It's so good, I wish it was bi-weekly. It's nice seeing Peter act like an actual adult for once and I love his dynamics with Ben, Jonah, and MJ
>I wish it was bi-weekly
I'd rather have monthly Checchetto art than bi-weekly slop on Romita's level
why cant western artists draw weekly like mangaka ?
1. Coloring
2. Longer
3. Japanese have unhealthy work ethic and you hear stories of weekly mangaka burning out or suffering from health issues frequently
Honestly Kentaro Miura would probably still be alive had he not worked himself so fricking hard during his younger years. People joke about the massive delays Berserk went through after they got on the boat, but the man's work schedule up until then was genuinely unhealthy.
what was his work schedule? and how would working hard when your young cause you to die earlier? isn't that what youth is for? to be able to handle hard work?
>isn't that what youth is for? to be able to handle hard work?
Not when you have a fricking heart condition.
so if he already had a heart condition why do you think his work schedule caused him to die so early? it's not like he was doing hard labor he was just drawing and thinking of what to write next
>so if he already had a heart condition why do you think his work schedule caused him to die so early?
Because his egregious workload and schedule EXASCERVATED the condition.
>it's not like he was doing hard labor he was just drawing and thinking of what to write next
My brother in christ physical labor isn't the only thing that causes stress to the body.
>it's not like he was doing hard labor he was just drawing and thinking of what to write next
A friend of mine had a fricking heart attack in med school from the sheer stress and overworking himself with constant overnighters to study. You're seriously underestimating the damage a life style like that can do to a person.
Also have you fricking seen Miura's artwork? The kind of shit he was drawing was far from easy work.
Also, I heard more times than I can remember that lack of sleep causes the risk of heart attack to be higher, besides stress.
He would literally work all day, aside from an hour to eat lunch and watch tv, and sleep for a couple hours max. Overworking yourself like that can do lasting damage to your body.
Things will get a lot better once the mangaka stop thinking you can survive on instant eamen, when healthy food costs about the same over there. You ain't getting fricking sashimi and shit, but it's healthier than instant ramen. No matter where it comes from, trying to survive on it is about as sane as an all-potato chip diet.
They need some multivitamins and Omega 3s.
Gintama literally made a parody of it of every editor and mangaka that went insane due to that
Meanwhile huro mashima is making a weekly manga, a monthly manga, writing the scripts for a biweekly manga, making a game, and still can play the new big video releases
>1. Coloring
Most comic artists don't color their own work, same for mangaka.
It's part of the process, though. The inker or whoever has to pass finished art along to the colorist.
Because Mangaka have a staff of about 6-8 assistants they hire with their own money to hit those deadlines.
Because no one should kill themselves working over manga or comics
i still don't understand how the frick Toriyama was able to pull off an entire chapter in three days when he was a lazy frick. If anythign this tells me that editors ask for too much shit man, how do u spend almost full 4 days in just manuscript
Toriyama was based.
The superior Alex Hirsch
Say what you will about Super/GT, but Toriyama was , especially a young Toriyama, was the absolute GOAT.
Toriyama is quite literally a prodigy of an artist we cannot comprehend, he made Dragon Ball on a week to week basis, no long term planning beyond what he thought was cool and what his editor told him to do
The story behind Sand Land is hilarious to me because it boiled down to him originally wanting to draw a cool tank but then he realized "Oh crap, I have to draw this tank every week" and by the time the manga ended he fricking hated that tank
But seriously, Toriyama's mechanical stuff is underappreciated
he made Super Saiyan to help his assistants with inking and he later on to create Cell
It's not like Dragon Ball is great or anything.
isn't he just an assistant to araki? why is he working 18 hours straight and only sleeping for two hours?
Muh tradition, muh teeth cutting, working muh way up, etc...
Shit's just ingrained in their culture and practices for whatever reason.
All that work to write slop?
>as if manga isn't completely eating Marvel and DC's lunch
USM is the only thing to get me interested again in years.
Well, they're artists, not writers.
they can't, that's why the have a shit ton of assistants. Not everyone is Oda or Toriyama, those are actually insane
>they can't, that's why the have a shit ton of assistants
so why dont western artists use assistants ?
because that'd mean paying people, and companies really really really dislike that.
Many artist now get the same pay the used to get when they started 20/30 years ago but now with less help from other people and worse schedules.
>Not everyone is Oda or Toriyama
Oda uses plenty of assistants.
Toriyama also had an assistant.
Don't mangaka have a lineup of assistants to help them? iirc the Chainsaw Man creator had assistance who focused on drawing backgrounds
Also frick dude, comics as they are aren't worth weekly bullshit. Talk about writer burnout, you'd get reader burnout
too much detail and they are too far up their own asses to stoop to the level of your average manga which would actually sell
Unless you are some artistic monster, the weekly grind will eventually frick up your health. Just look at how many breaks Manga like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia had in 2023 because the authors are coughing up their lungs.
>Jujutsu Kaisen
This looks like ass.
>My Hero Academia
This has like 5 or more assistants.
Damn, that schedule must really be rough.
One is made for fujos, the second has been on a downhil
this is from the "downhill" manga. this is a weekly. even their breaks are just a week long. assistants aside, western artists at marvel just cant compare
Because MHA became ALSO a Fujo comic, Fujos are a plague, comic or manga, they are a plague on par with speculators.
Mangaka handle writing, story planning, art and character designs all by themselves and work 6 days out of the week to produce a chapter.
They can hire assistants to handle backgrounds while they do character art, something that is optional but necessary
Comics are far more regimented in their structure and would be impossible to pull off
because a weekly schedule is completely untenable and the way they make manga overseas is different compared to how we make it here as explained by a few anons. Overall i'd say manga has a better system with its biggest problem being that it completely destroys artists who try to go for the weekly grind. Imagine a world where Togashi didn't end YYH as a frick you to his bosses and he didn't have to constantly take hiatuses for HxH because the previous work he did destroyed his body.
You want western comic art, already rushed and sloppy, to be even *more* rushed and of shittier quality?
Two reasons. They don't have assistants and they have enough self respect to not work the slave hours they do in Japan.
Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko could. John Byrne can.
All their art styles were also far simpler/ less "realistic" than what you see in Ultimate spider-man.
It’s meh. Let’s wait until issue 4 and then we’ll see where the real story lies
It was SOLID but I'm not jumping for joy just yet. It has my attention but so far all we've seen is set up for a story rather than a story itself.
Why are everyone talking about issue four? Is there a leak of sime kind?
It was a good comic but hyperbole won't do it any favors.
gobby is absolutely ben, right?
The physique doesn't fit, unless it's a remote control drone. Evil Ben Parker would piss people off a lot.
