I could care less.
Dumb Americans like you are a diamond dozen, huh?
Jokes on you. I was pretending to be moronic from the gecko
>a diamond dozen
>from the gecko
Same
Flash is fast, Flash is cool
You only like him because of Red Hood, admit it
Honest to god didn't know he voiced Red Hood until now, and now I know why that's my favorite DCAU movie.
Why is he so objectively perfect and amazing?
I am surprised he hasn't been put into a live action version of the movie yet. Dude fits it well.
Revenge porn is a shit genre for shit people
>revenge porn
Huh?
Do the A-train scene
why? it's not like he 'wins' either
>the best polished turd
The Boys, Invincible and Netflix Daredevil are the only good capeshit adaptations so of course The Boys wins every year it releases a season.
Legion and Doom Patrol are good
So you only like boring edgy crap that tricks idiots into thinking it's "mature"? Weird you didn't name Jessica Jones, sounds exactly like something you would like.
Somewhat
Season 3 is fun but some of the politics is a little bit on the nose. It makes fun of "both sides" but clearly treats one side with kiddy gloves. The references to memes like the "Pepsi protest" or "Celebrities singing imagine" is some low hanging fruit that goes on longer than needed
I liked Voughtland and NRA/Gunpowder but yeah the imagine song and pepsi commercial were definitely a little much and dated.
You could feel the writers feeling so proud of old jokes and the "clever" orange man allegories in 2022.
All lives matter guy was pretty funny.
what would you suggest they do anon
>a little bit on the nose
lol
lmao
>first John Walker/US Agent
>now Soldier Boy
What is this archetype called? Where they make an butthole character with bad opinions designed to be disliked or untrusted but they end up stealing the show anyways.
TV Tropes says "Ensemble Dark Horse" or "Draco in Leather Pants" and I've unfortunately haven't been able to find a similar term that sounds less stupid.
I dont understand why I like him so much either. The boys has no shortage of super buttholes to choose from, so why does soldier boy shine? My guess is that the actor does a great job with the character.
It's because Jensen Ackles is relentlessly handsome.
>sympathetic backstory and motivations
>all his wrongdoings were committed offscreen and in the past
>acts straightforward and honestly, and not like a sociopathic manipulator
>puts the fear in Homelander
I think Soldier Boy is designed to be liked right now in the story. There's a line earlier in the season about how all supes care about is their image. I think Soldier Boy abides by this to an extreme level. He probably has same level of psychotic hubris as Homelander, just smarter and knows how to hide it.
There will be something that happens later in the season where he goes mask off and all the Soldier Boy fanboys turn on him. I think it has to do with why he was actually locked up. Payback says they turned on him because he's an butthole, but he doesn't seem like one at least no more than the rest of Payback. Soldier Boy is hiding something.
Soldier boy seems like he was the Homelander of his era(but had more of his shit together) and just like the homelander of his era, the entire team was scared of him and hated him for being an butthole, even by their standards. The show doesnt try to hide that Soldier Boy is just another dirty cape that has a good image but the main difference between him and HL is that he isn't obsessed with approval ratings and being liked, he doesnt even seem bothered with everyone thinking he died while on his revenge rampage
You're right. I just feel like I'm about to kicked in the nuts here. Solder Boy seems a little too perfect, even his boomer mentality is completely excusable considering his age and being locked up for decades. It comes off as charming. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop here, and I'm thinking Soldier Boy is going to do something horrible or something humiliating will happen to him.
When they first broke him out the lab, I was expecting him to act like a feral caveman for the entire season. So far, I also think he acts a bit top well collected but i guess the writers are trying to balance that with his uncontrollable explosions and showing that he has zero remorse for anyone that gets caught in them(which isnt anything new for Vought superheroes). My guess is that he'll just get killed of by the end of the season because homelander plot armor is too strong and they dont want soldier boy's power cancelling beam around for more than a season.
Yeah, I couldn't put my finger on it why is prefer soldier but that sums it up. He feels like he actually had a childhood compared to HL who was born in a tube and raised as a lab rat. Seeing them met was a neat dynamic with how SB wasnt impressed at all and pretty much called HL a pussy
Jensen Ackles said there was a scene involving Soldier Boy that he didn't want to do because he was a "family man" so I presume it'll be revealed that he raped someone at some point.
