Those initial three seasons were the greatest roller-coaster one can ever experience, especially if you watched it weekly. The intrigue was unparalleled, arguably the best ever showcased on television.
Sure, it was all mystery boxes that they didn't even have any answers to, but that's precisely what made it so captivating. The writers didn't have all the answers, and that was okay. This lack of definitive answers allowed for endless speculation and theorizing among fans, creating a sense of communal discovery on the emerging broadband internet scene. It was like a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces, and we were left to connect the dots. It was a masterstroke in building suspense and anticipation - who were the Others? What was the Dharma Initiative? What was the significance of the numbers? These mysteries were the lifeblood of the show, driving the narrative forward and keeping audiences hooked.
The simplicity of the premise - survivors on an enigmatic island - is what made it so appealing. Many have attempted to mimic its success, none have managed to recreate the same magic.
Lost was just a perfect storm of storytelling elements, released at the perfect moment in time, that will never be seen again.
i never watched it because everybody was so pissed off at the ending i just figured i'd save myself the anger
It's an amazing show until you realize the writers are just fricking with you.
I forgot to save the image some anon posted, where nobody knows anything and writers are just dragging it forever.
>I don't know anything ask ben
>I don't know anything ask richard
>I don't know anything ask Jacob
>I don't know what it is all about my mother died before telling me...
Terrible writers, a good idea destroyed by those soulless morons.
>I don't know what this machine is for, ask the constructors
>we don't know what we built it for, it was a secret, ask the engineers
>we don't know what we made it for, because you're already dead and it was all a dream
BRAVO
You are right. I have very fond memories of that show and the mid 2000s. At the time it was like nothing Ihad ever seen on TV. And then the truth came out that they were just throwing a bunch of crazy ideas around.
THIS
cool mystery box that goes nowhere and the last season is the worst because it is an attempt to answer facets of the mystery that make no sense and then jack pulls the cork out of the bunghole at the bottom of the universe
it's all very dumb.
The Leftovers is Lindelof's best work, because he worked with an actual author with actual ideas and they managed to spin gold together.
When a guy like Lindelof works with a homosexual like Abrams the result is dogshit and that is what we got.
Did the Leftovers have a decent ending?
it was about as good as it could be. not great but very solid.
It has a good ending that I was actually satisfied by, but the show is DREADFULLY boring. Someone will call me a brainlet or something for not appreciating it, but shit was really fricking boring, and so melodramatic it was draining. Probably didn't help I binged it when I had covid, but I was hate watching it by the end.
Anon it’s a show where the intro to the second and third seasons are directly telling the viewer there will be no resolution to anything.
>jack pulls the cork out of the bunghole at the bottom of the universe
lol
but anon, the journey is the destination 🙂
This. I’d still recommend watching GoT even though the ending sucks. You know the ending of your life is gonna suck right? Still gonna be some great moments along the way tho
the ending is pretty good, only morons that didn't get it hated it
just watch the first 3 seasons
The final season overall was a little disappointing (but still decent), but the finale filtered a lot of brainlets simply because they misunderstood it.
>cope
>jack's dad literally tells him the whole show really happened and they weren't dead the whole time
>people still think they were dead the whole time
>he still thinks they were dead the whole time
anon how the FRICK do you still think this? We’re you diagnosed with learning difficulties at any point in your life?
Were you?
Final season is unironically the third best after the first two
I didn't like that the final season had so much straight-up magic.
big mistake
The ending was misunderstood by morons who started watching the show during the series finale. I'm dead serious about this.
I can't spoil it but it's fricking ridiculous how a lot of morons completely misunderstood the ending despite it literally being explained by one of the characters word for word.
The ending was shit even if you understood it 100%.
Kys. The ending we got on the island was satisfactory and the flash sideways gave c**ts like you a happy ending.
It offered the best of both worlds.
I bet you're not even white.
I don't care if it was happy or not, it was shit writing and unsatisfying. Although the last 1-2 seasons were unbearable anyway, so it's not like the drop in quality was sudden.
closest i got to lost's kino is reading manga or watching anime. But not a single tv show come close
Name some kinos anon
That ending was way more disappointing. It made me stop watching anime/reading manga. I'm done with that media. After the neverending stories like One Piss or Berserk, we have one that it actually ends and what a disgrace that ending was
C'mon, it wasn't that bad.
