It's not even bad >Thai relatives come visit >They're full Thai >Gets jealous that them and her mom are all bonding over Thai related things Molly has never experienced >Tries to experience them and fails >Everyone comes together in the end to tell her it doesn't matter if you're full Thai as long as you appreciate your heritage
I liked that ending. It was a little weird that all the other McGee's were on point with their Thai-ness until they reveal that they were even more insecure about it than Molly and spent months preparing while optimistic Molly was just assumed the best.

Yeah well that's what Leah gets for choosing Chad for his looks which are already aging poorly since he looks worse in the episode than from Lib's memory of him.
Based on what she said, she probably fell for a mix of looks, musical flip flam (young women and guitarists) and a heaping load of lies on top of a foundation of bullshit.
I have never hated a cartoon character more than Drew/Angelica/Cheryll Pickles, but this is close. Disney actually went out of there way to show a bad person, which is way out of the ball park.
Based on what Libby said, he cannonical age, etc. her father probably didn't even bother to see her first day of kindergarten. And now, I appreciate Leah even more.
it's called "Anti-Male Agenda", Anon. it's when the government and big corporations go out of their way to make males and masculinity look bad. you need to remember, this is a product, and the end goal is hatred and malice.
Deadbeat dads are real, it would only be an agenda if every dad in this series was a deadbeat, which they aren't.

I can't think of the last time a main character in an American kids' show had an actual deadbeat dad. The few times you see one they're usually the dads of minor one-shot characters.
Rick
Finn's dad
Clarence's dad
KO's dad and Raven's dad in TTG who also double as villains
Gumball's dad depending on your definition of deadbeat, and Gumball's dad's dad who's a textbook example
Arlo is all about finding the protagonist's deadbeat dad
Haven't seen a single ep of season 2 yet, but Libby's dad being a deadbeat or tard in some way was super expected.
I mean, we gotta keep the narrative. Girl power and all that.
Would have been an absolute twist if Leah was at fault for Libby not having a normal family. Just saying.
Nah
He doesn't really care about Libby or her mother

What's the relationship between Libby's mom and dad? They're separated, but they're not divorced, but her mom doesn't really have a high opinion on him, and her dad seems so focused on his career to do anything with his family. but Libby still has the last name of both her parents. Like, what is this?
We don't know if they're divorced or not. Leah maiden name, Stein, was augmented to Stein-Torres, but there's no legal requirement to revert back to a pre-marriage name.
Leah apparently is doing the responsible thing by not bad mouthing Matias and not fostering resentment. It's pretty clear he's a complete narcissist who just willfully abandoned both Libby and Leah for at least 6 years. She probably hates his guts, but isn't going to waste time on thinking about him.
Yeah, that sounds about right. Seems like she's divorced him and hates him but makes it a point to not make it Libby's problem and kept her dislike of the guy to herself to spare Libby from it.
I honestly don't get the impression they're divorced, but maybe the show just couldn't put it blatantly. I wouldn't think Leah would just lie to Libby and say they're still together. Seemed to me the dad would be welcomed back in if he got his shit together and stop putting his book over his family.
My thoughts on the episodes, gonna have to be brutally honest here Mollysisters...
>Like Father Like Libby
Not a bad episode. We got tons of cute Leah/Libby moments. But it was predictable from a mile away and it still was underwhelming, I think Bob Motz and Bill Roth hyped this one up a little too much.
The problem was.. Libby's dad's a jerk for not being there for his daughter, but we are never given the full picture. In fact, its sort of confusing, is he actually an author or was the whole thing a grift? He is a bad father but not necessarily a bad person to Libby and seems to care for her somewhat, so it makes it hard to hate him completely. Libby sort of set an expectation for a thing that wasn't likely and that's fine.
Of course I havent seen my dad in like two decades, but I can forgive him. Being dead sucks.
>Dance Dad Revolution
I thought HOI was the environmental show... why is there so much RECYCLING in TGAMM this season? Pete wearing that flamboyant ice skating costume for most the episode was unfitting and ridiculous. Below average episode, though it was cute to see Andrea be nice and respectful to Mr. McGee and Molly!
