all the belters should have been spaced after what they did to earth
Earth had it coming
Slam dunk a belter baby into the concrete.
no bullying belters
>Amazon sees beloved show getting cancelled
>picks it up so they can turn it into absolute dogshit, ensuring that people won't be as sad about its cancellation
t-thanks amazon
Is Amazon our collective b***h wife?
pretty much the only reason it got bought was because bezos is a fan of the book series, he was apparently seething that syfy outbid him when the production company was shopping around for a network
>hehe yeah I'm a FAN of the Expanse 😉
>hehe yeah I'm a FAN of the Boys 😉
>hehe yeah I'm a FAN of Lord of the Rings 😉
You're not fooling anyone Bezos
i wipe my ass with 100s b***h
>hehe yeah I’m a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender 😉
he’s not the only one guilty
>seething at getting outbid
then bid more Bezos, thats how it works idiot
in fairness, the books they were adapting werent great
babylons ashes was particularly bad
They have pretty good reviews
I don't understand the hate for the later seasons. I'm watching season 5 right now and while they are much slower than Seasons 1 - 3 (which amazingly kept ramping up the stakes every single episode and had crazy momentum), I still enjoyed season 4 overall. Season 5 is slower paced too, but I like learning more about Amos and Alex. Holden feels a little bit wasted this season and Naomi is acting kind of stupid, but all the stuff with Christian, the Earth politics, Mars degrading and Belter terrorism is pretty top notch.
the richest man's favourite show
so he picked it up, gave it third of the budget making the fricking Syfy production quality look like high end blockbuster in comparison, and demanded it to be turned into vile shit post haste
yep this was a vanity project
the producers have stated their budget did not change from syfy to amazon, I have no idea why people keep saying this, if anything the vfx and sets look better in the later seasons (the vfx for the hybrids in season 2 did NOT look good), I feel like people have been meme'd into hating the Amazon seasons and just make up reasons why its bad
the show clearly gets written around smaller budget
they removed all cool space stuff and put the focus on brownoid goblino family drama, stopped jumping around the system, and whatever sets and props they make are pure garbage
they put 1 or 2 short battle sequences in last seasons for whatever they israeliteed from the other episodes
That's not true at all. Seasons 1 - 3 were all shot on sound stages while Season 4 and 5 (havent seen 6 yet) are all shot on actual locations / cities which are always more expensive than re-using sound stages when doing scifi show. The mars sets are also bigger than most of the sets in the previous seasons and there are some sets (like the check in point on Luna when Amos first gets there or the place the terrorist blow up on Mars when Bobbi tries to stop the job) that are just used for a single shot or scene and not re-used.
I agree the Mars family drama is a bit weak, but you cant blame the budget for that when they are just following the books. Also the new sets look way better than the previous ones, Ceres station looked fricking awful most of the time.
Also one of the guys who wrote the novels (and wrote the show season 2 and onward) flat out said the budgets increased, if even by a little.

>After Ty Franck revealed that the budget per episode for season four wasn't significantly higher than for season 3 and the difference essentially covers the extra costs of a delivery in UHD HDR some people from the crew like the director of photography Jeremy Benning commented online to fans that this is also true for season five. Ten episodes, essentially the same budget than for s4, 9 days of filming per episode, and essentially the same postproduction schedule.
You have no idea what you're talking about and are just making assumptions because you got meme'd into hating the later seasons by the hivemind.
go to bed bezos you raped a beautiful show into the ground
>get btfo with actual citations
>double down with a moronic meme
Cinemaphile never fails to disappoint
are you implying I read that aggregate of marketing bullshit
>facts that disagree with my made up narrative are marketing bullshit
you're pathetic
I think you'll like season 6. The Laconia stuff is pretty weird. Wish it had gotten a full season
thanks anon, the one thing missing from season 5 so far is crazy alien shit
wait until the season 5 finale
the crazy alien stuff mostly peaks in season 4 and the rest is just marco inaros stuff. in the books the alien stuff comes back into the story after the marco inaros story is done, but the show isnt doing the laconia stuff.
who do I believe
season 6 does cover a novella that takes place on laconia, but its kind of irrelevant and pointless because the characters in it dont matter until 30 years in the future
I mean, I can't tell/show you without spoiling kek, but there is some in 5/6 that's important
The first amazon season wasn't bad but when they started cancelling actors and decided to wrap it up cause of shitty excuses it got really bad.
