The defining episode of the decline of SpongeBob SquarePants

Season 4 was a stinker from the start, but Good Neighbors was the episode where the show stopped being SpongeBob and became SpongeLGBT as well as autistic mental patient tier.

THE SECURITY SYSTEM TAKES CONTROL OF SQUIDWARD'S HOUSE AND BEGINS ATTACKING THE CITY!!

When the writers were developing the story for The Paper in Season 1, the episode was supposed to end with a paper monster, but that was scrapped because they thought it was crap. Seems like the writers said "frick it" for Squid's house.

This episode and most of season 4 was fun even if they were not as well written as the prior seasons. There are people that unironically believe the meme, but Squidward's house attacking the city was a bit funny and his punishment at the end is literally nothing compared to a season 1 episode like Jellyfishing.

Good thing I'm not baiting. What makes the security system worse than this? https://youtu.be/n6Xwi1ghX9I?si=mXEeiX_ByD5pboRm Also Season 4 can't be bad because it gave us this masterpiece. https://youtu.be/Ju8Nz2cmCp0?si=5lBWfqOScQ92YEzz

I don't even think season 4 and I'd wager to say 5 is that bad (6 and onward blows apart from the rare gem like the sandcastle and wrestling episodes), just the way you said it sounded like a baitpost

I don't know what it was that made it sound like a baitpost, but I'm sorry it came off that way.

Fear the Krabby Patty was the one really. the animation and designs were strange and the humor was weak.

Fear of a Krabby Patty felt like a gold age episode, it just had a really weird animation style because CH Greenblatt was the one who designed it.

      >Season 4 was a stinker from the start
Most of the good episodes are at the start, though? It declines hard as it progresses, from what I remember.
      >Fear of a Krabby Patty
      >Krabs vs. Plankton
      >Gary Come Home
      >Skill Crane
      >Selling Out

The start of Season 4 was just left over scripts from the third season that never materialized. After those ran out, the show's tone started to shift. To me, when they started drawing Spongebob like this, that's when I knew it became shit, and unfortunately you can thank a gold age season artist for that, Aaron Springer.

Really? No wonder I like those first few episodes. Like, the Lost Matress is a classic in my mind.

Maybe the fact that it's so dividing shows that it's a mixed bag.