>Shark
So... Scratch can just create ghosts? Seems like a neat concept but like the whole Chairman thing its subject to Fairly Oddparents "Da Rules" type situational nonsense. Also, the shark PSA at the end was... weird? Was it sincere or not
>Nin
Kind of saw where this was going. It was to set up Grandma Nin being a more physical presence around the town instead of a face on a phone in most episodes. She's an alright character. I wish we got a little more of her and Sharon's backstory that isn't just superficial hinting at shit (the restaurant or her art, also, wtf ever happened to her painting?) and I liked the scene where Sharon is flailing her arms in panic looking for her mom. Otherwise, pretty forgettable episode.
4/10 batch, saved by the Libby cuteness and Molly having some "crazy" moments.
It's still Didney. They're going to soften it a little. I'm still hoping on the big turn around when Grandma Nin gets altzheimers and Molly has to Ol' Yeller granny.
In the very end of the episode, Libby outright says, "Molly lost the turtles and found them again at the last minute." She's a cartoon, but the writers have given her the power of not being a cartoonish dumbass. She knows her dad is a scumbag. Maybe she hoped it wasn't true, but there's no way she wasn't mentally prepared after 6 years... to write a single jerk off book no one is going to buy.
Reminds me of that letter Greg from Diary of a Wimpy Kid from his favourite author even though it was just an Ad for the next book in the series, also does anyone think Libby's Dad also does this to his fans?
>Pete wearing that flamboyant ice skating costume
recycling outfits fits the message of the episode I guess. seems to me we won't be seeing new outfits for anyone other than Molly for the rest of this season
Yeah, Libby's dad should've had a longer presence in the episode. Maybe show Libby trying to hang out with him, but he's not interested, but forces himself to go along with it before finally deciding to say "nah" or something. I don't know. Her dad's appearance was too brief and he came off as too one-dimensional like a strawman or something. I would think they would give Libby's father better nuance since Libby is a recurring character in the series.
If Leah was actually supportive of her man and helped with his dreams, maybe poor Libby wouldn't be put in this situation. Has anyone ever thought of that. But we know all Leah cares about is being poor.
Leahbros.... everyone in the fricking episode knew what was going to happen besides Libby. Why did she let her daughter just gas herself? In a way, she was setting her daughter up for disappointment, and thrust her ex into an awkward position of having to gently let his daughter down. I thought we could trust Leah, she would never try to be backstabbing or subversive while playing the victim that is not in her people's nature!
It looks like Leah really didn't realize that Libby would care so much about seeing her dad again. Which seems like a weird thought for her to have. Maybe she just wrote him off in her head and thought that Libby did the same.
>Libby's dad's a jerk
Imagine how Libby feels knowing that her father only wanted to see her for a few minutes, after a long car trip.
It felt like there was literally no point to the dad even being there... shit, maybe him not showing up after the entire afternoon, only for his editor to show up with the signed copy at sunset would have felt as a better pay of. At least we would have gotten a real understanding of the kind of dad he is.
Here... it was nothing. What was the point of meeting Libby in the first place? Even a dumb photo together just for social media publicity would have given some purpose to the thing.
>Even a dumb photo together just for social media publicity would have given some purpose to the thing.
I think you can infer that, in the situation. I'm more loss at the book Libby wrote. I'm assuming she didn't make copies and the dad just going to throw in in a drawer.
Kinda rehashing Andrea's dad with the photo as well.
>Libby's dad's a jerk for not being there for his daughter, but we are never given the full picture
I think they gave us enough of a picture. He's the type of guy who puts his career first and family second. He likes his kid but he's not willing to sacrifice anything from his life for her sake. And that is something adults with children have to discuss, that you need to sacrifice your dreams, hopes and happiness for the sake of your children. There's probably a neat balance between chasing your dreams and being a good father, but it's hard to find and this dude just didn't bother.
I like that they didn't make him this cartoon villain and was just a regular selfish dude, that was neat. Predictable, but better than what most sitcoms do with this type of plot.
There are 3 types of absent dad imo >deadbeat: goes to buy milk, never returns (also includes dads in prison, dads that come and go when they need money, and I guess also by technicality dads that die by their own irresponsibility like overdosing, suicide or so) >wager: works himself to death just to keep family afloat, as a result is never home and has a hard time connecting with you but he still tries to take you to the beach or the zoo when he can, might die early due to stress/heart condition and you never really knew much about him (most dads) >dream chaser: doesn't technically go to buy milk, you might know where he is and what he's doing, he might be a book writer, an artist,a rockstar, etc., the point is that he chose chasing dreams over family, the type that doesn't realise how missing your son's growth is a bad thing until it's way too late (bonus points if he starts a new family when he's in his mid 40s and gives the love he never gave you to the new baby)
I think from what little was shown about him, you can infer enough about what his deal is. He doesn't seem to be a bad person, but he's still not there for libby and ultimately you're what you do, not what you intend or say or want.