If anything, everything past season 3 was sub-par.
Well not that trash
I'm glad this board is keeping its memory alive. I want more people to get burned by it. Frick JJ, frick Damon and frick Cuse.
>I want more people to get burned by it
What the hell dude?
I always wondered why nobody formed a raiding unit to rape all these 10/10 b***hes.
Because they are all well-adjusted individuals who had sex dozens of times in their lives, not some incel failures
On the wall of the bunker, a mysteries inscription reads: YWNBAW
I have fond memories of talking about each episode with my Grade 6 class and teacher, as well as calling my grandma to talk about the episodes. I think I stopped watching when Charlie died and tuned in intermittently
Does anyone remember these?
>Sawyer, I'm ready to settle down with you now
Uh, I think she'd rather settle with Sun.
She just needs to grow her hair out and maybe dye it and she would look fine
She's still hot to me dammit
And a fricking hobbit of all things got to
why do women hit the wall so hard anons?
That's not what the wall means, moron. She just aged naturally.
She is 44. If she dropped the dyke look and gained some weight, she would look pretty good
its common, when the woman is so hot in her 20s, she will probably be used wreck in her 40s
Nothing wrong with this, still sexy. Just look at your mates' wives at 44.
>Just look at your mates' wives at 44.
I do. Nothing like this ever happend to them. You must be american or british
I bet they got fat and stopped putting out or shaving their armpits and pussy.
hello american
WTF??????is this real?
oh its for the movie. Still look hot in her instargram
>All this seethe over a hot woman with a buzzcut
Buch of insecure homosexuals in here tonight. You'd be happy if you could kiss that face.
I don't even like kissing 20 year olds much less old ass cryptkeepers
>I don't even like kissing 20 year olds
anon, I have news for you...
I have news for you Jessica, kissing your fishy lips is a CHORE, b***h.
still would so hard it's not even funny
Cumming all over a girl's shaven head is a special experience. Guess I'm lucky. But more closely buzzed than in the photo
>she looks like this
>the actor for Sawyer has aged with grace
how you age is your choice
she still looks great too
>Grace
Looks like he stole somebody else's teeth.

Wrong. It's a Lilly thread.
She owes me sex

Imagine having sex with prime 2001 Evangeline.

Actually it's the Simpsons season 2-9 that is the best television ever.
Sneed.
>Redditsons
why people always pooping on season 1
its 1-9 you stinky poopy head
because it just isn't very good
it was incredible.
i rewatch it every now and then, those 3 first seasons are indeed tv magic
We have to go back.
I still haven't watched it. I remember seeing like 5-6 episodes a few years back. It was intriguing, I must admit.
I got through like three episodes. The acting, dialogue, cinematography, everything is just so absurdly pre-streaming TV style. It just looks cheap and bad, and not in a good way. Couldn't force myself to watch any further. Maybe they got the budget to make a proper show in later seasons, but I couldn't bother watching a telenovela for the hope that it might some time get better.
please die zoomer
you are:
>under 18
>brown
>a manlet
>a mixture of 6-7 different ethnic groups
>"homo" or """bi"""sexual
>addicted to adderall

>under 18
no
>brown
no
>a manlet
yeah
>a mixture of 6-7 different ethnic groups
not within the last 6-7 generations
>"homo" or """bi"""sexual
absolutely fricking not
>addicted to adderall
not anymore
>growing your tiktok """career"""
no
I still liked it
The acting is amazing. Everybody kills it
>pre-streaming TV style
No it doesn't look like a pre-streaming show. That would be shit like CSI and Law and Order. LOST actually has kino acting/cinematography, closer to a movie. I can't think of many modern shows that look better than Lost. Shit like the new Fallout show, or basically anything Netflix has ever produced looks so cheap in comparison.
even big bucks and a cast of extremely hot people could not save LOST from being completely memoryholed
blame it on Abrams being as generic and boring as possible. such a coward he is.
