The reason they won't release it is because the original, unaltered version of the film looks like exactly what it is: a 70s sci-fi movie.
If they release it they risk it being a sort of wake-up call to fans.
>wait... Star Wars is just... an old movie?
I like old movies, just let me watch it you gay israelites.
You first, shlomo
I know about the fan projects, but the issue is that film reels used in theaters are of objectively inferior quality than the original negatives. Disney has them and fans don't.
>BUT LE DESPECIALIZED
Not even the original version, just some autist making a special edition that looks like the original version while frankensteining 10 cuts and adding digital effects to it, I'd rather watch an old laserdisc or VHS copy than that shit.
nah despecialized is good u fricking chudface
Efforts by TN1 made it obsolete in the modern day
If I can watch it and tell exactly where it has been tampered with and re-tampered with to approximate being UNtampered with, it's not good. The despecialized Sarlacc is worse than the cgi beak. It isn't the pre-specialized version, it merely resembles it.
>Disney has them
the joke is disney doesn't have them. george destroyed the original negatives during the special-edition process. because he wanted the special editions to be the new original versions.
what did he mean by this
he must've gotten MK-ULTRA'd in 1984 or something. before and after he's a completely different person.
>the mistake almost every science fiction film makes is [...] showing off the amount of work they generated and it slows the pace of the film
>goes on to make the prequels, nothing but special effects with the thinest justification possible of being on screen
And anyway you essentially already have what you want in the various fan projects that have already been put out.
Don't expect anything put out officially by Disney to be any better.
Lucas had in his contract that Disney is never going to release unaltered versions of the trilogy
You cannot provide a source to back that up, because there isn't one.
Maclunkey
Rogue One was kino, the frick you talking about?
>anything disney
>good
please go back
Yes, Rogue One is the only good movie in the series you gay pleb
You have god awful taste and should be ashamed of yourself.
You spelled Solo wrong.
>>"Well that was even worse than the last movie.
stopped reading, kys prequelgay
Never
>still watches this dead franchise
Not gonna happen bro. Just have a nice day
It's literally in the contract George signed that Disney can not release them.
Just because that's what you heard, doesn't mean it's true. Nobody has ever posted proof of this and never will, because it is Mike Zeroh/Doomwiener-tier larpy horseshit.
specialized > original
i’m sorry (not really) but those practical effects were shit.
Just because you hate cinema does not mean everyone else does and everyone else needs to conform to your moronic opinions and views
I sure love dogshit 90s CGI.
People who like the cgi OT are trolling, right? Or are they just ignoring shit like the cgi alien song dance scene. Man what the frick
>terrible 90s cgi alien singing boo ling waka ching ching waa waa