>shitty modern writing has conditioned us to think this way, we can't accept good things happening
It's good but hardly the first good one in 15 years
>lost hunt
>humanity agenda
>Joe fixing
>alien
>spider girl
>renew your vows
>life story
*Fixit*
If Spider-man comics have been terrible for decades, why the frick you people keep following him?
I swear, you're like Sonic fans: full on masochists.
Anon 15 years isn't decades.
The run from start up till Clone Saga was just that good.
It's a solid start. Cautionally optimistic.
Hope Hickman doesn't shit the bed with autistic exposition charts, or the editorial stepping in and fricking up his plans.
>Hope Hickman doesn't shit the bed
Spencer’s run was good
lol as a fan of Spencer I can say, frick no.
I'll give you the first few Ottley issues were fun, but overall that is some trash.
Sin Eater and Kraven arcs are best it ever gets, and even how hard it shits the bed makes the whole thing frustratingly unreadable.
His arc with Pete and spidey split was good and the initial idea with kindred was great. Its a shame editorial shat the bed as hard as it did on it
>and the initial idea with kindred was great. Its a shame editorial shat the bed as hard as it did on it
The possibilities of Kindred could have been great but the execution was weak even before the rewrites started showing. He was just another spooky, ominous mystery box villain who only fricked with people through basic violence.
It would have been better but I'm not convinced whatever direction it was going for would have been that good. And it's not like it ever had a chance in hell of undoing OMD.
It had enough of a chance given how long it went before editorial stepped in lol
A chance in following through on OMD. I don't even buy the line that Spencer was planning on it, maybe addressing it and then putting it back in the box, but even that didn't work out.
He should have written in some exit plans anyway, or at least written the rest good enough to stand on it's own feet rather than just retconning retcons.
He absolutely was planning on undoing it, i mean even themselves admit he was lol
It'd be a noble goal but one undercut by being phenomenally stupid.
It's not like Marvel office wasn't going to notice if their top selling book and face brand has a major status quo shift without their approval.
As down as I am on the guy's writing, he's still a professional in the industry.
Its likley a case where he interpreted an okay as permission, and then they were so dumb they didnt notice untill it wa too late
I've always assumed his plan was to set it up so much that editorial wouldn't be able to stop him without looking really really stupid. He obviously underestimated how stupid they are willing to look to get their way
He was fine
it started alright when editorial let him believe he'd get to undo OMD but then it turned into wheel-spinning and moronation once it became clear they weren't actually going to let him do it
>good comic
>just 40 pages of people talking at each other
How about reading non-cape indie comics then?
Nick...
Ditko never did an issue of Spider-Man that didn't have action. Not even issue 18 which they noted at the end was unusual in that the story wasn't about beating a supervillain. All we got in this book was a single page of movie-Goblin blowing up a car.
It was wankery for a section of the fanbase that's hated the book for the past 12 years yes.
(I'm part of said group, just so we're clear)
It was also pretty mediocre. A guy that's extremely well off, with a gorgeous wife and two kids still isn't happy, so he takes the word of someone he has every reason to believe killed his Aunt in a terrorist attack to become a vigilante.
Maybe it'll get better, but the bar was on the ground and this book just managed to trip over it.
>canonically creampied MJ at least twice
could always get retconned or sold to mephisto
It's just like how PS4 Spider-Man canonically had to have creampied Felicia at least once in order for him to be genuinely worried he might have a secret kid with her
Peter is kinda stupid sometimes even if he didn't he would still believe her
Do people not know how pregnancies work? You can have unprotected sex as long as the girl isn't ovulating.
Yeah, but how many men know the girl they're casually fricking isn't ovulating? You have nobody's word but hers. Especially a woman like Felicia, who you know isn't afraid to lie to get her way.
Actually, a sperm can survive 5 days in a woman, so if she is irregular and starts ovulating, say, 4 days latter, there is a small but not insignificant chance of that woman getting pregnant.
i didnt like it.
It's refreshing to see him and every other character not act like quippy manchildren. But that was a boring first issue that already spelled out Peter's relationship to his cast halfway through 40 pages. Great, his closest family is agreeable with him and supportive, get to the meat.
is this the new thread?
yes
I don't fully feel the hype but I legit feel glad others are
You know that scene from Ratatouille when Ego eats Remy's food?
That's the same impression I get from you guys
I didn't like it. For several reasons:
1. Without becoming Spider-Man as a teenager, Peter would never get a job at the Daily Bugle. He would have ended up as some scientist working for Stark/Osborn/the government.
2. Without becoming Spider-Man in his teens, he would never have met and married MJ. The only reason they ended up together in E616 was because she knew he was Spider-Man and liked him for it. If he had stayed the same nerd he was before being bitten by a spider, she wouldn't have even looked at him, let alone married him and given him 2 children.
3. Uncle Ben alive and working for the Daily Bugle is also so out of character that I don't even want to go into it.
I probably won't read the next issue. At the moment it just reminds me of "The 80s" and "The 90s" issues of SMLS, but a bit more bizarre. I'm waiting for more reviews of the first 10 issues or so, and if people still say it's good, I might read it. For now I have Spider-Boy, which I have enjoyed so far, and maybe ASM gets better after the Gang War, I dunno.
Hickman can brush off all "it wouldn't have worked out this way" by pointing out that this is an entirely different universe with its own rules. It's not 616.
An alternate universe that's had its entire history fricked with by an outside force at that.
I agree somewhat about the bugle thing, but I don’t see why MJ wouldn’t be with Peter without him being spidey. She was looking for stability and their stories mirrored each other, besides the story is massively changed by him being orphaned as a teen so he doesn’t see Ben and may as direct parental figures
>i dont like it because...its not the same as 616
thats the point?
May was trying to set Peter up with MJ all the time in the Ditko run. That had nothing to do with him being Spider-Man. Plus, her knowing since AF#15 was a retcon that only existed to force the "parallel live" shtick that Conway was doing.
You didn't like it because you're too much of a fanboy.
What would Spider-Man be without MJ, The Daily Bugle and Uncle Ben? You think a new universe means something new and original, that's not written as a rule anywhere moron. Next you will start crying because he fights The Green Goblin or something
Slott, get off Cinemaphile. You have deadlines to hiy
>spiderboy
>asm
Top kek, the most midwit comment so far
As much as I hate to give Slott a win, the first two issues of Spider-Boy are so much better than this "38 pages of people talking, one car explosion, and one pose" book.
Hmm... nah. You just want action figures fist-fighting each other. There has to be some set-up and world building though, it's issue 1 in an alternate universe and an origin story simultaneously.
Do you really need all that to tell you who Peter Parker, Mary Jane and Uncle Ben are? If it's going to take that much set up you might as well make an original character, the entire point of AU is we know these people
>Do you need to see who these characters are when they now all have significant changes in their pasts
homie are you stupid
You don't need an exposition dump these reveals can happen naturally or any change should be obvious simply by how the character acts
I enjoyed it, but I see your point.
