Yeah it’s fricking moronic. They shouldn’t have used three big name monsters in one single movie. A fricking twink underworld monkey is a laughable threat to Godzilla.
>They shouldn’t have used three big name monsters in one single movie.
to be fair, only girls like the moth (mothras design is not nearly as good as the Toho one too) and rodan is boring, real pterodactyls are cooler and more interesting than that bastard. they could just do Mecha King Ghidorah and it would be better than all of these kaiju and of course better than an orangutan
>They shouldn’t have used three big name monsters in one single movie.
Rodan and Mothra being in GKOTM was fine, the problem was that GvsK got rid of all the other Titans instead of delivering on the "The age of man and monsters living together in harmony" promised to us at the end of GKOTM.
Godzilla's story was put on hold to make way for the monkey shit. Now it's still on partial hold because Wingard prefers the monkey but we'll get slightly more out of Godzilla than not at all like the last time and probably Mothra as well.
I don’t know if Legendary doesn’t want to pony up for the Toho characters or what, but they seem to be intent on making their own generic monsters. The Scar King (Lanky Kong looking motherfricker) apparently either controls or wakes up some kind of big ice dragon thing. I saw a picture of it, and my thought was just “Yup, that sure looks like something you’d fight in Monster Hunter”.
Their entire plan is to have a US owned kaiju franchise. They tried and failed with Pacific Rim. The second attempt is to use Godzilla to legitimize their hollow earth bullshit monsterverse. It's not working out too well because they can't make a good movie to save their lives.
I highly doubt Lanky Kong will be the sole villain in GxK. I'm very skeptical of the SpaceGodzilla rumors, but it would explain the crystals in the trailer and Godzilla's new design.
Everyone is a screen-test audience. I had never once head of a screen test viewer IRL or on regular social media until I started wasting my time on Cinemaphile.
Yeah but that was a sort of unique case where we only had two "heroes" shown in the trailers. We all knew any Vs movie was going to end up with a team-up against a big bad so obviously there was a twist enemy they were hiding.
Hopefully there's still some sort of twist here, but it feels like they're really trying to build up this scar king. I think a second enemy is still possible, if not likely, but I doubt it'll be something big enough to completely overshadow the villain they're already marketing.
I think so too because he's the one who couldn't shut up about his Kong. Of course there's still hope Godzilla will have some importance in the movie. But if he's just a prop that could be removed I think Wingard deserves to be punished for it.

Wingard gave Godzilla a resounding victory, anthropomorphized him back to his villainous Showa roots, and made Konggays everywhere seethe.
So will he matter in the new movie? I see a lot of people are indifferent because ever since GVK they don't expect Godzilla to be a character that he was in the earlier movies and still is in the comics. So will he have a story despite limited screentime?
Goji and Anguirus are such xenophobes. How does it affect you personally if some alien immigrants want to immigrate to your country and set up shop? Typical Japanese racism.
>Hedorah >Biollante >Destroyah >Space Godzilla
probably the best few that will translate to the more serious tone, can't imagine Gigan not seeming like a joke
I think it'd be pretty easy to make a cybernetically enhanced alien Kaiju menacing. The issue is that if every Monsterverse movie is a team-up of Goji and Kong then every movie needs either two kaiju or one huge one who can threaten both. None of the Toho kaiju fit the latter bill.
As much as people like to poke fun at the space chicken, I think his popularity has proven that there's legitimate love and I don't think it's all that hard to translate him into an acceptably "serious" design. Even Final Wars more or less accomplished that, albeit in a bit more campy cool manner. Like the other anon said, you can also play up the cyborg angle depending on the plot too. Either way, I think Gigan/Megalon could be an interesting foil to a newly formed and uneasy alliance between Kong and Godzilla.
I said it before and I'll say it again, it should have been standalone Goji movie vs Destoroyah as the end of the monsterverse after GvK. Hell, I'd even be fine with them killing off Goji in his final movie and continuing the monsterverse with Kong as the new alpha, it would spare the character of Godzilla from all this monkey slop. But now they've already fricked everything and I really hope GxK is going to be the last Legendary Goji movie.
I worship the King. Render unto Ghidorah what is Ghidorah's.

They also can't make good monsters

It’s just a rumor. ask the screen test audience

The "first Titan" that has ice powers is another villain.
>no Biollante
To be fair we dont know that.
Remember mechagodzilla?
>Remember mechagodzilla?
I'd like not to.

Mechagodzilla.
>Big busty, thick SpaceGodzilla
>Voiced by a black woman
>Lusts after Godzilla and Kong
Who do we blame for diminishing Godzilla's importance?
Adam Wingard.

Black person goodboy monkey and his trans lizard sidekick defeat the evil white red-headed racist monkey. Roll credits.
The Chinese buying Legendary in 2016.
That's a tough one. Maybe it was just unavoidable after the Internet came to be
would love to see gigan return

I have monke fatigue
You also forgot Destoroyah. But really anything is better than apes after we just had a movie featuring the introduction of an ape.
nah he should be the final boss
They already wasted Burning Godzilla thoughever.
mecha godzilla was a great followup but now they're losing mad momentum by using some lame OC. Should've done something hollow earth sure
