The brother being one of the bad guys was moronic and just seemed tacked on at the end for some shock value or something that didn't even really pay off. It felt like the director picked his nose and was wiggling the booger back and forth and moving his finger toward the viewer like you're his little sister and he's trying to think of something messed up to bother you with. "Oh, yeah, btw, what if it was his BROTHER in the end, ooh, isn't that nasty? Yeah, what a bad guy that brother turned out to be, bet you thought he was good."

didn't like it either, bookgays did this happen? if so was it handled better?
First time they mentioned langley I knew that he was the last one
stupid and predictable
Yep, completely stupid. If it ended with the secretary it would have been 1000x better.
>CIA spook AND a dirty hippie
It would have been a complete surprise if he wasn't one of the bad guys.
wasn't his actual brother you moron
worth a pirate/10
Oh I still like the show, just thought the end was dumb. I *was* confused what their relationship was, pretty sure he was the brother-in-law?
Regardless, I agree with this guy
it was cliche and dumb, but otherwise loved the series from the start until those last 5 or so minutes.
He tells James "I'm CIA" in the motel room. Should have known right then and there that Ben glowed.
they went through BUDS together and generally anyone in the seal community is considered a part of the brotherhood. LLTB. When Ben was thinking about ringing the bell in hell week should have also been another clue that he would be a glowBlack person traitor.
If I recall, it was mentioned that Ben was part of Reece's seal team, therefore part of the same brotherhood. He also calls the pilot lady "sister" when they're obviously not related. I know it can be confusing but I think it fits the character to refer to those close to them in such a familial manner.
>I *was* confused what their relationship was
that's because you're a friendless moron
As soon as I saw Kitsch I thought this would be the outcome. He seems to get cast in these back stabbing roles a lot. But they made him so likeable and ride or die during the show that I actually thought they resisted the cliche but alas
it's based on a book, morons. they're just following the source material, written of course by a mouth-breathing former SEAL.
Well I guess that explains it. Amazing that a knuckle-dragging soldier could make 7.92 fantastic episodes worth of content, it's unfortunate he didn't know anybody literate enough to tell him that "twist" was gay and moronic.
The author seems like a decently smart dude if you listen to his podcast but if the book is the same as the show in terms of story beats its definitely very derivative
>its definitely very derivative
It's an action movie, how many fricking innovations can anybody possibly make in that field? You don't read pulp fiction to be SHOCKED when the hero shoots the bad guy.
It's also a political thriller so what I said is apt in that context. But the genre really has been done to death to be fair.
It's weird how Amazon can make a regular non pozzed show like this and then do what they're doing with LOTR. There were plenty of non-white characters in this show but it just felt organic.
Military recruiting is through the fricking floor right now, especially in rural conservative areas which used to be the main source of soldiers.
They absolutely could not risk fricking this one up by sticking in too much leftist garbage, the whole point is to get rural Drumpftards to idolize the military again after the trannies, CRT, vax and Mark Milley Jan 6th fiascos.
I listen to a lot of podcasts cause the Iraq/Afghan wars are very interesting to me from a historical perspective and this show definitely felt like it was targeting that demographic. The way they just say HRT or Ground branch assuming you know what they mean for example.
>you're blue, I'm green
>roll tide
that's a university of alabama football chant, has nothing to do with seals
i did appreciate how accurate this show was, like the part where the entire team gets fricking smoked and need ranger QRF. very realistic.
>like the part where the entire team gets fricking smoked and need ranger QRF
many such cases
Is it really realistic? Are "operators" really such cringe homosexuals?
Yes and seals are the gayest of them all
I only know a few I have treated at VA’s, the ones I have encountered were my best patients. Hyper aware though. You would be outside their room preparing meds at 2 am and they would be sitting upright in the bed waiting before you even walked in
SEALs are
can't speak for other special forces lads, i only encountered seals when i was in
t. former navy
Roll Tide was adorable. I want to treat her nicely and see if a long lasting relationship develops.
The nonwhite characters just exist and perform their roles as supporting cast. The writers make no attempt to have the nonwhites upstage the protagonist in any way. In that sense it feels like a 90s or early 2000s product.
Buranek was a fine deuteragonist imo, and the FBI mutts were good, too.
Yeah, it's very niche in that way, too, I hadn't thought of that. It's obviously meant for consumption primarily by vets, people who know a lot of vets, people with a fort in their town, etc.
so thats why it was so garbage
The source material is an airport novel. What were you expecting?
From listening to probably hundreds of podcasts and interviews with US SOF at this point, they don't really say "brother" that much.
But they say it all the time on Jocko Willink's podcast
I've listened to every episode of that podcast and they don't say it anywhere nearly as frequently as Ben does. Jocko barely ever says it himself.
shut up fanboy
I just like military history and for obvious reasons most of the content interviewing guys that were actually there is from the GWOT
Nothing is wrong with it, I just pointed it out for no reason in particular
What's wrong with saying brother? It's common even among normal, non-operating folk. It was even popular in high school fifteen years ago
I didn't mind the ending. Sure this whole thing is a chud punisher-wannabe fantasy, but I was expecting something mediocre like "The Tomorrow War" and this was way better.
They should've toned down that cliff fall though, he should have been incapacitated after that.
no way he didn't break his whole pelvis and spine area from that drop. that was probably the worst episode, they had a great chance for some realist SERE shit and all we got was meh
yeah the cliff fall was over the top, surprised that let that pass
He moved mountains for Chris Pratt, ungrateful traitors like CP's character is a disgrace to Operators
How was he a traitor?
you do know they aren't actually brothers right? you moron
A ground branch guy has a skillset where he could illicitly make those same millions without signing the death warrant of his teammates. Weird writing choice for sure
>A ground branch guy has a skillset where he could illicitly make those same millions without signing the death warrant of his teammates
How?
Intelligence brokering, kidnapping HVTs, robberies . Any sort of crime that can generate a ton of cash, a guy like Ben would have a way higher probability of getting away with cause of his skillset. These guys make 300k+ as a starting salary when they start working private, I imagine cartels would pay a lot more for an asset like that for example as well. We know for sure former SOF has and does work for cartels.
he wanted his brothers to die with their boots on, not in some hospital bed with brain tumors
Yeah I heard that line and it sounded like cope bullshit to me that he didnt believe himself
Sure but think of the characterization he got over the course of the season. Seems more likely to me that he'd have chosen another scumbag thing to do that wouldnt put his bros at risk. Just my interpretation though.
Agree with
That was so phoney, who was he trying to convince?
Himself
>Intelligence brokering, kidnapping HVTs, robberies .
Sounds more dangerous than just fricking over his brothers.
The cartels hired a meme. He got caught. They should’ve just done it themselves, and I’m sure they do now.
child trafficking
The ground branch guy brought a fricking shotgun to an offensive mission.

Cmon man.
There were a ton of hints but I guess they were too subtle for a moron like you.
Was their any clues or hints to Ben's betrayal apart from him being a glowie?
Also was he still guiding Chris Pratt and talking to his fed friends or did he genuinely go rogue after Pratt's family were killed.
I know he hesitates on the DA lady op but idk if there are details.
Him almost quitting in hellweek was a clue
Take a shot everytime:
• an acronym is mentioned.
• a bird hits a window.
• Pratt says "downrange".
• Constance Wu says "story".
So your problem is the cia guy really was a glowBlack person, and not that the tiny boat had 10' headroom?