Episode still felt somewhat rushed though, wish they could have cut or at least greatly reduced the turtle B-plot, I'd rather they just give me an eisode all about libby's family life with no sign from molly, just for once.
I know it was a minor one but the whole B-plot in the Libby episode felt completely unnecessary and I don't really understand why they felt the need to go in that direction considering they've had plenty of episodes that don't strictly follow that formula.
I really liked Libby's song though, like extremely so. And anytime Leah calls Libby her "little miracle" it always warms my heart so overall I think this episode was fine.
Imagine if it had been 2 episodes where the first one was Molly / turtle shenanigans and the second one following Libby with them sharing only the phone call and the ending
If Leah was actually supportive of her man and helped with his dreams, maybe poor Libby wouldn't be put in this situation. Has anyone ever thought of that. But we know all Leah cares about is being poor.
Booty and Bajablast writing this show with its character design/voice work/animation/overall energy is like watching Harry and Lloyd step into the wienerpit of an F-22. Their shitty recycled plots sent this whole thing right into the mountainside.
The Nin episode was a literal repeat of the Sharon painting episode, save for a different character being imprisoned by the family for a different reason.
>The Nin episode was a literal repeat of the Sharon painting episode, save for a different character being imprisoned by the family for a different reason.
I mean both had the families being over protective but for completely different reasons. In the paint episode Sharon is 100% at fault, while in the grandma nin one they're both at fault. Completely different subjects too, what are you on about?
>Character does a thing (Paint/Not Fall) >Other Characters become uncharacteristically desperate to ensure that character does a thing. >Character is actually fine not doing a thing. >Character attempts to get away from Other Characters, who are (for some reason) entirely oblivious to the Character's distress/discomfort with being coddled. >"Climax" is the character just saying they don't want to be coddled. >Character makes progress with whatever it is they were trying to do in the first place.
Most of these story beats are just general story beats in any media, you might as well say every spongebob or simpson episode (even the classic ones) are the same.
Context drastically changes both episodes. In the Art episode, it was Sharon struggling with being creative and having doubt with herself, and that clashed with her family’s overwhelming support of something she doubts. Nin doesn’t have a passion that the family supports, it’s the opposite. They want her to NOT do what she wants due to being afraid she’ll get hurt, and prevent her from doing what she wants. And as I said, Sharon was in the wrong on her episode, while the Nin one shows both parties had a point.
You have to stretch to say they’re the same.

Isn't that their purpose?
Libby's time will come. When her dad is an old poor crippled failure of a writer who needs elderly care and she, one of the most succesful present day kid's book writer, can send him off to a retirement place to die in insignificance.
Libby: I devote that book to my late father. Thank you, dad... you taught me everything I need to be, to be a better parent than you ever were.
What if the book comes back. Dad gives it to the publisher, he loves it but has some notes. Dad tells the daughter, they pick up the new version it's almost nothing like her original book. Dad too caught up in the rush didn't realize says he is sorry to Libby.
>the man who stuffed the hottest milf on that show
Considering there seems to be no reason for him to be a deadbeat, i.e. he could be tapping that on a daily basis, does he deserve such tagline?
Season 2 has certified that Scratch is the best part of the whole show. Back in season 1 I loved Libby and Molly, but now I've realized the best humor and character moments are all about Scratch. He's a fantastic animated comedic character and way more memorable than most 2020s cartoon characters so far.
someone just said it in the /trash/ thread and I agree completely... Molly has become something of a political mouthpiece. she isn't quite at a Lisa Simpson level yet and there is still some humor to it, but its starting to wear on me as a viewer, a lot of these episodes are because Molly literally cant let other people have nice things
Scratch is actually god tier now, he can create ghost creatures on a whim that can do anything he tells them to do. He can beat every DTVA protagonist combined.
I really enjoy the characters and energetic vibe this show has, but my biggest problem is the shenanigans they get up to aren't as great as the characters that star in them. They have done a pretty good job at making me care about all the recurring cast, but I rarely feel they live up to their potential. I feel the same with Moon Girl, they just don't go hard enough in comedy or emotion to really stand out.