I think he might be referring to the scene in the comics where he's Homelanders frick boy.
I still think Soldier boy more likeable, Because despite being an ass hole he's still a person.
Homelander was raised in a lab. No matter what happens to him, he would've never been normal. He's a bad product Vought is stuck with that's why they gave homelander son (seriously I need to learn his name) the mom so he has an actual childhood unlike Homelander manufactured lie.
American Ranger dude on the right is another Captain but actually racist another one you can put on the list.
Also you should watch Supermansion if you like the boys.
Based pic?
Im genuinely surprised that they didnt go the low hanging fruit of making the "realistic" captain america joke of a dude with sensibilities from the 40s being put in moderns society and not being a phobic/ist. He instead just scoffs at a gay couple, talks about how the US and the middle east were like best friends back in day, and was cool with Cosby(and even knew about his rape wienertails).
>designed to be disliked or untrusted
pretty sure soldier boy is supposed to be an uber powerful supe who's less egotistical than homelander. he doesn't have a god complex or needs to be loved, he's just pissed for being sold out
The showrunner confirmed that Soldier Boy does have Homelander's ambition and ego, it just comes off in a different way because he's from another time.
the song slaps
Cape sisters......
I fricking warned you.
Five star post
If you are all powerful being drug down by you cape doesn't concern you.
That's a pretty good example of why the fight seemed so lame. The cape should have just ripped. Homelander should be able to have his face smashed through that wall without really feeling it. He slowly bounced off of it and it made them all seem weak. Homelander and Soldier Boy are supposed to be so much stronger than other supes it didn't make sense that Billy shooting-up temp-V would be strong enough to even hurt Homelander.
The whole fight was shit.
>Doom Patrol are good
Doom Patrol was shit. Literally the only good thing about it was Flex Mentallo.
What is the cape made of? That should have ripped it in half.
homelander regularly goes mach speeds
his clothes need to be able to withstand that
My one gripe with this show is how Deep is handled. It's like they don't know what to do with him and just bring him out to do Aquaman jokes. He gets kicked off the 7, fricks around for a whole season, and now he's back but with a psycho wife.
His actor probably gave the Starlight treatment to a few execs, so they do what they can to keep him around.
I feel like he's the most disposable of the 7. He easily couldve died along with the invisible dude in season 1 and nothing would've been lost narratively. Right now he only exist as an "aquaman fricks fish" reference and his only personality is kissing homelander's ass. A-train is also a homelander asskisser but he also has other sides to him like his struggle to stay on the team, his history with Huey, his involvement doing shit in season 2 etc
He mouthrape starlight. He is not ganna get any good ending no matter how sorry he is
>He mouthrape starlight
A Train killed a someone
How is that less bad?
I think writers are moronic, at least the way the padded out the story with political commentary with lower quality than garth ennis himself
but I feel like even they know that a-train doesn't deserve redemption
his scene with now-ceo told it loud and clear
He's a joke character that somehow isn't dead yet. I think he's going to end up being the face of the Seven in Season 4, or even the ending of this season. Maybe even CEO. Continue his character arc of being an embarrassing ass-kissing frickup, but now he's a puppet CEO with a controlling puppeteer wife. Or get his reputation ruined by the octopus fricking picture.
>Another live action show for people who dont read comics
Its all the same bullshit
The show is better than the comics.
nah
maybe on average it is better
but the boys had an amazing payoff with real slow-burners
they showcased parallels too often with homelander for that to be the case
his ego, him not caring what heinous shit going on behind him, the fricking liberty line
too careless, he doesn't seem to care that he kills bystanders
some story beats collides
>homelander is crazy frick, but not gaslighted
>butcher wants to kill every supe (and kinda open about that in some scenes in s3)
but everything else is different imo
I watched and liked Doom Patrol
daredevil season 1 is in my top of capeshit
how good is legion?
Very good especially if you’re an X-gay and still really cool and visually interesting and not completely alienating if you’re not. Really great performances from everyone involved.
I loved Legion, the best Marvel show imo. Super trippy and weird
Its good, but it shouldn't really take the name the Boy and call it something else.
