>"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" was going to officialize White Wolf as Bucky's new codename, with the ending title card reading "Captain America and the White Wolf," but Marvel thought audiences wouldn't connect with the name and chose to keep calling him Winter Soldier or just Bucky. Nomad was also briefly considered.
Did they make the right choice?

How would the comics have synergized with this?
Poorly
>Let's keep calling him the name he was given as a brainwashed HYDRA slave soldier who killed thousands of people.
>the name he was given as a brainwashed HYDRA
Ah yes. Thank you for reminding me why I hate MCU. It was Russia that gave him his name. Because winter was Russia weapon during the war. What a bunch of pussies they can't even commit to the name properly.
he can't undo what he did, any more than he can grow his original arm back. bucky will never not be the winter soldier. but he can make that his own.
yes the white man carries his original sin with him no matter what!
>Did they make the right choice?
Yes, because "The Winter Soldier" sounds infinitely more appealing than "White Wolf".
The Wolf Soldier
The Winter Wolf
White Winter Wolf
Winter White Soldier Wolf
>that time Cap was a werewolf
>Capwolf vs Cable
yeah, 90s Marvel was really something else. Actually, a story like this wouldn't be out of place in a Silver Age comic (but they wouldn't need 6 issues to tell the story!)
>random Wolverine in the background of the cover doing nothing
Peak 90s
Wolfbane is there, so I'm guessing the cover artist thought Wolverine was Wolferine
The Woof Woof
"Nomad" would have been cool.
More like Gonad
gnodab
Heh, thanks anon.
Nice
They did this because they don't want white people in wakanda.
I call him metal arm guy
He can have as many names as anyone wants.
This was a false choice since there did not need to be one.
>he is called the winter soldier.
>he also works in the other seasons.
Bullshit.
I can't imagine they would want a hero in the MCU with the word White in their superhero name.
What they should have called him was Captain America and HE should have been the one to pick up the shield.
That'd only work if he worked for Wakanda since that was what the comic version of the character did who was pretty much T'Challa's white adopted brother. But if he hooked up Shuri then it would make more sense.
Was "Gray Fox" taken?
White Wolf is T'Chala's adopted borther in the comics. Did you REALLY think they will have a WHITE MAN associated with the god african superpeople in 2024?
By taking away Walker's shield, they not only show disrespect to the entire generation of millennials and zoomers who have spent the last 20 years fighting America's longest war in Afghanistan and Iraq... but they have also emasculated a PTSD-ridden basedboi like Walker. Losing the shield would be having your wiener and balls snipped off. They castrated Walker.