I enjoyed the Libby dad episode, but I would have probably loved it if we just focused on them instead of Molly going full schizo. Maybe it would have been to depressing, but so what? You can have one sad episode after 2 seasons
But then in Bighton he'd also have to get a job to support his family's life expences, and take time off his writing to be with his daughter. He doesn't want any of that, he's the type of dude who wants to fly free with no restrictions.
He needs to be a recurring character with that. Maybe after enough failures he actually decides to spend time with his family, but still brags to people that he's a writer.

Cringe and Based at the same time.
Also don't throw Daryl of a cliff because he's a disappointment, do it because the world would be a better place without one piece of shit like him less.
Should have been a Libby exclusive episode. I assume Disney didn't want an episode where the main character isn't involved, I remember Craig Mcracken struggling with that back in wander over yonder.
I guess Leah wanted Libby to know her dad is a piece of shit, I was just surprised she didn't do what most seperated parents do and insist on the deadbeat spending time with his daughter.
The dancing pete episode was sad in a way. I didn't think tiktok was actually that big, that the attention span of the public really could only be maintained through 10s long dancing shorts. Will this kind of episode be dated in 5 or more years?

Can Reform israelites get divorces without much fuss? Catholics technically can't divorce but Leah's loser husband could get an annulment since they failed to uphold the requirement for a mixed marriage to raise any kids Catholic.
Probably didn't want to lead Libby on about what kind of person her dad is like. If Leah went out of the car and prodding him into doing something with Libby then he'd still be idolized by Libby and it'd probably hurt more when she expects he's coming home only to have all the writer excuses come out.
Additionally divorced or not there's no way that Libby's dad ISN'T working hard to pay child support for his daughter even if it's probably mostly driven out of ego.
Can Reform israelites get divorces without much fuss? Catholics technically can't divorce but Leah's loser husband could get an annulment since they failed to uphold the requirement for a mixed marriage to raise any kids Catholic.
The impression I got was that Leah and Matias were never even married. Libby was the result of a fling in college and since there was no formal commitment he just didn't bother sticking around.
Giving my own two cents on the Libby episode, feedback being welcomed.
When I heard they made an episode with the title "Like Father, like Libby" I honest to god expected from the get go a deadbeat dad episode, cause what sort of "normal" dad would not even bother to show up at his daughters Bar Mizwa, even when being divorced. Likely a dad not conceptuionalized by the point the episode was writen, but you get my point.
So the enxt thing I was wondering was, how "hard" would they get at showing him being a deadbeat? While I joked e.g. about this being their "Will Smith" moment in reference to that famous Fresh Prince episode, I did e.g. never expect it to go that hard. Primarily because a) Molly McGee is a 10 minute episode format in general and b) not the kind of cartoon to focus on that tone overall or even in special episodes.
At least I think it would have been the biggest mood whiplash in the history of the show, if the episode ended with Libby crying her eyes out, only to cut to "The Ghost and Molly McGee" being sung.
now with all that said, what did I think of the episode?
Frankly, I admit that the Molly B-plot felt kinda pointless. It just took away from the rest and with Molly not really being involved in the emotional resolution of the episode, she felt extremely tacked on. That said, if the episode had been longer and Molly just stuck to the stuff she already got, I think it would have been okay. I also think that the last shot of her and Libby with Libby getting the turtles back, was pretty much like what the episode needed to end up on a more cheerful note, to make the transition to the credit not THAT jarring.
Now to Libby... I think it was certainly different than what I expected or have seen with deadbeat dads in other shows, but I did not hate it.
Most "deadbeat parent" episodes I have seen follow a certai formula, where the kid in question meets their parent and they spend some time together (1/2)
...only for the parent to abandon them again, in doing so hitting the kid harder than before. As seen again e.g. in the Fresh Prince episode, where Lou at least spend a few days with Will and in doing so got his hopes up high, before crashing them harder than ever.
this episode didn't do it quite that way however, focusing instead on Libby's "expectations" of meeting her dad again. And in doing so actually painting quite a sad "subtle" picture of Libby if you look at it.