Just be thankful it didn't go the Peacemaker route
>force us to like an unlikable black b***h that kept gaslighting and shitting on Peacemaker
>the entire season is just meh
>any good that Peacemaker does get ignored and the team (except for the leader) shit on him
>their psycho friend call every white people racist
>many of the problems stem from the team being moronic
>White Dragon did nothing wrong and got into the mess because the team thought its a good idea to FRAME HIM, DESPITE BEING PEACEMAKER'S FATHER
>they justified it because he racist
>racism being portrayed as le bad makes me le angry
>i sure do hate le black people
>this is bad because Cinemaphile told me so
This shit happens more often than not in that series. Keep in mind during this time, there is suppose to be an world ending invasion.
it's a comedy series and carries practically exactly the same tone as the movie it's a spinoff of. a show saying racism is bad and making fun of racist people is funny, that is if you aren't a bitter racist who is the one being made fun of
the boys subreddit going into meltdown because of the blue hawk thing is so fricking funny. media literacy must really be down the toilet if people think the boys is "le epically based and redpilled"
>White Dragon did nothing wrong
Except, you know, him being an unapologetic KKK cell leader who made his small children bare knuckle fight for money that directly lead to one kid dying, then blamed the other son for that death for all his life, while also doing shit like forcing Peacemaker as a child to murder people, etc.
White Dragon isn't wrong that Peacemaker kill his own brother and Peacemaker will never be in peace until he accept that part. White Dragon was seen living in his home, probably rotting away. This tells me that he basically done with being a villain and decided to just live out the rest of his life as an elderly. It also implies that he probably serve his time before this point of the story.
The only reason he decided to be the White Dragon was that he got framed, the team that frame him justified that he was racist, need to use his status to make his stay in prison less shitty, the system outright deny his right and call him racist when he keep telling them to take his prints, and the psycho tries to kill him in prison while shittalking him and his crew. And on top of that, he was betrayed by his son by this. All of this push him to go back to villainy one last time. In the instance of the present, White Dragon did nothing wrong and was minding his own business until his son came back to his life.
>unironically typing all this to defend a deplorable person like the White Dragon
Deplorable good. Biden bad, state’s rights good.
Life is complicated.
There’s nothing complicated about a father endangering his own kids lives to make a buck and then force all the blame on the kid who just did what his authoritarian father told him, including when he was made to murder people when he was just a child.
He was strengthening them and making money on the side from his view. Peacemaker being responsible is entirely him coping/denying the fact it was all his fault or him thinking he should've been capable of knowing what his punches could do or held back. Murder is also strengthening in his eyes.
He is entirely in the wrong, but he was harmless before fat frick beard guy ruined everything.
I hope to God people like you never breed.
I accept your personal attack as a concession.
Peacemaker was better
Hear mw out. Since the show just does its own thing most of the time with the characters and teams and what not, how about pic rel for the G-Men in season 4?
The G-Men are already getting their own spinoff series.
These actors suited for role in G-Man. Can’t wait.
If they were gonna get Danny Devito for anything in The Boys it would have been for The Legend.
Would unironically love a single episode/special that's just them as their own cast of truly awful supes who all die horribly by the end of the story.
The twist is that they actually get their shit together and do hero stuff to solve the problem of the day, go out in unglamorous ways but still get remembered as unironic heroes by everyone else.
Is he going to make it past the third season? I get the feeling that he's going to get killed by Black Noir.
He either turns on Butcher and Hughie after he kills his old teammates and joins up with Vought. Or dies horribly to either Homelander or Noir. Probably noir. Since we see helping himself to what is presumably a plate of soldier boys brains mixed with beans in the trailer.
Apologize.
no
i love that your brother is going to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair
No, but he did have a good arc
The black community says he's still a b***h homie but road hauling blue bird or whatever was legit
To be honest? Soldier Boy doesn't seem like that bad of a guy. Sure he's a product of his time, careless, yeah. But evil? I dunno. Compared to Homelander he's a saint.
If it's radically off the comic books I'll watch it when it is finished.
This is one of the most attractive men I have ever seen in my life.
don't be gay, anon
like, he's not even slightly feminine
at least frick a femboy
I think the reason why the show and the comic felt so different is because one is made by a creator who hate superheros comic while the other is made by creator who love superhero.
>shill thread for this fricking garbage again
It was so good when this unwatchable trash wasn't on and I didn't have to see threads shilling it.
