i had never seen lost but saw like Star Trek and that movie pissed me off. Watched this off a recommendation and was pleasantly surprised by it. I didn't really find it frustrating with loose ends or anything, just ended up being a well orchestrated drama
This might be the most pretentious show I've ever seen. The fricking dramatic intros with the upbeat song that didn't match the mood got annoying real fast. Anyone who considers this a top show has been conditioned to praise mediocrity. Also 2% isn't even that big of a deal.
Season one had a dramatic intro with huge dramatic music. Season two just had instagram pics with people departed with a country song but did you ever listen to the lyrics? I didn't really find it upbeat but more of along the themes of the show.
Season 3 and changing the intro every episode was a huge mistake and most of them were for comedic effect.
I started watching this because Cinemaphile drooled over it and immediately in the first episode there was big worship and blacked scenes so I dropped it.
what are you even referring to? holy shit you must sperg out about every piece of media if it was just because a black person was in the show. the mayor?
I just watched it for the first time.
In some ways, it’s impeccable. Fantastic dialogue and rapport between the characters, heart wrenching scenes, all that shit.
It’s also mind bogglingly frustrating. You have these characters doing the dumbest shit imaginable over and over, with no justification other than >IM IN PAAAAAIN
I also can’t believe they never delved further into apocalypse stuff. They started off so well. All these little hints that shit is about to go down, the dogs going wild and the one guy killing them, the magic Black and his blasian babies, the cult. And then it’s just like a wet fart. Nothing happens.
And you can’t even say Kevin was just an unreliable, mentally ill narrator. Clearly magic was going on, the whole plot depends on it. It feels like the writers just said “eh, nevermind” in season 3.
Even the departure itself was nonsensically pointless.
So yeah, in some ways it’s the best show I’ve seen in a long time. It’s also the biggest disappointment.
I never got apocalypse vibes until the third season, honestly. Obviously there was a magic element involved since the moment people disappeared, so the shit with the dogs and the cult leader was ambiguous about whether it was all a metaphor for Kevin’s sanity and how people cope if something like that happened. Nobody knows if Holy Wayne was legit but I like to think he was.
After rewatch I think I disliked season 3 way more besides Matt’s episode. Felt like way too much wasted time, even though they were only working with 8 episodes.
>trying to get back into Miracle
probably my favorite episode out of the entire series and instantly made Matt my favorite character. I honestly was kind of disappointed how his character ended though
it really took a rewatch to realize that season 3 was weaker than the other two because i was really enjoying it the first time through
>CC’s breasts >Jill and her best friend playing loose party games >Liv Tyler playing a psycho cult leader and raping some guy >cute negress and her two friends running naked through the woods
what was the point of the girls running naked through the woods? i don't remember any morons from the cult doing that. if anything if anyone saw them they'd be suspected to being weirdos doing it with complete blank faces in silence
they were pretty nice too, ngl. just felt like they threw that in that they were a little weird because the riding in the car in silence with blank faces wasn't enough
watched it with my boomer dad who got absolutely irate at the end there being zero answers to anything despite the opening literally saying "LET THE MYSTERY BE....."
>Kevin survives trying to drown himself because an earthquake/fissure drains the lake >Kevin gets poisoned and buried for several days before coming back to life >Kevin gets shot and comes back to life again
Alright, so there’s no way to discount these supernatural happenings. Clearly Kevin is around for a reason. But season 3 seemingly shits on this, with no floods or grand destiny in sight.
Unless “setting off the bombs” in his little fantasy afterlife was actually significant. Like people were getting stuck in a kind of Limbo and Kevin actually destroyed it?
it's talked about a reasonable amount. however i did try to make one the other day and it died immediately.
i'm on a second rewatch now and i've decided
season 2 > season 1 > season 3
Nora is CUTE. god damn was her hair and character horrible in season 3 though
probably the best series ever
>damon lindeloff
don't even have to watch it to know it's absolute dogshit.

there are threads about this shit daily, and it is absolute shit

Season 3 was definitely the worst.
Matt was such a great character, though. Love the episode where he’s trying to get back into Miracle.

For me, it's Carrie Coon's breasts
i knew Cinemaphile loved her but i seriously had no idea she did nude scenes let alone multiple in this show

The point was breasts, anon.

we talk about a lot. its shit. as it is written by damon lindel
watched it with my boomer dad who got absolutely irate at the end there being zero answers to anything despite the opening literally saying "LET THE MYSTERY BE....."
kino
all the episodes with the priest were pure kino, episode 3 especially got me hooked
was that the casino episode? i think that finally got me hooked too, even though i really disliked Matt before the end of that episode
yep, rewatched it several times over the years its great just as a standalone episode too

let the mystery be bro
A chick warmly recommended this to me once so I never watched it
the threads when it was airing were kino