See, Libby in my opinion is normally a more "grounded" or realistic perosn, compared e.g. to hyper optimistic Molly. At least she knows her shortcomings and has a certain snark to a situation. But here, none of that was shown. the moment she reads that the letter is from her dad, that part of her self is thrown out of the window and she becomes that hyperfocused girl who just wants to meet her daddy and thinks of all the fun things she and him will do after he had been away from her for almost half her life. If anything, Leah becomes in that situation the "realistic" one, trying to calmm her daughter down. Not outright trying to tell her that her dad is bad, but knowing that Libby should be more grounded and ready from the start to be there for her kid, when the guy will unavoidably hurt her in some manner. Without Leah outright speaking out her opinion, she already paints a none so flattering image of her husband, not out of malice, but experience.
Meanwhile Libby... well, she doesn't just believe her dad will do some fun activities with her. She believes she, him and her mom will be a "proper family" again, as evident by her imaginary song with the three walking out in the sunset or imagining that her mom will fall for him again at the baseball thing, hinting that Libby does know how her mom truly things of the guy.
I think the two lines in the episode by Libby that tell the most about her true feelings are as followed: Her asking mom if his hugs feel like love (2/3)
because that paints imo the picture, that her dad didn't even bother hugging her much as a child, depraving her of paternal affection. And the other one being in the song, when she sings about how her and her dad were apart for so long and that she was scared he didn't care for her.
Becuase the later shows to me that deep down she knew already for a long time, that he had abandoned her, only for that letter to reinstall hope in her.
Which as such makes when they meet and it is obvious he is more interested in talking a bit about his book and barely about her, already makes her realize, something is up, as evident by her reaction to the shallow signature in his book, that btw. has already a title so mediocre and unoriginal, you can imagine he is a hack as a writer as much as a dad. The later proven, when he openly explains his reasoning why he can't go back to her yet, crushing her childish expectations and hopes instantly, by being literally too lazy to even spend an afternoon proper with her. Which somehow manages to make him an even worse parental figure than Lou in Fresh Prince, the later at least pretending and feeling a bit guilty. not so much that guy.
That said, I think the "aftermath" of that revelation is the actual weaker part of the entire thing. Like, I am okay with Libby not sobbing her eyes out, her head hanging low, her silent behavior and the few tears we see actually conveying the point well enough without her screaming her anger and sadness out. It also helps that Leah tries immediately to reassure her that she does matter and I think the fact that Libby can try to find the good in the fact her mom at least cares for her admirable.
that said, going from "getting your heart broken" to "making a dumb gummy worm joke" to feel better, does feel jarring.
Like, at least a bit more dramatic weight couldhave been put on it. Like e.g. Leah and Libby drive away the moment she enters the car and it is only during the drive they start to talk
and Leah manages to make her feel better, Libby still being downtrotten but coming to term over at least a few hours of driving, instead of one minute after her dad broke her little heart.
But to do that, the pacing would have needed to be different. Perhaps make it a logner episode, or if necessary for the ten minute format, cut Molly and Scratch out.
anyway, I don't hate the episode, butI don't consider it the best of the show either. It certainly is a good Libby focused one, but they could ahve done thngs to make it truly great.
7.5/10 i would say.
As for people complaining about Libby's dad being a deadbeat and that this is somehow propaganda against males being bad role models... christ almighty, I hope you guys never stumble upon Gendo Ikari or the guy who raised Guts in Berserk. You would have a heart attack
I wish there was a cartoon episode where they explored they negative consequences of not having a paternal figure around. Not just one that ends with (you) will always have your Mon, family etc. But one where it made you realize how necessary a father is and at how much disadvantage you are with out one
Look, all I'm saying is that, this would all have been avoided had Leah hooked up with a nice israeli man instead of racemixing with cattl-... I mean, (ar)gentiles. The producers of this show are very wise for teaching this to the young girls of the tribe.

Why is she a child of divorce Libby bros?
Because her mother has an affair with us
>explores her biracial identity
So does she do anything to get in touch with her Mcgee heritage or is it just more Thai culture fellation.
It's not even bad
>Thai relatives come visit
>They're full Thai
>Gets jealous that them and her mom are all bonding over Thai related things Molly has never experienced
>Tries to experience them and fails
>Everyone comes together in the end to tell her it doesn't matter if you're full Thai as long as you appreciate your heritage
Literally white genocide
I liked that ending. It was a little weird that all the other McGee's were on point with their Thai-ness until they reveal that they were even more insecure about it than Molly and spent months preparing while optimistic Molly was just assumed the best.

He doesn't care about Libby so that makes him our anti-guy

>Cinemaphile resident israelite
it's called "Anti-Male Agenda", Anon. it's when the government and big corporations go out of their way to make males and masculinity look bad. you need to remember, this is a product, and the end goal is hatred and malice.
