It’s Tom Cruise. It’ll make 1 billion minimum.
I mean the same thing could be said about Transformers and Indiana Jones.
Not really. Tom Cruise is probably the biggest A-lister alive and hasn’t produced a flop in who knows how long. Maverick was probably his most successful film in decades, and that was just last year.
Indiana Jones was a film no one was gagging for made by a studio that had a reputation for wrecking franchises with stupid decisions. Transformers had been losing audience for years. The Gross on Mission Impossible films has actually been going up with each film over the last 27 years.
Definitely not Indiana Jones after the crystal skull. And transformers movies have been trending downwards for a while.
Harrison Ford is israeli
Tom Cruise is the last action hero, the last star in the sky. Top Gun Maverick, a sequel to a film that came out 30 years prior, managed to fly across the 1 billion mark during memorial day weekend last year. Mission Impossible is a franchise known for having consistently good films that only get better the longer they go on. Nobody in my friend group knew that there was a new Indiana Jones movie coming out, but everyone knows about Mission Impossible. He appeals to the masses, it won't bomb.
No, not even close.
This. I went to see Top Gun 2 four times, three times in IMAX. I have high hopes for MI.
Going to watch it in Imax, you mad Nolan?
same
and I'll go watch Oppenheimer the next week
you mad Barbie trannies?
cruise will not lose.
however i think a certain pink and tweed pair
might want to shift their release to next year
Lol, wheres that picture of sweaty Christian Bale Ken?
idk, but I like that poster design
I might see it but I don't like the idea of having to wait a year for the second part. Fricking annoying. If it's released to on demand quickly I'll pay to watch it on that.
Just saw it its real good
That doesn't surprise me. Assuming you're not bullshitting how much of a cliffhanger is it left on?
Satisfying ending but a cliffhanger. The end reminded me of the first level of Uncharted 2 in the train
So it opens with a massive disaster as a framing device then works its way backwards to the halfway point of the story where it seems like all is almost lost?
My only concern is even after part two "Tom Cruise might not be done with Ethan Hunt". At some point you lose any dramatic intensity and turn into Marvel.
MI7 part 2 will end with Ethan sacrificing himself to save the world, and Cruise dying in the ultimate stunt
You were at the Sydney premiere? I just got home from that.
meant for
Where are they advertising it? I had to go look it up for the first time. But it's actually worth paying $20 to see based on the trailer.
Only commercials I ever see now is between quarters of the footy but I saw it playing during quarter and half time from some games this weekend just passed.
God damn, modern cinema is fricking dead.
It’s got less to do with the movies themselves than money being tight. Inflation is taking its toll and people are more careful of their spending. That means movie nights at home, cooking meals at home etc. unless it’s a must see theater experience people will just wait to stream it. Got to justify having that big screen tv in the LR
Who the frick abbreviates "living room?"
that entire reply reads like AI and the last word was changed to be hip and square
I feel like there is not nearly as much hype for MI7 as there as for Top Gun: Maverick. Using the 2.5 multiplier, it needs to make $725 million to break even. It might be doable, but I have my doubts.
That $290 million budget covers both part 1 and 2, right?
I would think so, Cruise isnt as stupid as Disney or Warner, he understands the economics of filmaking. If it is $150m for both then he's looking at $500million global for each film break even.
Part 1's budget is nearly 300 mil. Part 2 might cost more, unless Elon is footing the bill.
Part 1's budget was inflated due to covid shutdowns, it's likely Part 2 will cost less even if he goes to space
They shouldn’t have stuck the PART ONE thing onto this one. People who half care are just gonna wait until part two. They wisely didn’t pull that with DUNE.
As long as the movie is good, word of mouth will spread just like it did with Top Gun Maverick. If I remember correctly, Maverick did extremely well because of word of mouth.
>Cast talented and attractive people in the movie
>main star does his own stunts
>everyone knows Tom Cruise
>long running movie series that hasn't had many long breaks in between sequels
there's no way it will bomb
i hope it flops. iam tired of <generic movie> part 20. i want something new
you say that, but when something new comes out you don't watch that either.
you are probably right but iam still tired of that shit
So?.. I don't watch movies.
>le chad moron
Based
I hope not, if it does then Hollywood should start shitting themselves. If uncomplicated unwoke stories cant make money then what the frick are they going to do.
cruise is unironically the last guy alive with a star power. this shit is bulletproof to flopping
bros what happens when Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio retire? Who will be the A listers then? Hollywood has a huge issue with talent right now it feels like.
I'm 35 and all the top rated, top earning actors and actresses of my youth have not been replaced, many of them are still going long past the point where they ought to have retired. Jake Gyllenhaal and the Goose are arguably the last of their kind, and even as much as I like both of those guys and their talents, they're nowhere near the caliber of mega star the other guys I mentioned once were. Not to mention they're both already well into their 40s.
But hollywood doesn't even look for talent any more, just the right skin color or lgbt category.
it's going to be full of Stranger Things-tier mutts and trannies mixed in with twinks like Chalamet with a dash of nignogs, basically a israelites wet dream.
harvey weinstein was a israelite of the highest order but miramax were responsible for untold kinos. there has to be a middle ground
Phoebe Waller Bridge, Xotchi and some brown muslim girl. Get used to it chuds.
There won't be any, they'll attempt to force the likes of Timmy Charlemagne and Zendaya but they're charisma voids.
The new A-listers will be Youtubers, Twitch Streamers and Tik Tok-ers.
It's probably already happening, your average zoomer can pick Pewdiepie or Ninja out of a lineup before Brad Pitt.
How long until Disney cracks and hires Andrew Tate.
already a thing. kinda
Nope, definitely not.
Only film I'll go to IMAX theaters for this summer.
Oppenheimer can suck a bag of dicks.
>YOU CAN'T LOSE WITH CRUISE
>YOU CAN'T LOSE WITH CRUISE
>YOU CAN'T LOSE WITH CRUISE
Maybe people can't justify going to the cinema anymore, not when it will show up on streaming in a few months.
It will bomb. No one wants to see white males anymore. White women would rather see a cure and charismatic black man than a carbon copy white man who has been making the same brand of movies since the 90s.
Sorry but it's true.
>Nostalgia bait for DC and box office poison: the actor
>Nostalgia bait for toy collectors
>Nostalgia bait for boomers
Cruise meanwhile always does new shit in his films, and he'll kill himself to deliver authentic stunts.
The last MI made $800 million and Maverick was $1.5 billion. Cruise is golden
>290 million budget
>No Cavill
Over before it began
I hope it's a hit because the rumors are Cruise is trying to make Part 2 the first Hollywood film to shoot a dramatic scene in space (apparently the Russiand already did this)
you cant lose when your thetan is high level
It's tracking decently so it won't flop at the very least
The Cruise can't luise