>completely memoryholed
The frick is this bizarre cope?
nobody gives a shit about LOST man only foreveralone permavirgin chudcels
i seriously hope thats not you anon do better
go back to resetera, Black person
i'm sorry but racism is not allowed on blue boards
enjoy your ban
Recent IMDB reviews beg to differ. Philistine.
Oh so abrams/lindelof went in on a clickfarm?
i never believed in shills but now that so many midwits work from home i do actually believe they at least side-hustle for chump change.
they'll be out of a job as soon as ChatGPT is perfected
>I only believed in clickfarms when I could imagine white people doing it
>also I’m better than people who are smarter than me
Anon.
Well that settles it. I'll finally watch Lost again, for the women. Back then I didn't like the spicy latina chick much at all but now I do. spicy hairy snatch. on Lost all the women have hairy overgrown snatches. same for Gilligans Island
>memoryholed
Why not just say forgotten? Because that’s what you mean. Lost was forgotten because the last season shat the bed. Same as game of thrones.
they actually don't mean the same thing
i forget where my car keys are
memoryholing is a collective process where society agrees to forget having their nuts played with for 6 straight seasons.
You can decide to forget things as well. You’re confirming the term is entirely ESL pidgin.
NTA, but it's form 1984 you illiterate smug moron. Was George Orwell ESL?
zoomers and trolodytes don't read classic literature
>using newspeak unironically while asserting intellectual superiority
Seems you missed the point that all newspeak was designed to contain/corral the populace’s capacity for thought.
I'm just saying where the term originates from (not from ESL pidgin). I don't use it.
You should look up what pidgin is.
? I know what it means. I'm just saying that it has nothing to do with the origins of the term "memoryholed". Stop responding to me with stupid random shit.
It has everything to do with why it suddenly increased in usage.
we got you the first time, autistic troony
better luck next time BIG HOMO
im laffin at u
crazy how something so underappreciated as long hair can make all the difference
shes also like twenty years younger and Cinemaphile
>ywm have a threesome with Evangeline Lilly and Jessica Biel
why live?
who is the biggest buttbawd?
Biel is more erotic
Tania looks a bit like Biel too
I will now buy your ball or supplements or gym membership or leggings or personal training sessions or workout dvd just gimme the sexooo
She's bullin'. That's clearly how she likes it. Rough. Like a b***h in heat. Or a bullin' cow.
Just look at men. Becoming bald in your 20s/30s is a death sentence.
And yet turbogays around here will still swear by women with short hair. Just suck a dick dude, nobody will judge you anymore.
If Lost was memoryholed then so was GoT, Breaking Bad, Heroes and every other show in the world
The only things not memoryholed are Bethesda games
GoT maybe but breaking bad is absolutely still talked about and lives on through memes. Walking dead probably got memory holed harder than any show ever despite still having spinoff shows
The point is the term is overused and meaningless
>pre-streaming
Zoom zoom bait, get out. Streaming shows didn't start with Netflix.
you may not like it, but Evangelina Lilly during Lost was PEAK female form.
who the frick doesn't like it
Yeah, I actually remember watching the commercials and understanding that it was kino, even at 6 years old. Kino taste is born, not made. I actually got ready for the pilot, had my Tostino's and Mountain Dew at the ready, and yes, it was fricking incredible. Head cannon for me after season 3 is that they were stuck in some kind of Bermuda Triangle like place, and they never escaped. My head cannon ending would've been epic if I was the writer's room.
>zoomers will never experience live /lost/ threads
Yikes.
im so upset I wasn't online till 2009
Season 5 was the best season tbh.
no
I agree with OP. And it was the biggest tv event in history. Some people compared GoT, but it was totally different.
I remember the forums that were created just for this series, the constant theories about jacob, about every single detail. It was too much and it was obvious that it was gonna disappoint a lot of people. The hype was too much. I rewatched it again last summer and I actually enjoyed it a lot.
Jack Sephard was supposed to be 40 and Evangeline Lilly was 23. It was creepy to be honest
Guys... why is aging so cruel? 🙁
Why did Kate from Lost have a career but Jack from Lost didn't?