Yeah its an AU
Even Bendis's first issue of Ultimate Spider-Man, which was criticized for being talky and decompressed and not even having Spider-Man appear in costume (which this issue admittedly does do) had more action than this issue.
This has more characterization and pathos in the first six pages than Slott had in an entire run. Action without setup and investment is nothing. Slott's shit is a shallow saturday morning cartoon puddle full of toyetic ideas.
There was no pathos, it was just feel-good pandering to people who want to see a married Peter and Mary Jane followed by a lot of cold speeches written by a robot trying to masquerade as someone who can feel feelings.
It was a story about a man who should feel fulfilled but doesn’t and doesn’t hide that irony from the family that loves him. It’s more interesting than any copy pasted concept from any Slott comic anon.
It's dumb. Peter Parker in this continuity is a Millennial but he's acting like a whiny Gen Xer because his good home and good job and good family just aren't *good* enough to fulfill him. That was a Gen Xer end-of-history thing, Millennials and zoomers can't relate to that.
The frick anon? He's been rattled and feels like he hasn't done enough good with his life and needs to do more. It's not about his family, he's basically having a career crisis.
Eh it’s fine as a framing device for the first issue
>pathos
Speak for yourself then. Because seeing my favorite hero feel empty inside and longing for something he does not know what - a life that has doomed just about every alternate universe counterpart of his to a life of strife and drama and tragedy - while all other versions of him that have what this version of Peter longs for wants what he has now... that is deserving of pity.
You have a man who has every thing he ever wanted... and he's happy. But he feels like something is missing. If another version of him could talk to him they'd tell him to leave the mask alone - probably keep the powers, but be happy with his life as Parker, not Spider-Man.
And the feelgoodness is extremely deserved, because look at the character we're talking about. One who's daughter died, his marriage was shanked by the devil, his father figure murdered when he was little more than a child, and the old woman who raised him as a mother is always on the verge of death when she's not hating his alter ego.
His greatest critic is now a major support in his life without irony, and he got to have both his parents and surrogate parents with him. He is happily married with two loving and loved children, he is successful and respected, and it's earned. For Peter Parker, that is deserved.
Now he's longing for a live that could ruin everything for him and strip it all away like it has many a version of himself. And that is deserving of pity. That is pathos.
There's a bunch of ones that are both spidey and have a family
And their lives are in consistent danger. MC2 Peter didn't want his daughter risking her life like he did. He gave her his blessing because she would have continued without it, but at least he can guide her somewhat. For all the good that it does, considering the generational problems that haunt her... because of the life he led before she was born.
RYV Peter and MJ take their daughter out to fight crime and no way you shake that is a good idea. One day it's mole people and mutants who want to overthrow humans, even if it means killing them and Peter's family. Other days it's the family alien that wants to kill Peter who is now wearing his wife and the mother of his child.
And oh, right, he still has a dead child who is dead because she and his wife were caught in the crosshairs of his being Spider-Man.
>RYV Peter and MJ take their daughter out to fight crime and no way you shake that is a good idea
Renew Your Vows will always be moronic for this very reason.
Slott is so consistently awful at characterisation. He just relies on one or two soundbites or catchphrases he can repeat each issue and thinks that's it.
You can’t trick us Danny, we aren’t reading your OC shit.
We get it Dan, you can't read.
please, go into number 3. what is ben’s “character”? what was even his profession in the original continuity?
nta but iirc he was a war vet and electrician/mechanic. At least in the novel for the Raimi films (wouldn't go with that because he turned out to be a real dick, according to Peter David), he worked for decades at a power plant of some kind.
That said, heading the Bugle wouldn't be in his bag, but he and Jonah are close. Not a stretch that Jonah mentored Ben and taught him the ropes.
>Uncle Ben alive and working for the Daily Bugle is also so out of character that I don't even want to go into it.
Okay, genuine question, when has Ben Parker's employment really been covered in any detail?
There was a flashback story during the Clone Saga where Ben worked at a factory and helped a guy out going to night school.
>Without becoming Spider-Man in his teens, he would never have met and married MJ
No? He met MJ because of Aunt May and Aunt Anna, dummy
>The only reason they ended up together in E616 was because she knew he was Spider-Man and liked him for it.
Wrong. She was intrigued by it but ultimately put off seeing Peter for a long time because she was afraid of getting to know him
> If he had stayed the same nerd he was before being bitten by a spider, she wouldn't have even looked at him, let alone married him and given him 2 children.
Up to speculation, she would have definitely met him eventually, and maybe his personality would win through on its own.
>For now I have Spider-Boy,
oh, hi Dan, you had me for a second there
>The only reason they ended up together in E616 was because she knew he was Spider-Man and liked him for it
That's not even remotely true
10 out of 10 all around.
>PEETEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
>WAKE UP PETEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
>STOP HANGING OUT WITH YOUR CHILDREN PETER
>STOP CUMMING INSIDE YOUR HOT REDHEAD WIFE PETER
>YOU'VE GOT TO WAKE UP PETEEEEEEEEEEEEEER

>THIS IS NOT YOUR LIFE PETER, YOUR LIFE WAS MEANT TO BE SPENT WITH MASKED SCHIZOS PETER
>TAKE THE SPIDER-BITE PETER AND ESCAPE THE MATRI-I MEAN THE MAKER
I can't wait for Stark to try and sell Peter a super-hero life improvement program for several thousand dollars.
This has me curious. What was the worst financial decision Spider-Man has ever made?
Don't invest in a spider-themed restaurant
I would have tried the food there.
Lowe is fricking weird
https://twitter.com/nick_lowe_/status/1745088393283829786
Don't think he thought this one through.
He's trying desperately to show how not mad he is about this, and that he's in on the joke.
Does he ever?
>good Spider-Man comic
Doubt it.
nick lowe is a moron
Any connection to Bendi's Ultimate or can I read this without any reference material?
No connection, though it does tie in heavily to Ultimate Invasion and Ultimate Universe.
IT BEGINS
Lets not be to hasty about celebrating success, Tom Taylor’s Jon Kent Superman also got this accolade briefly
Because the first thing he did on the first comic was making Jon a homosexual who cant live with a dick up his ass to motivate him.
Shit was so bad that Superman left the planet to get new kids for him and let lois deal with the fallout.
>doesn't know how comics work
yawn. wake me up when #2 is a best seller
One thing I don't understand is why this new Ultimate Peter still works at the Daily Bugle. Peter was scientifically-minded, so without Spider-Man getting in the way of his life and studies he should have gone fully into science and actually gotten his doctorate in chemical engineering. Would make more sense if he was working at Oscorp.
