Reading it again, sivana and mister mind collaborating to try and trick Billy into thinking he’s in some dream world where his mom loves him, while they use Shazam as their muscle. So the rest of the Shazam family need to team up to try and stop him and talk him back to reality sounds cool. Wouldn’t bother with the time travel

I liked Shazam 2 but the post credits scene poking fun at the fact that we (and Sivana) waited for Mr. Mind for nothing almost makes me hate the movie

If they were smart they'd cancel the whole multiverse and have made a cheap but well written Cavill superman series in the pattern of the cheap (but no) well written Pattinson Batman or Shazam 1. Capeshit like cowboy movies before them only works cheap and engaging.
You don't even have to do that much. Look at the Animated stuff; they just do Superman, Batman, and Justice League stuff. The rest get a project if they are financially cover by the main release.
All you need to do is New Frontier. Period. Give the slightest background for the few main characters audiences don't know. Leave the secondary heroes mysterious for later movies.
Almost all the core Leaguers have had television and/or movies in the past. They don't need this elaborate origin buildup in their first movie.
They need to be:
1. Better Cast
2. Better Written
3. Treated with Respect
4. Given great villains to oppose
The other remaining alternatives are:
1. Let the DC Universe lie fallow for 10-20 years and recover, maybe do some Vertigo stuff.
2. Make Max nuCWverse, and just keep making separate Batman/Gotham theatrical movies.
New Frontier is a period piece, the post WW2 and Cold War era and Golden to Silver Age transition are integral to it. If rumors are true that Gunn is using the dinosaur and Center shit it will just be generic action.
And Superman the Movie managed to keep the important elements of the hoary period Superman origin story and spruce them up for the 70's audience.
Snyder tried to reinvent it and angst it up but lost the soul of it.
If they aren't timelessly iconic like the legends of old, they JUST FRICKING STOP and leave them be. They can keep snarky, mocking Billy Batson and "YOU'RE NOT MY DAD!" Bruce Wayne.

Blue Beetle looks extremely generic in a market already oversaturated with superhero flicks.