>Kate from Lost have a career
kek, what career
Zoomer or plain moronic? She was only in two of the biggest projects of the 2010s.
You must be a zoomer. He looks extremely good as a white man in his mid 60's.
He's only 57, he looks like shit. My dad is older and looks better. Maybe adrenochrome is catching up with him?
>head full of hair
>fit
>looks like shit
On what planet? The average man in his 50's in America is a bald fatass.
>gorgeous
>great body
>funny
>rich
>opposed vaccine mandates
>broke quarantine rules
>not American
Just want to marry her tbqh
No she's mine, anon
I remember around the same time, in the middle of Lost, some channel put out a cheaply imitated series but it took place in the vast wilds of Russia or something. Probably filmed in Canada, type thing. It was full of mystery, ppl gettin killed. I recommend it if you want more of that Lost vibe taste. Season 1 of that was better than last season of Lost, as I recall. NO ONE remembers this fricking show I'm talking about
Black person, you can't recommend something you don't even know the name of
For some years there were a lot of shows trying to imitate the success of LOST with similar premises. The last one was The Leftovers. Well, we even got From a few years ago.
From is easily the closest a show I have seen come to Lost in terms of story structure and plot. A lot of the time something would happen and it would remind me of Lost.
It is a much worse show however from a writing, acting, and mystery box wanking perspective. Most of the interpersonal drama is a hard fast forward too.
Remember "the new Lost"?
I only remember the open letter the Avatar dude posted when it was cancelled.
james cameron
he means stephen lang
Remember "old Lost"?
>The Others are coming to wipe us out once and for all. It looks like this is it, Little Buddy.
This is all I've been thinking about since I finished season 3 anon, I had a hard time finishing this show after all the supernatural shit was happening and they had to go back to the island, it was just such a fricking chore to sit through, I loved the first 3 seasons
The season 3 finale is still my most memorable TV moment - perhaps others saw the ending coming, but I was so far off base. When Kate stepped out of the car, my brain really couldn't figure out what was going on until the conversation mentioned the golden ticket. In a lot of ways, season 3 has some of the best payoffs for the mysterious up to that point while weaving in more in a relatively inoffensive way.
Season 5 is the best season. Season 2 finale is the best finale. Season 3 wins most pointless season KWABOTS award (KWAB of the series award)
I still love the season but its easily the 2nd worst after 6
>Season 5 is the best season
no
S3 was namek territory
S3 raped me in the summer of 92
Lost was always midwit garbage just like everything JJ and Lindelof have ever been involved with
>seethe
Stupid show for stupid people
>I am smarter and better than you because I hate something other people like.
Anyone who seethes about Lost are just mad they made a show where religion is real.
I don't really hate S6 anymore. The ending is not THAT bad, but the general on-island storyline is that bad. Not sure why people point out the ending so much when the on-island plot is just boring back and forth trekking in the island. My guess its a bunch of casual viewers who stopped watching a while back and just tuned in to the finale and got the wrong idea.
The off-island stuff is stellar though, and pretty much a love letter to S1 in the same way S5 was to S2. I love shit like Jack and Locke connecting in LA, Ben being a teacher sacrificing himself instead of daughter, etc.
You’re praising the last season because of all the references it made to when it wasn’t shit.
Yes.
Still my least favourite season, but liked it more the 2nd and 3rd time around watching it is all.
>watched it more than once
So you gave yourself Stockholm syndrome and erased all expectations. Hell, you’re probably the guy who likes lost solely because he watched it when he was 14
>the greatest roller-coaster one can ever experience, especially if you watched it weekly. The intrigue was unparalleled
If you were mentally moronic maybe
see
>The writers didn't have all the answers, and that was okay.
It's not.
Especially when they had no answers at all.
Utter kino.
I felt season 3 got a bit confusing with the Others, I guess by design to make you confused about whether the Others were trying to manipulate the survivors or were genuine. But I agree, the first three seasons were very solid and around season 4 it jumped the shark with time travel malarkey.
Why is it so hard to find mystery box shows that actually deliver.