>actually gotten his doctorate in chemical engineering
Why that? I thought Peter was more into the technology side of things. He built the webshooters and the spider tracers.
He also made the webfluid, which is pretty substantial and the first thing he ever made. The webshooters came second.
He might have dabbled in a few things. Or ended up becoming a reporter in the Bugle's science column, given that America is run by a cabal of technocrats in this universe.
This Peter seems to have had average smarts even with an interest in science.
That's just Liz putting him down. She was always tsundere.
What a c**t.
He's probably just "gifted". Like 140 IQ. It's pretty good, but not genius level.
i always assumed that the spider bite augmented Peter's genius level IQ to supernatural levels like it did with everything else about him. Peter as he normally was is probably smart enough to get a PHD, the spider bite pushed him into the realm of super science
At some point people will just have to accept the fact that anyone considered "smart" in cape-shit means they can do all the science. To greater or lesser degrees, but it's just unavoidable that "doing unrealistic shit with SCIENCE" is a thing that can happen in these comics without a super-power. Sometimes they try to justify it, but come on.
I assume that since his uncle worked at the Bugle, he became more interested in journalism than his 616 or Ultimate versions ever were.
it's a pretty simple explanation that without the impetus of Spider-Man he conceivably could have lost interest in science, and his uncle gave him his first job and he worked his way up
Weird that it doesn't seem like Peter and Harry Osborn have any prior relationship. Not sure why they bothered killing off Norman and having Harry be the Goblin then.
>Weird that it doesn't seem like Peter and Harry Osborn have any prior relationship.
They didn't become friends untill Harry opened up to him in college about his dad getting worse after the accident with the Goblin formula, and Peter then temporarily fixing the situation by giving Norman amnesia.
Norman dies before that happens here so that's already a diverging point. My guess would be Harry had to focus on taking over the company rather than getting an education at ESU, and so they didn't end up sharing a class. Peter not being in a science job also points to a possible different college path.
Wonder if they'll remember that Harry and Gwen knew each other before ESU.
>Not sure why they bothered killing off Norman and having Harry be the Goblin then
To be fair we don't technically know that Harry IS the Goblin in this universe. That said ASM 2 and MSM17 had Harry as a Goblin first so there's precident, though I don't think it works.
Which villains do people want to see the most in here?
Slyde, the second one. He's funny and mostly innocent and I like him.
I wanna see Mysterio
I'd like to see what Hickman does with Doc Ock, Vulture and the Lizard, since he gravitates towards these megalomaniac scientist types.
The Shocker, but also he's a direct parallel to Peter's situation where he's older, has a family, and isn't treated like the universe's whipping boy.
Kraven
Hickman wouldn't do something moronic like mutant lion Kraven right?
Sandman.
Yeah, and Armor will end up as Apocalypse lmao.
I still dont get why Hickman decided to make a Great Value Ultimate universe they didnt allow him to use universe 1610 or he wanted to do something different?
1610 was already fricked over by Loeb, and then blown up.
>universe 1610
Too much baggage. Over there Peter's already had most of his adult adventures in a two year time span. In adulthood he'd be way too experienced and powerful.
Probably because Marvel did originally want a real Ultimate reboot between Spider-Men and Cates' set-up but Hickman had a better pitch and more sway after X-Men
1610 is better off dead after the damage Millar and Loeb did basically bled it dry of readers. Any kind of Ultimate revival would have either required a new universe or a hard reboot unless they wanted it to fail out of the gate.
>Peter becomes a real functioning adult that’s married with children and a successful job because he was raised by a man instead of a woman.
Based
He was raised by both. May only died six months ago, and he had both his parents up until he was fifteen.
It's the stable and supportive nuclear family that was key, anon.
>and he had both his parents up until he was fifteen
Really?
Yup, per his discussion with Ben, he moved in with May and Ben when he was fifteen.
Ben says it when Pete talks with him at the bar.
The why didn't he name his daughter after his mother? May died after Mayday was born.
probably felt like he wanted to honor the people who took him in when he was in a really turbulent time in his life
Not only that, in this universe he lost his parents until he was 15.
I wonder if Reed killed his parents. I know he fricked over this realities Reed Richards who was probably not as psychopathic as 1610 as he was closer to 616 ( which is why he fcking killed his friends and put him in an iron mask). Peter was one of his targets he tried killing on 1610 ( I don't know why tho).
Well we don't know when the rest of the F4 died, so maybe that psycho killed Doom-Reed wife, brother in law and his best friend.
Make me wonder where the real Viktor is, since Maker took over his turf.
How did Cinemaphile react to picrel back in the day?
I remember hating the opening arc but liked the rest of it for the most part, its closing issue is decent but the run is soured by canonizing Teresa Parker, I wonder if Zdarsky owed Waid a favor
So I just read it. Haven't read Spider-Man in decades. This was pretty dull.
So how long until we see Miles Morales?
the moment this little shitstain shows up, I'm dropping this book.
what if he dies?
>is introduced
>"Hey, my name is Mil-ACKKKK!!!!!"
>Norman - who is actually alive - teleports behind him and snaps his neck
>"Oh, hey, you're that Parker kid, right? Anyway, I'm alive again, hi."
that would be acceptable.
You guys are such miserable people Jesus christ
>Tony is becoming Kang
>Reed is Doom
>Peter got a weirdly made almost alien costume that appears as a black ball
Peters gonna end up as Venom
>>Reed is Doom
There's a theory that he's actually Ben Grimm because of the blue eyes
what
the original book shows its clearly reed and that he has brown eyes.
someone dump it here
We've already had the storytime thread:
>Peter is better off as Peter parker than spider-man
Dude these frickers know what makes Peter as a characters is his responsibility and his personal sacrifices he has to make? Co is fricking moronic
>Dude these frickers know what makes Peter as a characters is his responsibility and his personal sacrifices he has to make?
So...Are you saying he never had to male any personal sacrifices as a normal human man? Are you saying being a good husband and father didn't teach him responsibility?
Do you truly believe Peter Parker can't learn to be be a responsible adult without Spider-Man? Because one of Peter's greatest flaws has always been putting so much of the responsibility onto being a hero, that he forgets about his civilian responsibilities and keeps fricking it up leading to guilt over hid inability to properly juggle relationships and "Work".
You are talking about 1610 not 616 who is essentially going through a mid life crisis while life is on easy mode for him. Being Spider-man because of one mistake that cost him a personal loved one because he was selfish for it is what makes Peter Parker Spider-man. Finding balance is what makes Peter Parker a beloved character. Not one side or the other
anons im rartded where do i read it. it's not up on the usual sites yet
never mind anon just linked it thank u<3
>Peter's 35 years old
Wait, so when did he marry MJ and have kids?