Deadbeat dads are real, it would only be an agenda if every dad in this series was a deadbeat, which they aren't.
just keep telling yourself that. I guess ignorance is bless for people like you. ... for now. ... but this bless won't last. you will eventually suffer with the rest of western nations. it's only a matter of time.
I found the redditor, guys
reddit gays vs Cinemaphile gays.
there is no difference. both of you suck
I'm masculine and I hate Libby's dad because he reminds me of my own weak-ass soiboi-looking dad.
Masculinity is not a bad thing, machismo mixed with a ridiculous ego and pride is.
What about when you feel your Masculinity give you a right to walk over people and treat them like shit?
That's never happened.
you arent describing masculinity.
you are describing machismo.
you clearly don't know what Masculinity is. or maybe you're so goddamn terrible that when someone stood-up to you, you ended up calling it toxic masculinity.
sigh. listen smart guy, this is a PRODUCT! you are watching what Disney want you to see, and Disney want you to see men as awful. do you get it now?
> Disney want you to see men as awful
Explain Ron Stoppable them
>Also support the writer's strike, guys!
what?
is that said in the episode?
No it's just that Bill and Bob have spent the last two months acting in support of the writer's strike and going on marches with them and shit
Why the frick hasnt the strike ended yet
Because apparently the AMPTP is full of idiots.
I can't think of the last time a main character in an American kids' show had an actual deadbeat dad. The few times you see one they're usually the dads of minor one-shot characters.
Gravity Falls
Yeah, that's the only one that comes to mind, but that was years ago.
Rick
Finn's dad
Clarence's dad
KO's dad and Raven's dad in TTG who also double as villains
Gumball's dad depending on your definition of deadbeat, and Gumball's dad's dad who's a textbook example
Arlo is all about finding the protagonist's deadbeat dad
>Raven's dad in TTG who also double as villains
Nice to see that in being a dad Teen Titans still has Killer Moth.
Poor Libby, but that makes her special. Now every Youtube autist will make a analysis video abour Our israeliteess.
that doesn't sound good, particularly the resolution of nindependence, where are the Chens by the way?
Not here
What doesn’t sound good about them?
Ruben appeared in the dance episode.
Plot twist Libby dad goes back home with Libby. Is a drunk. Mom and dad constantly fighting. Mom starts wearing sunglasses.
not that kind of writer my dude
No more Andrea?
Why do i have a feeling Grandma Nin will die and become a ghost in the future
Libby's dad episode was a bit of a nothingburger.
Andrea had a cameo in the Dance episode.
Kind of a let down.
Andrea sounded a bit off. Her voice was kinda scratchy.
Jules was probably drunk in the recording booth

Rome wasn't built in a day and neither is perfection when you're writing.
Yeah, but at least some people cared about Rome. He looked like he didn't care about Libby at all.
A writer who has published a book is called an author is. A writer than has not published a book is called a useless bum.
Perfect example of israelite narcissism
He's not israeli. Leah is israeli. Torres is pretty obviously Argentine Catholic.
Should he change his family name back to Mengele?
DOES LIBBY CRY?
If Molly doesn't return her feelings
He made her cry

>Molly had a Mr. Whiskers doll from Brandy & Mr. Whiskers.
Fricking BASED-level reference.
That sharkepisode and Nindependence episodes sucked ass
How so?
Molly voice seems to get squeakier and squeakier in every new episode.
>Libby's dad's a jerk
Imagine how Libby feels knowing that her father only wanted to see her for a few minutes, after a long car trip.
Libby might've got to spend more time with her dad if Molly's fricking shitty B-plot with the turtles didn't take up so much time
It's still Didney.
Maybe she hoped it wasn't true, but there's no way she wasn't mentally prepared after 6 years... to write a single jerk off book no one is going to buy.
its a israelite nord times best seller
>Fourth-bestseller
I mean, if it were second-bestseller, I would understand. This is probably even worse than shit.
And yet he was apparently in talks for turning his book into a trilogy.
Somebody sued New York times about the Best Seller thing.
Turns out it is based on editorial opinion, not actual numbers.
I think Molly shenanigans took up too much of the time in Like Father Like Libby. Should maybe have done a Molly-less episode
It had more spent on Simon the fricking turtle at the end than Libby and her dad's moment.