The only one that comes to mind is Dark
Mr. Robot is pretty good, even if the last season is a little much.
Esmail admits he just made that up as he went. Which was abundantly clear when the molestation stuff dropped
Mr Robot made it up as it went along, it's not as bad as Lost but I just can't get invested when I realize it's not planned out.
Got baited again by Yellowjackets.
The only show that seems good so far is Severance.
Christ yellowjackets completely obvious “write as you go” from the first episode.
>hey what if a sports team got in a plane crash and they weren’t found!
>uh, ashley, that’s one of the most well known survival stories of all time. It actually happened. They made a movie about it
>Uh but what if like we do the aftermath!
>we know that too. It’s all historical
>BUT WHAT IF THERES LIKE A SPOOKY CULT THING TOO!! AND SECRETS
12 monkeys
I would lump in season 4 with that. I love it, it's a shorter and much more focused season than the others, I still like 1 and 3 more but 4 definitely is very strong.
4 is a transitional season
ahh the troony season.
>I love that the writers strike forced them to stop dicking around
People fawning over Kate but forgot about best girl Alex?
My best friend's fiance looks a lot like this girl. I showed her a picture of her and she got offended. That actress is really hot, but admittedly does look a bit mid in some photos.
Was his fiance israeli or not? The actress has a particularly strong israelite face, which to be honest holds a certain strong attraction much to my chagrin. since I'm antisemitic
>none of that- healthy living--were enough to counteract the effect of aging; specifically, the loss of hormones that occurred when I was in my mid- to late thirties. I feel like my face collapsed in the past 3-4 years, taking my neck and jawline with it. My face and neck have aged 15 years in the past 3. It's absolutely incredible.
>As soon as my estrogen levels started dropping, so did the skin on my face.
The rest of ya'll know when I durn to yah
Mindblowing sex guaranteed
I'm actually on episode 11 of the finale season so good timing for this thread. Honestly season 5 and (so far) 6 haven't been nearly as bad as some people said, i think 4 was my least favourite season. I will really miss it when it's over though, bunch of strangers on a mysterious island really is the perfect setting for weird and crazy scifi/paranormal mystery box shit.
Are you on your first ever watch? Honestly, season 5 was one of my favourite seasons on first watch. It really just depends on how filtered you get by time travel. If your mind can process the time travel wackiness then it's a really solid season of television.
Season 6 was the only season I disliked on first watch, but I absolutely loved it on rewatch apart from some of the on island stuff like the temple and the trekking back and forth between camps without accomplishing much. Flash sideways are a lot better on rewatch when you know what they are supposed to mean and how they connect to the main story. I still think it's the weakest season overall, but the actual finale episode is genuinely a top 10 or 5 episode of the show and possibly one of the best finales to any show. Anyone unironically comparing the finale or the final season of LOST to GoT's finale or final season does not know what they are talking about.
Normal people didn’t watch lost more than once. Normal people knew they were being dicked around and just moved on.
Ya see when she's smilin there and having a certain look in some situations? That's usually when Kate caught sight of a giant wiener. All the signs are there, especially the glint in her eye. Rule of thumb: look for the glint. See here she's thinking to herself, crikey that's a big ole dick how's it possible
I am going to rewatch it for the first time in 6 years
>No one does it alone, Jack
>You needed all of them. And they needed you.
I cry like a b***h every time.
>pantheistic nonsense in the background
ah yes all the competing major religions are hecking cool and valid.
Which religion is true?
Catholicism.
I think the “stained glass” is just fabric too.
That set was straight up dinner theater shit.
>That set was straight up dinner theater shit.
Cope and seethe, homosexual.
100 gorillion dollars spent on "epic" cinematography for the final season of GoT and yet LOST manages to achieve so much more in just this one scene with a tiny fraction of the budget compared to what GoT achieves in its entire final season.
Weirdly distorted face
Kate watching spicy latina chick take a raunchy shit in the jungle.
>You cannot already be done little missy. Little Messy-Missy I should call you. Push with all your might, don't be bashful. Or else I'll have to get in there
Season 5 was great and I'm tired of pretending otherwise. My only complaint is that I wish we spent more time in Dharmaville before it all went to shit and their cover got blown.