Based on his kids' ages, probably when they were in their mid-20s.
You think one of the kids is an accident?
>Peter became a dad at the same age as me
Finally, a Peter Parker I can look up to as an adult
For some reason, this universe's premise remind me of this song
Great tune, anon. Thanks!
no and not just because the beard sucks, there have been much better Spider-Man comics
Its too hard to be excited when you know Miles Morales will show up somehow
That or the other thing, it's like that new Transformers comic however good it starts we all know it won't be allowed to stay good.
Are the Paul memes dead?
>I can't believe I've been balls deep in my supermodel wife instead of swinging around the city in a mask this entire time
>My life is BULLSHIT
He's just like me fr
I want this comic to win an Eisner
Not because I think Eisners are worth a damn personally but because I want USM to humiliate Spider-Man editorial even more
not going to happen because eisner isn't won by corporate comics
didn't Squirrel Girl win an Eisner or two
she did? must have been because she looked as if she had down syndrome...
I like it, but we got a few good books in those 12 years.
Ben Reilly: Spider-Man and Spider-Man Lost Hunt especially
>Ben Reilly: Spider-Man
It was really good. A nice palette cleanser after seeing what became of him being resurrected, and the disappointment of Peter David's run, and then Beyond, and Chasm...
Jesus, poor Ben.
>a journalist and a fashion designer affording that kind of place in NY
Either MJ hit the big time or the economic situation in 6160 is a lot better than ours
Don't forget
Two kids
it's a very different world, going by ultimate invasion
Yeah, when I saw that house in the previews I assumed that Peter was a big shot scientist at Oscorp, not a low-ranking reporter at a relatively minor local newspaper.
Who is gonna get Gwen Stacy'd in this universe? My bets are on Richard.
Is it Gwen Stacy'd or Uncle Ben'd? I don't know if we can consider Mays death an Uncle Ben moment since Pete wasn't even Spidey at that point
I guess both count, but Gwen died because Peter used his powers too irrationally in that moment.
I hope no one. I want the idea of "canon" of Miles' shitty movie to go to hell.
I AM SO HIGH
I CAN HEAR HEAVEEEEEEEEEEN
We need to go back.
Can you hear the angels singing as our hero swings through NY? Finally, he came back.
Don't forget about Gang War
No, let's definitely forget about Gang War
bravo hickman
I knew something was up when Pete's son was named Richard instead of Ben.
original ultimate was a lot of bio-shit like genetic mutations "the next war will be a genetic war" will this one be tech since green goblin has a damn iron man suit?
It reflects the scientific advances of the time. In the 60s nuclear power and bombs was on everyone's mind, in the 90s-2000s you had cloning and the human genome project, nowadays I guess it's drones and AI and shit.
Cover for USM #4
I really hope Ben and Jonah know Peter is Spidey. It would be a nice change of pace and both are usually strongly in his corner when they find out.
IT'S THAT MASKED MENACE.
hmm, Roxxon popping up again
Roxxon is capitalism incarnate, it is a constant eternal evil in the multiverse.
kek, that icon for Jonah is literally from a panel in the first issue
Fricking hell what would Ultimate Agger be like considering that Maker manipulated so that heroes never came to be
Would he be the next Bill Gates
Seems like they made Uncle Ben a journalist to explain why Peter works at the Bugle despite not being Spider-Man. Maybe we'll get some additional reason later, like he was expelled from college after being implicated in a cheating scandal.
Part of me kind of wishes that Aunt May were still alive and she were the no-nonsense reporter working at the Daily Bugle instead of Ben. Wouldn't even require changing the plot at all.
JFC you guys
Seriously?
It's not great, or even good. It's pretty meh.
People have been starving for a decent Spider-Man book for years, what did you expect?
Then they better buy the frick out of the issues instead of dropping off like what happened with RYV
I meant more about how many ratings and read/collected stats it has gotten in under a day
This isn't normal for League of Comic Geeks
Not even for a first issue, it took months for DWJ's Transformers and Ewing's Immortal Thor to get this much traction and I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the week USM will surpass both
Noone gives a frick about transformers or thor, anon
Stop spitting facts anon, you're gonna upset him.
Even if you think that way, the traction is absurd
Literally every other first issue in the history of LOCG hasn't had traction this huge on the first day of release
I know it's to be expected given the circumstances (it's Hickman on Spider-Man AND Peter Parker's married to MJ with kids) but I can't help but be impressed
i think there are alot of people like me who are only interested because it has ultimate in the title.
homie, it has more traction that Ultimate Invasion and I don't think the other Ultimate ongoings are gonna see this huge of a surge on a first day of release
Maybe it'll do better than expected but still not on the same level USM is doing now
>I don't think the other Ultimate ongoings are gonna see this huge of a surge on a first day of release
no duh. they're not spider-man.
Ive been out of comics for awhile because man did it just suck to keep up on shit but i couldnt avoid people talking about the new Ultimate Spider-man online today and now im back in at least for some of this ultimate stuff until it shits the bed.
People fricking love spider-man
Reads has already hit 1000
It's incredible how you can come to Cinemaphile and see a few people still say it's meh or it's shit to a pretty damn great comic lol
I didn't read the previous Hickman stuff, is this Stark terrorist attack going turn out to be Bush did 9/11?
More like new world order kind of stuff.
ultimate illuminati hijacked a stark/stane orbital laser and blasted the stark/stane tower and surrounding area as an opening bid to take over North America in secret, while making it look like ultimate iron lad did it
Are the ultimate illuminati israeli?
penis
If your dick looks like that, you're probably a mutant.
Did Fisk die?
No, look again. He got away.
Son of a b***h is worse than a bug.
I'm pretty sure Life Story came out in the last 12 years.
Life Story was bad, a lame story that didn't even use it's gimmick premise well and the art was bad.
whats the absolute worst spiderman book
Probably one of the big dramatic issues so far from the Wells run, or One More Day. Maybe even something from the Clone Saga, if you're feeling retro
Does Trouble count?
I don't get why people get so grossed out by it, newsflash your grandparents fricked
>I don't get why people get so grossed out by it, newsflash your grandparents fricked
Doesn't May cheat on Ben and would have had him raise someone else's kid?
believe that May fricks Richard Parker, and gets knocked up with Peter and Ben knew because he was firing blanks
That's reason enough for it to be reviled, anon. That's just as bad as Sin's Past. The frick was Marvel's problem with literal, actual conspiracy to cuck back then?
Get Kraven
That shit was fricking ass
Since my other picks were already mentioned, I'll say Maximum Carnage.
90s edge and not in a good way. Plus mindless violence just for the sake of it
how will Hickman bring back Stormin' Norman? He's not just gonna play it straight and have him be dead, right?
