the fat journalist was leftie "fight the man" investigative reporter whose work focused solely on the socially taboo inclinations of the elite
therefore, max having a secret collection of uncle Adolf's memorabilia and being fascinated by his "artistic" enterprise, does not come out of left field as the episode had already established those previous red flags

I think you have to be a big fan of his style to enjoy this one. It's literally slop. Very forgettable and not particularly creative compared to his older kinos.
I say that as one of those fans, who even enjoyed his Arthur movie, this series was lacking.