The most kino part of this show was how many cast members got DUIs
What’s that movie where she plays the tough chick
OUT OF MY WAY Hispanic FRICKING SHITS!
>latina
>with a record
Consider my wiener hard and my car paint keyed
Never watched this shit, never will. If they were stuck on an island with hot girls, why didn't it just devolve into rape and murder?
is The Constant straight up one of the greatest time travel stories ever? It's such a perfect episode, being such an autistic LOST gay I almost wanna be contrarian and go against the hype behind it, because there are other episodes that rival it. But it's just true, everyone is right about this one it truly is amazing
Yeah, and Lost at some of its best. Penneh
Flashes Before Your Eyes, and Shape of Things to Come are better IMO
it was gay as frick shit that strung you along into magic monster bullshit
Unrivaled kino
>Lost
>GoT
>Sopranos
>Naruto
>Bleach
>AoT
I feel like this has been it in terms of major series that had endings that were so built up over years of discussion. One Piece kind of feels like it will be the last one...
bootyful
I remember cumming buckets to some amazing quality (at least my moronic 16 year old brain thought they looked super real) fakes using this photo shoot back in like 2009
damn
I love tighty sporty booties such as that. I never did until a year ago. It felt inappropriate to hit on the woman, single mom too, but she was a tiny lady extremely fit with the tightest, roundest, like tiny perfect volleyballs and one of my palms would easily cover one cheek and then some. It was insane. Rare. What an impression it made. I did approach her, briefly speak to her. Held my cool. But the kind of function it was... I mean nah I dunno. Damned if you do. Big doe eyes as well. Like some forest sprites with enchanting asses.
My hot take is that Walkabout wasn't even the best Locke episode in season 1.
Deus Ex Machina > Walkabout
I would also say that the ending of Deus Ex Machina is made even better by the season 2 finale, knowing that they both inspired each other to go on in their lowest moment.
Favourite LOST YouTube reactor?
kys
I can't tell if these are Indians or Americans.
an average amerimutt
frick you with your zoomer react shit
>zoomer reaction shit
>Literally every person pictured is clearly a millennial.
Why do /LOST/ threads garner so many autists and schizos?
go back to plebbit
Too bad the writers had no idead what the writing about and just pushed random shit.
Turbo giga ultra kinography
Thanks for putting that up. Been a while. Hilarious. Not the first time you see the cliffhanger but within days that shit was funny. I use to make gifs and repost a lot on a forum back in the day. as we watched it weekly, not here but place like it, it was then
the couple seconds before this gif are my favourite part where it looks like he is sprinting for the treeline to escape or something
Season 3 is better than 2 is. 2 adds a bunch of incredible world building that is instrumental to the whole series at large, but the season itself is such a drag in spots.
People give season 3 shit for having filler, but 2 has way more and even less shit happening. 3 also has the added benefit of having fun with its filler, give you a slice of life on the island, make it about the characters relationships with each other, Tricia Tanaka is Dead is better than 70% of season 2 episodes and is a total "filler" episode.
1 > 3 > 4 = 2 > 5 >>>>> 6
Season 3 was my favourite season on rewatch.
Lost was definitely a product of its time. Nowadays, no TV show would had a pass like Lost had with 20+ episodes per season in which at least half were useless filler.
And then when we finally had shorter seasons (starting at 4), the creativity had went down the hole and the writers started showing their true faces.
Truth of the matter is that everyone that followed Lost when it was airing has fond memories of it, but a rewatch destroys almost every of it, even if you're willing to go with an open mind.
>Lost was definitely a product of its time
Lost couldn't exist on a streaming service.
It needed to be on once a week at the same time for everyone.
Never has a show had so many kino characters on the main cast. But of-course only one can be the best and that one is LOCKE
>First season was fun, built excitement
>Second season was good too, carried it on and answered some questions while raising others
>Third season it became really obvious there were no answers and every episode is just filling time and trying to raise more questions
When none of the big mysteries got a satisfying answer 3 seasons in, it was fricked
What's with the newbies and trannies seething so hard? you kids need to be reminded this board was once L O S T.