And they made it worse than fricking syfi. Amazon is incompetent at everything besides delivering cheap shit to grandma. Frick them.
In fairness the showrunner also turned into a huge homosexual because 9/11 hurt his feelings. And then there's
cringe.
at 10 gravities of acceleration (easily achievable with their technology, they did 11 on the show) a ship could reach lightspeed in 35 days. An object that size moving that fast would easily destroy the earth and be impossible to detect or defend against because of the speed.
The belters should have won easily.
doesn't the Belt depend on Earth for complex biologicals to survive?
Yeah they were kinda fricked either way. Needed to put earth in it's place but also not destroy it's life
Barring the existence of the protomeme, what do you think they should have done?
Just blow earth up and make their own biologicals. Mars was making their own somehow.
in Nemesis Games its mentioned Mars was also dependent on Earth for biologicals
Wasn't Prax and his coworker working on plants that could survive the harsh conditions better and would allow the belt to sustain itself?
Yeah but that seems like a longshot to bank the survival of the species on by killing Earth
they depend on earth for their food. ganymede cant support the entire belt
they can't keep that acceleration for prolonged time
it would be unmanned, obviously. its a suicide drone.
I mean fuel wise, maybe the engine cooling or whatever
they could maybe set it up for a long build up
>welcome to the churn
>Naturally, I was also curious to learn what Cara Gee saw as the biggest difference between the Drummer we see on the show and the Drummer we'll meet in the game.
>"This Drummer is younger," Gee told me. "She begins a little bit more open and vulnerable. Hopefully over the course of the story we see the things that shape her, that force her to become the Drummer we meet in the show."
Wow that looks like shit. They have that low res plastic skin texture like it's running the Doom3 engine only with more polygons.
>Always wearing a friendly smile, Gee came off as very low-maintenance, with a surprisingly soft voice that wouldn't be out of place on an ASMR YouTube channel. That is, until I asked her what Belter phrase every Earther should know.
>"Tenye wa chesh gut!" she practically yelled in a thick Belter accent, her mouth stiff, eyes narrowed, Drummer-mode fully engaged. Then she cracked a wide grin and laughed, immediately back to her bubbly, laid-back persona. I didn't know what the words meant, but I recognized them as Drummer's final words to a significant side-character on The Expanse television show.
>"It means 'good hunting,'" she explained, still smiling.
>"We wanted to make sure that there was a romance option in the game. So you don't have to engage with Maya in that way if you don't want to, or you can," Frost said. "Drummer is definitely queer and we wanted to make sure that that was represented in the game as best we could."
>It seems the game's many twisting plot threads made a polyamorous relationship too daunting a task to tackle, at least this early in the series--Frost tells me there's a definite possibility that the game will be getting a second or third season, but that all of it depends on how Season 1 is received. "She's poly in the show, and in [the game] she's only got [the option to be with] one person," Frost clarified.
damn klaes was so good in s3
the way he went out was so stupid
why'd they ditch him?
probably the budget and he was too cool and throwing shade on girlbosses
What was the deal with this actress?
big saggers
what did you mean by this?
search for her nudes in Y the last many
Perhaps like the USA, at one point in history their Congress wielded executive powers too, a parliament is specifically a legislative body.
shouldn't it be the Mars Parliamentary Republic?
Like the USA, perhaps Mars had a congress to collect taxes and conduct a war (executive functions), therefore they aren't technically a parliament unless for some reason the politicians did not want to bask in their past glory
it's weird that unlike the USA they included the word Congressional in their title for no reason
For me, it's the Agatha King?
I love Gundam
>the villain is right
Thomas Jane was so good in this, really elevated the character, no idea why he is so wasted / doesn't try in everything else he's in.
he really became miller
The battle with this and the stealth ships is weird. Like, did they hire a bunch of suicidal people to crew the stealth ships that were fine with dying? They had to know the Donnager would destroy itself, so what's the point of trying to board it and getting all wiped out? It was like the majority of their stealth ships lost in that battle when they had it won
Ships crewed by brainwashed sociopaths misled into thinking they could seize the MCRN data modules in the Donnager and escape
BELTA!