Norman and his wife are among the dead.
And Harry took over
i would laugh if peter and harry's relationship here is akin to peter and the goblin in unlimited, and harry becoming a superhero to protect normie and liz from the other powers.
Unless Harry in this timeline Married with Naoko Yamada, and Liz married Flash, which would leave Debra and Morbius as the TAS couple where they work with Octavius
Feels like we're in the 90's nostalgia cycle where their pushing Harry as the Goblin.
Which is pretty lame because his predicated on Norman's legacy but hey.
>ASM has been consistently mediocre-to-shit for 15 years
Its weird that I was reading the JMS run in 2011 and then when I actually read a more recent Spider-Man(at the time) comic both 616 and 1610 Peter were killed off at the same time. I've been seething more than I've enjoyed Spider-Man this whole time
>no love for Spencer
Shut like this is why Spider-man fans are toxic.
He has so much filler issues it was a chore to read because you could remove a good amount that didn't push the narrative and the run would have been a lot shorter.
Not that anon but I thoroughly enjoyed Spencer's run. Editorial really fricked him over
I will never forgive them for putting Miles in place of Ben Reilly for that sins past crap.
Not every conversation has to be this Ben and Miles thing, anon
>Twitter shit
Spider-Man threads are full of idiots from there
Anon, Spider-man threads are full of idiot mexicans from discord
As a Dragon Ball fan, I know your pain.
Is it a good or bad thing we haven't gone full /dbs/?
Granted, they already colonized the Death Battle general (not like anything of value was lost though)
Anywhere ESL posters frequent is already lost, so it doesn't really matter.
It's good but.....I kind of want them to give him his own original Spidey suit. Lean in to the alt universe, signify it
Where are the Ultimates?
6 months in the future apparently. They do have an announced on going though. I don't know the longevity of this new verse because after the sphere opens and they kill Makers dumb ass what will they do?
Well the Maker fricked a up a lot of shit and changed some hero into ennemies. And gave power to buttholes. Gotta deal with them. I guess Thor will need to go frick up Loki ass to reclaim Asgard too.
Assuming they don't keep Maker as an ongoing threat they've still let the cat out of the bag. This universe has superheroes and villains now and that's enough to keep shit going just like the original Ultimate Marvel.
Spider-Man comics have NEVER been good.
Anyone hate those stupid ass storm breaker variants. I don't even know what issue I'm fricking buying and then when I go to reread my comics I have to take out the comic and look at the back page. Don't make variant covers where I can't figure out what issue number is.i love my LCS but they need to not get these variants. They also got the lamer covers for usm which was astounding.
>I don't even know what issue I'm fricking buying an
i also dislike those covers and for that same reason
I liked it, but I can't help but feel like it's way too tangled in the webs of the wider Ultimate universe's narrative and its own metatextual narrative as a response to the current state of ASM for me to consider it a GREAT story.
I'd never tell someone to read this as their first Spidey comic, which is a bit of an ick for me with #1's.
Honestly by itself it can stand.
Peter feels unfulfilled because he's not Spider-Man. He feels like this in every universe he isn't Spidey, because he IS Spidey and always manages to become a hero (that is, if he isn't evil). Even without the plot device here Peter finally become Spider-Man is just true to his character so it's possible to just ignore the plot device, because his crisis of self here makes sense and is true in almost every other universe.
Oh yeah I'm not really saying that it doesn't make sense or anything, more like the issue very much feels like a pay off to the years of grief both irl and within the comics themselves regarding the stuff surrounding OMD, which will be lost on readers who might pick it up as their first Spider-Man comic.
I guess it's weird to judge it like that, but this is also like the first issue of a totally new ongoing comic,I just kinda wish it was more divorced from all that stuff y'know? With a more proper introduction to all the characters, like the old USM.
I just hope this run actually has a chance to stretch its legs and doesn't just revolve around big events in the wider Ultimate story.
it's definitely not an origin story
So if Matt Murdock is blind doesn't that mean he has powers but decided to go into the priesthood? I guess his dad wasn't killed.
What if Matt listens to the confessions and can tell who is repentant or not so during the night, he Punishes them?
Have we seen Frank in this universe yet?
No, and for that matter, I don't remember what happened to U-Frank after that Ultimates mini. I think he died during Secret Wars 2015?
Maybe he is a priest at day but a devil at night
>Tony got to Matt with his catalyst and pulled him into superheroics before he got to Peter
>We just didn't get to see it because he doesn't have his own book
>The first good Spider-Man comic book published in the last 12 years.
Hey, I liked it, but Life Story was also kino
I bought it for the resell value cause one of the shops around me was selling cover A for $15.
There’s no resell value on comics, dumbass.
can't wait for the seethe when pic related happens lol
I'd cheer if it was a young, time displaced Miguel. Like in Time Storm.
>Kid from the future goes back to the past
>Meets a literal legend of a superhero, one of the greats
>Never really cared about 'The Age of Heroes' before, but sees what a genuinely great person he was
>Becomes inspired to be like him as a result
>Later in life actually ends up becoming his successor
It would be kino imo
has potential but time travel is already muddying up this universe and I think miles would be like 20 now so no chance of peter being a teacher
Good point. Also now that I think of it, Miles would be... in his late early thirties, if Peter is 35.
Personally, I hope he doesn't show up. Not him, or Silk. Mattie Franklin would be nice.
Very late twenties, early thirties that is. His prime 616 counterpart looked older than 616 Peter, actually.
how old are all the spider people? is silk in her 30s now?
They were both teenagers when they were bitten so she'd be around the same age as Pete.
Mattie would be in her mid to late twenties, Silk just as old as Peter, Anya would be similar to Mattie, Jessica and Julia and Charlotte Witter and whoever the heck else are all older than Peter, Cassandra suitably older than usual but I imagine, still alive somehow.
Wait, what would a Flash Thompson without Spider-Man be like?
Probably enlisted anyways after the umpteenth terrorist attack to hit New York in his lifetime.
but what about on the Maker's Earth of 1984 controlled opposition?
Yeah, I can see Flash continuing to be a bully and then enlisting but not out of sense of duty, but to keep a position of power.
>enlisting but not out of sense of duty, but to keep a position of power.
Naw, if he wanted a position of power, he go in as an Officer.
>ASM editorial does another Spider-Verse arc
>They bring in 6160 Parker
>They kill him off in it
Screencap this post
How else is mile's gonna shine?
how crazy would it be if they killed peter 616, replaced him with Miles, and then ultimate is the main peter book
Nah, way too much history and stories with 616 Peter to even do that. Not to mention Miles doesn't rank anywhere near Peter books. Also would be bad press and you don't want miles to have that baggage of replacing Peter in another medium. The Movies and Games have already been devicive enough
imagine if they made ben the green goblin
That sounds stupid which is exactly why I can see it happening.
would be dumb imo
What are the odds Peter's suit lets him transform into other costumes and that's what the cover tease was about?