This would be greenscreened in 2024.
It kinda looks greenscreend though kek
If it had been greenscreened then Mr Eko would have remained a player until the finale, like he was planned to be, instead of suddenly being killed off by the smoke monster. Dude bailed on the show because he couldn't stand filming in Hawaii for such long stretches of time.
>What's with the newbies and trannies seething so hard?
You see this on every board with every topic now, these kids are raised on a culture of critique and endless passive aggressive bickering on social media. It's like the only thing that comes to mind to them when seeing something is to start whining about or shitting on things despite having no knowledge of it
I see this all the time in GoT threads now. You can tell 90% of the posters were never in a single /got/ general during the show’s run.
Eko was such a good character. Was so sad he asked to leave the show. I guess if he never left he would have taken a lot more of Desmond's storylines.
Lost is going to be back on netflix later in the Summer. Is that going to cause a new spike in popularity?
I hope they use an AI filter to make everyone Adabisi dark
GIVE ME SOME TIIIIIIITS
Yeah probably, kinda like how zoomers like seinfeld and community now. Just put Jack or Kate in the thumbnail, easy clickbait
Season 5 of 24 is up there.
pass season 3 they just introduced more random mystery boxes without solving any.
By season 6, most audiences already checked out .
That's because ABC ruined the show by demanding 6 seasons. They were originally going to make just 4. The time travel shit was basically filler
They demanded two more seasons because they knew the “it’s all about the characters” “ending” was going to instantly kill the brand. So they milked it for two more years.
Nah, ABC wanted 10+ seasons, the creators talked them down to 6 and even cited season 3's filler episodes like Expose and Stranger in a Strange Land as why it shouldn't go that long.
Also so much of S2 was set up for S5 in hindsight, and they even drop a little hint to time shenanigans in S2 with Hurley saying something like "or what time" when talking about where the FM Radio signal is coming from. I'm not saying they always planned a full blown time travel arch, but I do think they planned a Dharma deep dive to happen at some point starting from S2.
anon they made it up as they went. nothing was "set up."
the lack of juliet posting is disappointing
Be the change you want to see
holy shit why can't they come up with a good mystery that has a beginning and an ending written before the pilot is even shot?????
I fricking hate hacks like JJ Abrams
It was a stupid show that just baited you along the whole time while getting worse and worse. The cute girl you posted was one of the only good thigns about it.
Might just rewatch lost this summer, it's been so long
Why did he tell Locke not to press the button? He was still alive so it couldn't have been MiB
daddy issues
>He was still alive so it couldn't have been MiB
It was MIB, they just didn't decide that he can only mimic dead people at that point.
Walt was like Danny Torrance from The Shining special, so he either was talking knowing the future or MIB could just copy him because of his special status.
I watched this for the first time a year ago or so and thought it was kino. Cried like a b***h at the finale too
>t. zoomer
it breaks my heart this thread was created over 24 hours ago and still hasnt hit the bump limit
Count again
They looked the same to me till I put conscious effort to discerning their features. I must be going faceblind.
Literally me when I go on a bender in Brazil
>that one guy who obsessively posts lost threads to relive being 14
The series was Shit and deserved to be forgotten. It’s done irrevocable damage to the medium by exploiting audience trust in long format fiction simply by pretending it was anything but a glorified soap opera. There won’t be anything “like it” again because audiences won’t be “dicked around” by anything that remotely resembles it
Is this show still going on? I feel like the walking dead and lost are very much related.
The walking dead, by definition, can’t be anything more than people trying to survive after a zombie apocalypse. It establishes up front it will be “soap opera, with zombies.” Lost tried to be “mysteries with interpersonal drama,” and then ended with “What was really LOST were the friends we made along the way!”
>simply by pretending it was anything but a glorified soap opera.
LOST is not the first show to do this lets be honest
Name five other shows, before or even contemporary with lost, where the writers pretended all that mattered were the interpersonal relationships between the characters.
best threads on the chans, every week, no shills, no transhomosexuals, no gay mods, just pure kino discussions
I was 16 and halfway through season 2 it became very clear to me that they were making shit up as they went along and has no answers to anything and the story was dumb
So i stopped watching
I think people that like the whole of Lost are moronic
>I think people that like the whole of Lost are moronic
They simply don't want to admit having been duped for several years.