What were bob and vegana thinking?
Someone with decision-making power must have thought it was too heavy and needed more 'comedy'
He didn't even take a selfie with Libby. He took a selfie with her book.
That confused the frick out me. I thought he was going to try and steal credit for Libby's book or something lol
It's pretty obvious what they meant by it.
>"Look at me, I'm such a good writer that my daughter wants to be a writer too #wholesome"
There are 3 types of absent dad imo
>deadbeat: goes to buy milk, never returns (also includes dads in prison, dads that come and go when they need money, and I guess also by technicality dads that die by their own irresponsibility like overdosing, suicide or so)
>wager: works himself to death just to keep family afloat, as a result is never home and has a hard time connecting with you but he still tries to take you to the beach or the zoo when he can, might die early due to stress/heart condition and you never really knew much about him (most dads)
>dream chaser: doesn't technically go to buy milk, you might know where he is and what he's doing, he might be a book writer, an artist,a rockstar, etc., the point is that he chose chasing dreams over family, the type that doesn't realise how missing your son's growth is a bad thing until it's way too late (bonus points if he starts a new family when he's in his mid 40s and gives the love he never gave you to the new baby)
And anytime Leah calls Libby her "little miracle" it always warms my heart so overall I think this episode was fine.
to remind you the show is about the Ghost and Molly McGee, you can't let Libby have her own episode.
yea but I like Libby
No you don't
Imagine if it had been 2 episodes where the first one was Molly / turtle shenanigans and the second one following Libby with them sharing only the phone call and the ending
If Leah was actually supportive of her man and helped with his dreams, maybe poor Libby wouldn't be put in this situation. Has anyone ever thought of that. But we know all Leah cares about is being poor.
Ugh I'm not feeling it for S2, just there for those cute moments and that's it.
>Character does a thing (Paint/Not Fall)
>Other Characters become uncharacteristically desperate to ensure that character does a thing.
The only reason to watch S2 is if you like world building.
anyone got megas?
Her dad is literally Brian Grffin's ego as a writer.
someone get a car and run him over!
a Disney show made by elitists who exchange workers from other companies and swap the same scum who are forced to make the same talking points due to company policies. .... yeah, I can see why he's Brian Griffin. do you see it too?
if B&B had any balls, Matias would've been more like this
It's not a nursing home, it's a retirement community!
I've been to a nursing home and it was one of the worst days of my life. Orphanages can at least be fun but nursing homes feel like fricking prison.
I work in the nursing home industry/health care section, I agree.
but hey, what to expect if we never get funded proper and the bits of money we get wander in the hand of greedy retirement home owners and the board they represent?
I quit my last employer, because we were so understaffed, people dehydrated under our work.
>but nursing homes feel like fricking prison
Isn't that their purpose?
NO. they shouldn't be. How would you feel if when you are at a certain age, you get essentially stuck into a chinese covid quarantne scenario, forced to swim half a day in your own waste befo one person can bother to change you?
SHE WAS ABUSIVE TO THE STAFF!
>retirement community
Always heard they frick like animals in those, to the point they have a problem with vd's spreading amongst the elderly.
Imagine Nin getting stuffed by a group of old dudes lemonparty style
>The family video call to check up on her
>Hair frazzled lipstick smeared around her mouth
>Some old guy walks by and smacks her ass
>grandma would rather live in a retirement home than with her family
Oof, are they that terrible?
Matias did nothing wrong.
>How come he don't want me, Mom?
>You are just a Libby no one wants a Libby
These episodes sucked.
Libby becomes a gay
Time to meet the man who stuffed the hottest milf on that show
>the man who stuffed the hottest milf on that show
Considering there seems to be no reason for him to be a deadbeat, i.e. he could be tapping that on a daily basis, does he deserve such tagline?
>mfw leah is on screen at any time
Daryl is cute and I’m sick and tired of pretending he’s not
Blooper: Libby's dad hands her book back to her, but then she's holding her dad's book and her own book has disappeared
But most of those episodes have Molly be proven wrong and not every one of them is about political topics.
Can't wait to see people post this out of context.
>She is blushing
Someone photoshop her Ollie and Molly fanfic
Wow that looks really bad and I'm not talking about the blush thing. The image look like those soulless fanarts that just copy the artstyle.
Was the book a jab at Game of Thrones?
Wow you even drew some of the more detail heavy scenes. Tasteful nudity too.
i'm only watching this slop because i'm depressed
Did not expect to see him here.
