be only one person, but at least they often come out weekly, plus most mangaka seem to have teams working under them, also when you look at a mangakas schedule it is back-breaking work going into it
meanwhile most (American) comics have a whole team, with colorists, writers, people for inking, people who do the sketches, and so on
So there’s nothing wrong with the production, and we’re probably gonna get more eventually, because this is just how long it usually takes? Well that’s reassuring.

The Karine / Dark Karine convos have been hinting at that endgame conflict for two volumes. Who else but the childhood fren to notice she's betraying herself.
Real question is how the frick vicky recovers from her mother ditching her.
Guru arc. Trying to help everyone else reach their happy endings, at the cost of it distracting her from her time with Hugo. Basically how Karine's relationships always crumbled because she would prioritise her bad friends, only Hugo is presented as a more positive male love interest and so instead of b***hing about it, accepts that it's something Jenny needs to do and lets her have the space. Karine goes to New York to look for Dan leaving the bands future in doubt, Vicky finally tries to talk to Megan who with the band drama isn't ready right now. Both of these actions leave the parents furious, leaving Jenny feeling terrible as she thinks she has just made everything worse for everyone, and goes running off leaving a note from Hugo saying she just makes everyone miserable including him for ignoring him, where she gets picked up hitchhiking by a passing John John.
10 is everyone good getting their happy endings, and the buttholes getting put in their place.

when Rock starts his villain arc and Revy gets scared because of how he has changed
Karine is headed for full on rock bottom I think, I could see her machinations catching up with her and she genuinely has to confront what she's become. I can see it maybe ending (lol) with her losing her fame and popularity but retaining her confidence and self-acceptance.
Vicky is headed for a fall as well, could probably culminate in her standing up to/cutting out her mother and freeing herself from toxic influences. Maybe she doesn't get Megane but becomes happy with who she is (a big girl for you).
Dunno where Jenny goes at this point. Maybe her relationship with Hugo doesn't work out which challenges her idea of a fairytale ending, but ultimately she realises that's just the way relationships go sometimes.

100%. The only redeeming factors he has is that he often does get great pain inflicted upon him and his relevance in the comic totally dropped off.