I don't think the experience of watching the season 1 finale live will ever be topped in terms of television for me, it helps that I was young and it was the first real television show I watched. I don't think I've ever been so fricked up by cliffhangers as that, I spent probably every single day from the end of season 1 to the start of 2 thinking about where the show would be going.
>Lost was just a perfect storm of storytelling elements, released at the perfect moment in time, that will never be seen again.
this is because of Lost. The series should be renamed Constant blue balling. They conditioned people to expect a mysterybox show to never deliver
More than lost is to blame for that. Long form media has simply been poisoned by too many shows starting off with promise and shitting the bed or just getting canceled just as they’re getting off the ground.
It's basically a conspiracy where the industry knows it can make more money as a whole by continually greenlighting projects and then destroying them when they show promise. The industry doesn't want people to be focused on a specific show or program because they make more money by having the production pay for all the new talent and sets. They don't want another Seinfeld or friends were you have a small group of actors bargaining for large sums of money each episode.
> Season 3
I'm a huge fan of this show, and even I know season 3 was mostly bad. First two seasons were astoundingly good though. Then season 4 and 5 were also fantastic. Seasons 3 and 6 weren't completely unwatchable, but compared to the rest of the series they were pretty goddamn rough
I'm fairly confident you just remember it wrong and think it dragged way more than it actually did. Season 3 has more momentum and way more things happening than season 2 does. I'm not gonna shit talk season 2, but what I will say is that I don't really understand people praising season 2 in one breath then criticizing 3 for literally the same bullshit 2 is guilty of, except even more so.
Season 2 has the hatch, which is incredibly strong, problem is the hatch is really only interesting for the first 4 episodes and for the last 4, everything inbetween that is more or less filler. Season 2 doesn't really have any sense of momentum to it, it doesn't really do anything, its kind of guilty of the worst type of filler where they just hint at something big coming but it never does.
People claim that season 3 is the season where the writers didn't know where they were going, but to me it feels more things happen in 3 that are of actual interest, instead of 2 where the writers knew they already had the ticket to the finale which would be not entering the numbers, so everything leading up to that is just biding that time.
Season 3 has some problems, but I would say the overwhelming majority of that season is great. Season 3 has
Not in Portland
Flashes Before Your Eyes
Tricia Tanaka is Dead
The Man from Tallahassee
Catch-22
The Brig
The Man Behind the Curtain
Through The Looking Glass
A season with that many bangers can't possibly be "mostly bad"
>Sure, it was all mystery boxes that they didn't even have any answers to, but that's precisely what made it so captivating. The writers didn't have all the answers, and that was okay
have a nice day.
People slept on it for the first couple of episodes until the word got out. Same with things like game of thrones. People didn't like lost when it first aired. It wasn't until People who were actually watching it gave some insight into what was going on in the show did people pick it up. The shows main selling point was the suspense from one episodes cliff hanger ending to the next. Watching it today isn't the same. Back then you had to wait and talk it out with others before the next episode aired. The show eventually took a nose dive when they tried explaining everything dharma was doing.
>back then you had to le talk about it!!!
>you had to le go outside between episodes!!!
>everything was le better!!!!
Like I said people didn't like the show when it first aired. It spread through a small fan base and word of mouth. It was fun while it lasted.
Is this pic a reference to something?
Just some homosexualy twitter maymay
For me, it's Richard.
When they finally got to him and even he didn't know anything was such a bummer.
I'm actually watching LOST for the first time at the moment recovering from surgery. On season 4 right now. What am I in for, is it really all downhill from here?
>sexo with Claire
Season 4 is the peak of Lost yes.
nah season 5 is kino
Thread is making me wanna rewatch it
its a big commitment. not like this new 8 ep season shows
With the story and the whole mystery behind the island being what it is - why didn't literally everyone on the plane "survive" ? Why did people die during the crash?