This is relevant with the orca stuff going on right now.
The Grandma Nin episode hits extra hard now that my fmaily is going through the same situation.
It sucks that this is the only episode that will have Leah being a prominent main character.
don't count her out just yet
Why doesn't Libby's dad just write his works in Brighton? He can do that shit anywhere.
But then in Bighton he'd also have to get a job to support his family's life expences, and take time off his writing to be with his daughter. He doesn't want any of that, he's the type of dude who wants to fly free with no restrictions.
so as I said, he is literally Brian Griffin
He needs to be a recurring character with that. Maybe after enough failures he actually decides to spend time with his family, but still brags to people that he's a writer.
>oh no grandma nin's dementia is acting up. grandma nin's got dementia!
>Girls! My dead soul floated into the turtle! I'm Turtle Grandma Nin!!!
Libby is going to fall for the first man who reminds her of her dad (wannabe writer) when she gets older, isn't she?

Honestly they should have cut Molly and Scratch B-plot, maybe play it off as a joke that nothing bad could happen too turtles already in their tank.
Should have been a Libby exclusive episode. I assume Disney didn't want an episode where the main character isn't involved, I remember Craig Mcracken struggling with that back in wander over yonder.
>Libby is a filthy half goy
Her mom is israeli so she's 100% kosher
No more hugs Libby
I guess Leah wanted Libby to know her dad is a piece of shit, I was just surprised she didn't do what most seperated parents do and insist on the deadbeat spending time with his daughter.
The dancing pete episode was sad in a way. I didn't think tiktok was actually that big, that the attention span of the public really could only be maintained through 10s long dancing shorts. Will this kind of episode be dated in 5 or more years?

Great show
YEAH, ME TOO!
Can Reform israelites get divorces without much fuss? Catholics technically can't divorce but Leah's loser husband could get an annulment since they failed to uphold the requirement for a mixed marriage to raise any kids Catholic.
Did they really have to make Leah such a passive-aggressive israelite? Not even an attempt to shame her husband, pathetic.
>passive-aggressive israelite
That's a redundancy
Probably didn't want to lead Libby on about what kind of person her dad is like. If Leah went out of the car and prodding him into doing something with Libby then he'd still be idolized by Libby and it'd probably hurt more when she expects he's coming home only to have all the writer excuses come out.
She could always shame the husband afterwards.
Libby's dad did nothing wrong. Leah should have gotten an abortion if he thought he was so bad of a father.
Additionally divorced or not there's no way that Libby's dad ISN'T working hard to pay child support for his daughter even if it's probably mostly driven out of ego.
The impression I got was that Leah and Matias were never even married. Libby was the result of a fling in college and since there was no formal commitment he just didn't bother sticking around.
You mean like your parents should've done?
Post more giant pupils
>hot woman goes for the chad who abandons her instead of the nice guy
Every time.
Leah probably never had a nice guy
I thought reformist israelites were the scum among israelites.
Sounds to me like they're the protestants of judaism.
It's christian for bad
What did they mean by this?
You know what they meant.
Well, they were setting it up.
No one loves Libby
How come neither Libby or her mother ever use yiddish slang?
Because modern israeli producers don't allow israeli humor
>Both episodes are dad themed
>The dad is the one in the wrong in both epiisodes
What did they mean by this?
Girls don't deserve a dad
I wish there was a cartoon episode where they explored they negative consequences of not having a paternal figure around. Not just one that ends with (you) will always have your Mon, family etc. But one where it made you realize how necessary a father is and at how much disadvantage you are with out one
Paddies and Argensimians are subhuman, that's all. Molly and Libby would be better off with only their respective mother's heritage.
Look, all I'm saying is that, this would all have been avoided had Leah hooked up with a nice israeli man instead of racemixing with cattl-... I mean, (ar)gentiles. The producers of this show are very wise for teaching this to the young girls of the tribe.
Libby is such a b***h she deserves a good beating
You should be shot
Libby’s dad mindbroke the internet
They got the Dean in this episode?
DA VINKY
>POC dad is a deadbeat
>white dad is still loving, supportive and present in his children's lives
What did they mean by this?
>Latino dad
Makes a lot of sense
This is Libby's world and we're all living in it
meh, 50/50

How has nobody mentioned this yet?
IT's pretty good, you just get diarrhea-poisoned.
