It’s hard to feel any attachment to the story and characters. Ezra is unimpressive as a flash and we only saw him for 10 minutes in a movie 6 years ago. No one cares about him. More people Attached to the CW version. No one cares about supergirl. There was no Superman and they couldn’t even bring in the most popular Batman. They had to rely on CGI Nic Cage and Reeves

This. My parents lswore off of watching this just because they enjoyed the 1st two seasons of the CW show and they couldn't stand seeing someone else in the role.

I liked it. Was kinda cool to see The Flash able to handle himself compared to in JL. He had to help his younger self and if they had developed him more in other movies it would have been cool. There are lots of problems but it wasn't enjoyable to me. I will get a lot of shit for liking it. It makes me wish Ezra was normal IRL because he is a decent actor.

It's not 'morally scandalizing', dumbass. It just became a funny meme spammed on twitter and some people think it's in bad taste considering the joke is obviously based on microwaving a baby and the actor has been doing a lot of fricked up shit for the last like 3 years. No one is actually outraged or whatever you're trying to pretend is going on to justify your own outrage.

                >And a "victim" coming to the defense of their abuser usually looks worse than if they say nothing

The Ezra situation is completely different. The parents were trying to put their capable competent adult daughter into a conservatorship to control where she lived, who she spent time with, etc.- all based on stuff they were told by other people. And said people weren't actually credible "witnesses" because they changed their story multiple times after getting into arguments. One of them was a literal stalker of Ezra's, who had been feeding false info to the Dad since like 2020.
It was basically the parents trying to use DARVO on their kid and project it on to Ezra. They were just friends helping one another out, and Ezra was only one of multiple people helping Tokata.
In order for that bullshit to be true, you'd have to essentially say an entire network of people was "grooming" Tokata just to move out into her own apartment, since Ezra and her are just friends who were in a band.

it's a weird fricking scene, clearly written by amoral, emotionless, childless, jaded LA freaks
It's not even that bad, but to frontload your movie with a weird scene of uncanny valley CGI babies and one of them is in a microwave and Ezra Miller is making a weird unnatural face and there's a woman screaming. It's not a scary nightmare per se, but it's certainly a nightmare and if you woke up from it you'd feel weird for the rest of that morning.
And you'd have to be some kind of fricked-up moron to think that's marketable, hence my earlier summation of whoever wrote it.

            >frontload your movie

In the beginning of the movie. The front. It's also like one of the many climaxes of that chaotic bullshit which already has a ton of bad humor.
But again, it's a weird nightmare scene and whoever thought it would play is moronic. You can't even argue that, you're just reflexively defensive and semantic because I guess you like this garbage because you have brown skin which means loving capeshit and especially DC movies is coded into your DNA.

I don't give a shit about it, like I said, it's not even that bad
But it's supremely off-putting, I didn't find it funny, or heroic, or whatever the intention was. You're obviously a brainless moron who eats it up regardless, but you need to understand how normal people think. They find shit like that weird, possibly even offensive, like some housewife sitting there with her kids, or some religious Mexican grandma. Try to think critically, with some perspective.
Who is that scene for? Who laughs at it? The babies look stupid, Ezra Miller's acting is completely atonal, why a microwave? A common story for like junkies is putting their babies in microwaves, it's a story you'll see in the news occasionally, that will be a lot of people's first thought. The woman screams irrationally the whole time, that's always off-putting regardless of context.
No one in marketing, or no intelligent marketer watched that scene. It's weird, nobody likes it.

The movie is a huge bomb, so yes. Someone should have thought of the marketing team, so that they could've put more Supergirl in this shit, maybe had her have a cool girl fight with Faora or something, shit like that because people generally like Mexican Supergirl and Faora is like one of the only things anyone remembers from MoS.

This is one of the most unappealing films I've ever seen, textually and metatextually. I can't even imagine what fricking wires are crossed in your brain motherfricker. It was AIDS on almost every level, the baby scene is just representative of the shitpile as a whole.

The marketing was entirely based on Michael Keaton return as Batman, which is something the previous management was investing in. So i think that they missed their shot on how much general audiences really care about Keaton as Batman.
Maybe if the marketing team had focused on the movie ties with Man of Steel and even some cameo with Henry Cavill the movie might have done better.

There's a lot they could have done, I think Thomas Wayne would've been the better choice, have Batman show up in the trailer, only he's got red eyes and if you look hard enough you can tell it's Jeffrey Dean Morgan, but the big pop would come from him pulling double guns on Flash or something. You'd also have the draw of MILF Joker played by what's her name from the Walking Dead, and the Snydercucks would love that shit because it's a huge nod to his casting.

