H*R has always been notorious for self-referencing itself.
But usually they stand on their own. You don't need to know that Homsar originated from a typo in an email to understand the jokes that he's a weirdo.
it's tricky. the Compé era definitely became too self-referential, so they took a break and it came back better.
It's H*R stuff. Despite my earlier comments about SB losing his edge all the new stuff they put out, while a bit self-referential, absolutely still hits.
If you dislike 90's graphic adventure games (I.E. Monkey island-types) you probably won't care for it too much but even if you're neutral on them you'll likely like it.