Basically Kamen Rider Decade but with Spider-Man
That's what I'm thinking is gonna be the case
>Peter larps as four different Spider-Men to confuse people
lol oh shit, now that I think of it, the base form of whatever this black suit Peter has does look more like the Dusk suit
>One of the first storylines will be Identity Crisis
All I hope is that he gets a unique suit design of his own at some point. Doesn't even have to use it for long, I just think new costumes are neat.
I've been saying this. Spider-Man doing DMC style switching combos on villains.
Does Ben's suit grant him anything distinct from his "base" self?
Impact web
Ben seemed to be more web-gadgety. Stingers, impact webbing, etc.
Peter was a pugilist with utilitarian webbing, catching bullets and making stuff out of the webbing, and Kaine was a full on brawler. It'd be nice
>Kaine was a full on brawler
He could also talk to spiders
You're god damn right
God I miss those threads
lol yeah
Plus he weaponized his stickem powers, so it'd be a neat move to have. Kind of like the "SUFFER ME NOW" thing from the Shadow of War games.
>"SUFFER THE MARK OF KAINE"
and then a swarm of spiders comes to devour them, or some shit
Maybe the impression from the mark could just attract spiders for a period of time. That would be suitably annoying if not deadly while also providing some non-combat utility.
Yeah, that could work well. Kaine is an absolutely brutal fighter, so I imagine he'd faceplant someone into the ground and, rather than web them up, having the spiders come and terrorize them from head to toe works good for him. He doesn't mind hurting people.
Can anyone storytime it ? I missed it
look in the archive
God this makes me so happy
For the first time in forever Peter isn't being shit on
Lost hunt? Joe fixit?
I wonder if he's going to make webshooters, or if they came with the suit. I mean, I've always felt a stealth suit was a reasonable upgrade, Pete fighting in spandex alone has always seemed suicidal (and he's not exactly a street-level hero in recent depictions).
I like this setup, since it shakes up the formula: As a grown-ass man with money in the bank, Peter doesn't have to live in perpetual hobby. With Uncle Ben still alive, he isn't driven to fight crime as a kind of penance for original sin, and he can basically do it as his hobby.
Though I wonder if there's actually crime to fight, in this world. Isn't it incredibly advanced, due to the Maker?
...Do people even get mugged any more?
inb4 Tony kills Frank's family so he can become the Punisher
>Tony and Reed break into esteemed doctor Stephen Strange's house holding a hammer
Stephen Strange was apparently captured by the Maker.
Sadly, Strange is apparently under lockdown. Guess Incel Reed could not stop him from learning mojo and decided magic bullshit was too much of a pain in the ass to deal with.
How does Tony get Daredevil?
>Sends package to Matt
>Opens it
>Maces him in the face
>"You're probably wondering why I sprayed you with unstable chemicals..."
Is this Stark terrorist thing from some previous ultimate book? I'm unfamilar w the universe
Ultimate Invasion(4 issues) + Ultimate Universe ( a one shot). Invasion is first in order then ultimate universe one shot then usm 1
thanks anon
It's shown at the end of Ultimate Invasion, which set up this universe.
ty
Reminder to thank Donny Cates
If he never had that car accident, we wouldn't be here
thanks, truck that hit Donny Cates
it was a car accident? how bad ? also thank god its hickman and not cates bringing back ultimate
So organic or inorganic webbing?
Probably synthesized, handled by the suit
eh, I'd have liked to see a stronger focus on the "parkers". peter spends the entire issue mopping, I'd have preferred if he got his powers after a couple issues, just to flesh out the universe more
>peter spends the entire issue moping
he really doesn't though, at all
bc he tells Ben he wants more outta life?
from the beginning he seems distant and his dialogue amounts to "eh don't worry MJ". mind you I'm not shitting on it, I'm hyped for the story, it's just my 2 cents. hope the family aspect gets brought up more in the coming issues
I mean he had just received care package from a believed dead terrorist telling him, from the future, his entire life had been stolen from him by some unseen malevolent force, and that he was meant to have superpowers. I think anyone would be a little distant and shaken after that.
SPIDER-MAN EDITORIAL ON SUICIDE WATCH
I keep hearing shit like "My LCS sold out" or "People waited outside to get USM ASAP", did that happen around your's?
I meant to check mine today and pick it up after work but got sidetracked by errands. I'll be going by tomorrow to see if they still have any, but this is also a store that's busy enough to have just opened up a second, larger location in our fancy uptown area, so I wouldn't be surprised if they've been picked clean.
Imagine if USM becomes the new entry-level comic people return monthly for as long as it rides and maintains the hype
Imagine how Marvel could fricking ruin it
So how long until the inevtiable adaptation of this scene?
Fan-made or otherwise?
Any Early leaks that are probably fake for next week? All that? Anyone?
What if Goblin is a woman?
Sex.
It was fine? I don't get the hype. Was cool watching Ben and JJJ interact and be friends but Peter was sort of a side character in this first issue. I guess an issue like this looks like a masterpiece compared to these 20 shit years of Spider-Man comicbooks
Having Peter get to be a real adult and have his supporting cast back are things that have been missing from Spider-Man for quite some time
people like it to pawn spider-man editorial. nobody really considers it great, people just hate the current ASM
I haven't seen a fanbase recover this much since Metroid Dread
>Iron Man is part of Spider-Man's backstory
Love me some MCU synergy
He's a part of a bunch of new heroes's backstory if his little speech is any indication
this whole universe is setup as a universe where Reed ( from the original ultimate universe) went in and sniped at the creation of any powered metahuman , thus making the world unpowered as much as he could, he kills the stark elder before he forms shield and all, someone manages to diverge tony out of that and in order to discredit him they have a stark satelite drop bombs all over the world then blame it on tony.
tony and a few others manage to capture some of the materials that reed had took and are now sending them out as time bombs to reignite the super humans
I'm not complaining, anon
To be fair here the suit was also made by Tony in this universe and lord knows we've seen morons complain about that shit
This Peter probably never got deep into science after his parents died. Maybe he will slowly go into science, or maybe he'll stay a journo
I hope his interest awakens as he encounters strange things that need explanations in his vigilante life
I think we're meant to assume it's Peter like in 616 before he became Spider-Man including his interest in science. He probably just gave it up perhaps wanting to work with his uncle.
The other books showed this Peter had an interest in science and tech but wasn't necessarily a whiz at it like 616 Peter. This universe's Liz is implied to be more into it than him.
