>Nigflix
No thanks
I shall watch it tonight.
Though I still haven't finished Midnight Club nor started Bly Manor.
You can skip both
Waiting for the 4K rips. I liked Midnight Mass. How is Haunting on Hill House?
Hill House is the most accessible and popular one of Flanagan's series.
It gets awfully soapy at times, but it's good.
I liked it.
It'll have to do for the spooky month. Thanks for sharing.
>How is Haunting on Hill House?
Amazing, Flanagans best work for sure
It'll give you the spooks for sure
haunting on hill house, along with doctor sleep, is the best flanagan kino
Finally watched Doctor Sleep last weekend.. Was blown away how good it was. Anything similar to recommend? Something about "the shine" or astral travel?
Not The Dark Tower
Stephen King miniseries with higher production values.
The Midnight Club sucked so fricking hard, it killed all my excitement for anything new from Flanagan.
Usual Netflix grab-bag of random ethnicities and sexualities thrown into a sack along with a script, then beaten with sticks until a homogeneous mass of propaganda oozes out. I think I'll pass.
Considering the poster is it Usher as in the singer?
So it will have a singing usher
>Rise in the Apartment of LL Cool J
>Crash in the Garage of Boys 2 Men
Lel
Imdb description and keywords don’t mention “incest”.
How is this possible with an adaptation of Poe’s Usher story ?
Just finished ep2. Jfc that was excessive
wasn't the short story like 5 pages?
So the overarching story is fall of the house of usher, but also includes elements from other poe short stories too
good, lot of kino source material there
Seems like each episode is themed after a different poe story
i haven't seen it yet, will watch it tonight but the trailer gave me Sackler family vibes. I've had Dopesick flashbacks and i mean it in a good way
>Succession rip off
Fricking why, I've had enough of that show. And I'm afraid Mike Flanagan has lost it and/or I've gotten older and jaded. Didn't watch Midnight Club, only heard about it in this thread.
>Netflix
>everyone's going to be totally special, homosexual or otherwise degenerate
why would you watch that shit?
CONVINCE ME IT'S NOT GONNA BE SOI SLOP
You'd just get filtered by the multiple interracial lesbian scenes anyways
chuddie needs trigger warning before watching a tv show
>trigger warning
more like Black person warning and yes, I'd love one
Nah thanks, I'll just watch the old movie again, no Black folk in that one.
Okay, we're up to 5 gay couples and counting, possibly 6 but ones a little iffy
Really?
No, I was only halfway through when I posted that.
That's an undercount
Carla Gugino aged like FRICKING wine.vy
I swear she's aging in reverse
I guess having no children helps.
>Netflix
>Flanagan
7/10 at best watch pic related instead
Corman's adaptation is a masterpiece. Solid October viewing.
Whoever the fat frick playing the young Usher father is... there goes my suspension of disbelief already 14 minutes in and ya blew it.
Flannagan's a fricking hack. Gerald's Game was alright, everything else is shit
Correct answer.
>Flannagan's a fricking hack.
To stay in the biz you gotta serve subversive aids-communists and israeli interests.
I don't care about that shit, I'm not some fricking inverse-snowflake autist.
I just want a good adaptation of a classic set of stories.
Not some fricking sub-Stephen King shlock with no visual ambition and a sleep walking cast.
Well the thing is, his job now is to serve their interests, so that is where he places his effort instead of striving to make something good. He gets paid big bucks for it, gets pats on the back from media shills, twitter, etc. So why on Earth would he try when he knows he's already sold out. Would he still be hack-fraud outside of such subservience? Maybe. But yes he is a hack-fraud and sell-out.
Why do zoomers get so excited over Netflix slop? The only good Netflix release was Maniac now everything is literal trash. Frick zoomers I hope they're ready for war soon
Happy Halloween Xbox
Well I'm 6 episodes in on house of usher so far and I can say it's probably the least monology of his shows so far, and more horror than midnight mass , although I would still put it in the dame category as his other shows as a "character drama with horror furnishings " rather than outright horror
God I hate monologues. I almost dropped Birdman because of how masturbatory it was.
Fall of the House of Usher part 2: Rise of the House of Usher part 1
>bald lesbian sheeboon Black person 300+ IQ doctor married to some latina/arab/pajeeta mystery meat nurse
>guy who makes kino made kino
What a shock
Oh god not this guy. Does his waifu have a main role and 15-minute monologue again?
I don't care about diverse casting or politically correct themes, I do care however about the show being 90% drama 10% horror as with almost all Flannigan shit
Is it the same for Usher?
Yes.
No idea why people say his shit is good
>Is it the same for Usher?
Yeah!
YYEAAAAHHHH
>Carla Vagino
I'm in
>what else can we dig up that's popular from pre-copyright era works and then burgerize it?
>Usher starts raping faster than Eminem
I want to frick Kate Siegel so much its unreal.
>prosecutor is gay AND black
>one of the daughters is gay AND black AND in an interracial relationship
>one of the sons is a pajeet AND bisexual AND a gamer
>another son is a trashy bisexual twink
>all this in the first episode
Jesus Christ, the propaganda is so on the nose. Feels like a parody.
>he got filtered by the chudstoppers
Lol. My favorite part is when Mike flannigan, hand up the arse of the main character like a sock puppet, points him right at the camera and says "this show is not for you chuds"
It is somehow impressively gayer than sandman
Just finished the whole show. Not bad. Midnight mass is still my favorite but I liked this one
Inclusivity is used like jumpscares in Midnight Club.
>netflixslop
Frick off. I could already tell from the teaser's dialogue that it's terrible, what with its Whedon-esque snark and all.
can they stop with the fricking dolly. I'm at ep. 3 and i'm already getting a headache from those face zoom ins. Other then that it's just a shot reverse shot with different angles sprinkled in.
But so far, story wise, it's pretty engaging
Loved Midnight Mass, Hill House was good at times (most of what I disliked was it disrespecting the book tbh). Bly Manor kinda sucked but Flanagan was only in charge for a handful of episodes. I see that's the case with Usher as well, so I'm on the fence about watching it
how big the twitter meltdown would have been if they made the prosecutor a straight white dude and the entire Usher family black with the story being the same as it is now
man I've watched all of Flannigan's Netflix shows and I liked them all, even Midnight Club wasn't too bad. But what the frick is going on with this show? Why is every character gay? I have nothing against gay people or some representation, but it's distracting as frick when literally everyone is gay. Like, this has nothing to do with representing the real world anymore, this is flat out destroying any immersion.
>I have nothing against gay people or some representation
You'll learn. Everybody does eventually
Didn't a plague kill all the people in the house of usher? I remember we had to do so much bullshit about color theory in writing because of that story. Frick you Poe, that was stupid, I don't think you meant all that when you made one of the rooms blue.
Superfluous flick, this story was already realized perfectly.
That's not how things work.
The fact that this thread is so slow is not a good sign.