It had good bones but was clearly a movie pulled in multiple directions by studio changes, on top of the utterly pajeet tier CGI and incredibly idiotic writing. Good performances by Keaton and Calle, Miller played Alt-Barry well, and the scenes with his mom landed. Everything else was just so off. The baby scene was fricking absurd. Barry's running still looks gayer than 8 guys sucking off 9 guys, it amazes me they have not been able to figure out a natural running animation after all this time. The whole thing comes off as some weird passive-aggressive attempt at tanking a DCEU film years after most people gave up on the DCEU.

Just watched it. The story is really dumb and of course I felt this movie was just DC trying to make their own No Way Home with this multiverse as an excuse to bring back famous actors and characters to try to cash in some easy money.

Nonetheless, seeing Keaton as Batman again was really cool. Nic Cage appears as Superman for a bit, and Clooney is back as Bruce Wayne at the end. Its fanservice after fanservice.

      Its a fun flick.

I fricking loved how moronic it looked. The initial scene with CGI babies falling out of the sky was simultaneously very well directed and perfectly established exactly how powerful and effective the Flash is as a hero while also looking so insanely moronic it transcended into surrealism for me. Maybe it was because I was high when I saw it but I was still more entertained than I should have been

Literally not a thing. DCEU always had more vibrant tones, contrast and saturation. Just watch Civil war for example, its like they forgot to color grade it and released the log flat footage.
There is a distinctive lack of colors and saturation in the whole MCU after the first Iron-man. DCEU might be darker and grittier, but always had vibrant colors.

Nvm I did it anyways. See its exactly as I said. Despise the dceu being grittier and darker, the colors are always more saturated and contrasted. All movies from the mcu are flat, low saturated, low contrast.
You can use the color picker on photoshop if you are too fricking blind. This is not up to debate.

Dude, Hawkeye purple costume in Civil War straight up looked grey.

You cherrypicking liar. That airport shots were deliberately greyed out for their stupid bad hero vs good hero boundary getting muddied narrative. Otherwise MCU sticks to its vertigo inducing colors again. Even the pic you posted proves my point, look at how muted snyder' s color palette is and desaturated it is outside the harsh lights.

        Hollywood accounting.

Like how a movie's "budget" is $250M, but the studio hires their own CGI studio and set design studio and bill themselves $50M each and use that as their tax write offs. Similar to how "LOTR trilogy made no money".

DC superhero movies have always flopped. Their plots and character development are weak and uninteresting. They hype the frick out of them like they did Batman vs Superman and Justice League and still no one wants to watch them.
Batman hasnt been successful since Nolan.
Id like for them to make more fricked up gritty movies things like Joker and Logan

I watched it. Flash 2 is ultra moronic and there is an innate pedo creepiness oozing from Erza that you cant disassociate really. Specially every time you see him naked, you know the guy pushed for that scene.
That being said is not even a really bad movie. Better than shit like BoP, Shazam 2, Black Adam, The suicide squad and the average marvel goyslop of phase 4-5.
I hope it crashes and burns, but seriously its just mediocre. I wanted it to be bad.

How does flash time travel work, can he go back to his 18 year old self over and over to give advice for the prefect life/outcome?
    What’s the limiting factor here?

In this movie, yes actually can. BUT if he changes the future too much, he also changes the past too much.
Changing stuff like her mother dying, changed stuff that happened decades before too. And that set that new world into a locked path against an undefeatable Zod.
So yes, he can, but he cant do big changes, or else the time changes backwards and forwards.

It's one thing to hate somebody, it's another to act morally outraged like he committed some atrocity and got away with it, it speaks to media brainwashing and being unable to separate fact from hyperbole. Ezra would unironically not be a topic anymore if people just got over it, but he lives in Hawaii and Twitter's head rent-free.

Agreed. I miss the days where everyone here was more collected and constructive and cared about the fundamental, real problems surrounding these movies. Now the board is full of nitpicking zoomers who watch Moist Shittikal and YMS and think they're now film critics, and of people who are dull enough to blindly believe in smear campaigns. Sometime after the Depp-Heard trial is where this began, I think. At least in terms of the commentary on Cinemaphile surrounding these films started to shift.

It's a good experience. The humor is le reddit quips. Batman was great. SuperChica is a cute! Flash 2 was funny. Good cameos.
It came out in a time when people are bored with superheroes and the alternate timelines is played out. Spiderman is also about multiverse.