From the talk Liz gave him, it looks like Peter had dreams of being a scientist but gave this up. There’s the hint of him being special or lucky, but just like he never got bit by the spider he never pursued being a scientist. Until now, when he finally becomes special/lucky of his own choice. Just like how mj talked about him not being happy because he felt he could be more.
Pretty sure the suit is the Venom symbiote, and was stolen from the Maker's stash just like the spider.
I wonder if we could get a permanent good guy symbiote Spider-Man, since this Peter started off much more mature and experienced. He might not react as badly to the suit being alive and be able to reason with Venom.
Peter gay as frick for tying up Kraven like that.
Are Spider-Man threads gonna be fun again?
Were they ever fun, I legit can't remember?
USM threads, maybe
ASM threads will be your usual serving of misery and disdain
Well gwenschizo got btfo'd hard, so maybe this will lead to him getting a permaban
that won't make the comics any better
Considering all the ban evading during his little meltdown in yesterday's storytime thread I doubt a permaban will stick.
If anything that showed mods needing to do something
>Are Spider-Man threads gonna be fun again?
they always have been
stop lying you c**t
even with how shit ASM is its fun to shitpost about it with the chan bros. if you're reading ASM and not posting/lurking in the threads then you're torturing yourself for no gain
Iron Lad and Doom be like
?feature=shared
Can someone draw Otto as Iron Lad, Larry as Doom, and maybe Buck as either Cap or Thor?
Something that's interesting to think about is how much the original Ultimate influenced pretty much every single adaptation after it in some way, I think it's pretty clear already that this is gonna leave an impact but it's hard to tell what exactly that'll be this early
MCU Reboot lets be honest
That or a Spider-Man 2 (Insomniac) situation where they adapt the iconography but none of the the actual story or context behind said iconography
I think only a partial reboot meaning the characters that people do like like Spider-Man..... are gonna stay the same while the rest will get purged
I was gonna say I could see Sony doing a show loosely based on Ultimate Spider-Man 2024 but then I remembered Quesada works for Amazon now
*Checks when the next issue drops*
This is gonna be fun to watch
WATCH OUT MILES! SPIDER-BOY IS GONNA ACK-
It's fine, Miles Spider-sense is now a radar and he's physically stronger than Venom.
Threads like this really prove how bad taste people on Cinemaphile actually have
Who, the gullible Spider-gays or the guys that hate everything?
ToT
is literally anyone hyped for black panther or momoko xmen?
Yes because the way this universe is going, T'challa is going to be a benevolent dictator like Doom with Killmonger and Ororo as the voices of reason.
This issue was absolutely AMAZING!! Subscribed.
wait, it's only going to be 12 issues? Or is it just an initial run?
>wait, it's only going to be 12 issues?
the way marvel print subs work you order 12 issues in advance. if you want more you just renew once sub ends.
ah, gotcha. I'm yuropoor so I've no idea how it works over there
pic rel is the only cover my LCS had. its the worst one by far so i didnt buy it.
a good goyslop is still a goyslop
The issue itself was ok, nothing special but decent enough. Let's be honest, there are only a few fluke reasons people are interested:
>Hickman
>ASM Refugees
>It's called Ultimate
Not saying those are bad reasons just saying hype could die down real quick these reasons wont keep people around forever if the book isnt good. By the way anon which one describes you?
USM Bros
>#1 with a bajillion variants sells well
Selling well, yes. But when's the last time a comic totally sold out?
#1s sell out all the time
Not really, they sell well, but not entirely sell out
>Balls hurt gay 3 gay tourist spotted
off to Cinemaphile with ye
no
Better come up with a cope for #2 and #3 in advance, Cinemaphile's brony.
I wonder what it ll be
if #2 and #3 maintain the momentum then I'll be thrilled but freaking out that a hyped up #1 is selling is moronic
If the following issues maintain the hype I legit think USM will change comics as a fandom
The hype is fricking insane
I expected it to be huge but not this big
People are acting as if this single issue cured cancer
you know what they say, the higher you rise, the harder you fall.
let me peek into the future
>2025
>FRICK THAT HCKMAN homosexual
>I NEVER LIKED IT ANYWAY
Jesus fricking Christ wtf are you people smoking
Radioactive spider-cum.
Oh you're moving the goalpost now? What happened to it selling less than Spider-Boy
what the hell are you talking about
>been sick for a week
>still sick
Frick they better have this shit when I get better
who is he talking about here?
Kang had already attacked once before the attack we were shown

what about Marvel Action Spider-Man, Renee your vows and Life Story?
This place seems to have turned on Life Story lately, so you'll get shit for praising it. Or anything by Zdarsky really.
I been out of the loop, besides Miles getting forced in at the end the frick did Zdarsky now?
This won't save comics but it's just more proof that family man Spider-man with actual progression is what people actually want to read. But remember we got with the Renew Your Vows stuff. Marvel obviously didn't learn from that though with what happened to mainline Spider-man. There's also a hurdle people have to overcome with the confusing history of The Maker alone.
It's hickman he will frick it up. He will tease some cool shit, and then forget to deliver a proper landing, crashing everything with no survivors
I for one can't wait untill the jj and ben yaoi
Okay I just caught up. Is that shit supposed to be the symbiote(alien or ultimate suit) or some nanobot shit. I thought Peter David’s symbiote spiderman comics and JMD's Ben Reilly mini were good
the Tonygram says it's nanotech, or rather picotech
That's the 60s fly costume
I can't believe Ultimate Spider-Man saved Marvel, saved comics, saved capeshit, undid inflation, cured cancer, paid my morgage, stopped the war in Gaza, stopped the war in Ukraine, and is the greatest thing since sliced bread
>I can't believe Ultimate Spider-Man saved Marvel
2000 USM actually did
my copy just came in the mail bros !
My lcs looked like it had been picked over but they still had a few variants left. It was a difficult choice between Ben and my boy Miggy.
my LCS only had pic related which i think looks like shit so i just didnt buy a copy.
I really want a Ben one but my closest store is like an hour away
Kill me
ebay
Amazon 2
>no one here sells it
>have to pay $30+ for shipping either from the UK or US
good good, get fricked spider-gay
I don't know what a Hickman is and I don't care. I just like seeing Peter not being a miserable manchild.
Hickman is the one lulling you into a false sense of security.
Honestly bros I don't give two shits or a frick about other heroes in this universe or whoever's under the goblin mask. I just wanna see Peter being the lone man on the ground fighting a solitary war against The Maker's new world order.
20th Century Boys was a massive disappointment.
Is it just me or does the nickleback song fit really well for this spidey?
maryshittygays are really this desperate?
>threads keep reaching bump limit
>three threads at the same time
>number 1 in sales
Anon come on
>implying it means shit
>other than spider-gays being desperate
this would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad
>Buying a single comic issue instead of waiting for a collection
Dumb
